- Cold? Unemotional? Intellectual? Are these really the traits of every INTJ? In this episode, we breakdown some inaccurate stereotypes of INTJs and other high Te users.

There's this INTJ woman at my work that everybody thinks is extremely cold and emotionless, which is so frustrating to me because she's obviously very sensitive and caring and I can tell how much she wants everybody to like her.
Mike Trites I had that problem in school everyone thought I hated them
What type r u?
If she wants people to like her, she is not an intj
Mike Trites honestly...no. We just don’t care what people think. Definitely not something that would keep us up at night.
@@liapirlea8745 All of the employees took an MBTI assessment and she came out as an INTJ. Its possible the test was mistaken, but she's certainly not an ENTJ. She's a very shy, introverted person. Maybe some INTJs don't care what other people think, but I'm certain that she does, at least to an extent. I'm an INTP.
Worst is when mistyped "INTJs", uses it as an excuse to be a selfish douchebag. Thinking vs feeling trait has nothing to do with basic morality.
2. worst is when sensors think they are right becasue they use the "proper methology", simply because they are incapable of thinking themselves. A huge problem in academia.
Yes. To me the golden rule is logical. I don't get the whole villian worship crap.
Yeah, totally agree. You can really tell when someone online, who comments, is not really an INTJ. Their comment generally just seems so fake and stereotypical. It's like, "Oh, I hate everyone, everyone's so stupid." Any real objective 'logician' would see the uselessness in calling everyone else stupid.
@@vitamc1213 Usually, you can learn something from anybody you meet. It’s a foolish thing to write somebody off immediately because of superficial judgements. People are complicated, man!
to think by ourselves to rely on facts with strong logical links without the need to refer to external academic research and approval sources to build our own vision is really where we INTJ are the best
As far as knowledge gaining, I think INTJs can be obsessive about learning about a particular topic as long as it fits into a particular goal that he/she cares about. But not just reading/learning for its own sake. A metaphor: it's we are putting together a jigsaw puzzle, but there are pieces for several different puzzles mixed together. The INTJ has an image (which represents the goal) in his/her head and almost obsessively sorts through the pieces, casting away "useless" pieces that don't match the image and fitting pieces that DO match the image into the puzzle. That is how we "knowledge gain".
I am actually a slow reader, but because I pursue knowledge with the lense of realizing a certain goal, I can methodically build a base of knowledge about something.
Well put
yesss you nailed it fr
I am an almost 50 year old female INTJ. It was hard growing up and I didn't understand why I couldn't enjoy the social games and play much. I enjoyed a world of books a lot.Typically. But I knew I had to do something about it .. so I forced myself into the world to see if I could learn to be more social and open up. It worked! And I met a INFJ girl who was the first person in my life who could see and appreciate my qualities. I was 16 years old then. After that I was a like another person... released or something. I could speak without problem etc. What a relief and miracle!
I'm working within fine art, I have always been drawn to study and remember dreams, exsistential questions... I have always been into differnet special interest in timeperiods when I explore something more in depth. It can be more bookish studies or doing certain things. Now I focus on this.. functions.. MBTI. In my art I have a specific "goal" and way to go..in the end it has the meaning of "serving" humanity..:) it's quite mysterious. I believe small actions have unknown effects on peoples minds. Everything is connected.
I 'm not very good at making a career but I'm struggling to improve in this area. I want more recognition and I need to earn more to support myself. With age I try to focus on not being insecure in different ways... to not be so careful all the time. I don't like conflicts. At home it's ok but not in public or with other people than my family. I feel very vital and like I have many years ahead when I will be able to accomplish important work. I live with a partner (ISFP?) since 22 years or so and we had a child pretty late. I'm not much of a traditional familyperson... but we do fine.. in our own ways. I can't follow traditional ways too much. The bitchy intj-woman stereotype I can't relate to. I'm more of a dreamer... but also intense, focused and ethusiastic person in my own way. I have a big laugh, I like spontaneous free dancing and sometimes I give impression of being extrovert because I can be quite talkative and energetic in social settings. But it's like it's a little forced.... and it drains me if I do it too much.
Well I can go on and on in detail but I think this is enough for now. Enneagram 5w4. Thank you!
Oh my goodness. Bless this comment. It is so great to read this from an older intj. I see wisdom, balance and healthy doubt in your written thoughts, many of which frighteningly resonate with mine, especially the phrase “everything is connected”.
5:31 I agree, INTJ's are more irrational (Intuitive), than rational. Ti users run on pure logic, everything has to clearly fit together for them to understand. INTJ's on the other hand deal in probabilities, where they run it through their Te to determine whether something is reliable or not. Its clear induction (INTJ) vs deduction (IXTP) or empiricism (Te) vs rationalism (Ti).
Ti just as empiricististic as te when paired ne and si. te is about effectiveness/ action. ti is focused on finding the truth. for istp they are less about empiricism because they have se and ni. because of istp tertiary ni they like to go with their gut instinct.
no Te is truth, Ti is how the individual comprehends it, Ti is interested in fact Fi is interested in truth, INTJs only seem irrational when their Te doesn't
compute with Ti, on rare occasion the INTJ might be incorrect but mostly they just don't show their work and Ti can't follow, Ti is irrational when they
can't think outside the box...thousands of years ago a TP knew fire is hot but never thought about boiling water and probably thought an INTJ placing
water over fire to boil was crazy, perhaps not true we may never know but a basic example of how Ti knows a lot of facts but don't know what they
mean in relation...Ti is you can't teach an old dog new tricks, but they'll fetch a stick like a mofo....

We are not purely rational. We think we are, but we aren't. The most logical thing for a Ti user to do is to admit they aren't robots, and to accept their feelings. But maybe I've just grown up in an Fi dominated home with an ENTJ, an ENFP, and an INFP, so....
INTJ's are terrible speakers when young which would make us terrible dictators! I know I definitely am. I have a hard time getting words out or piecing together a coherent and descriptive sentence without becoming frustrated that I'm taking too long to describe something, so I speak faster and end up missing information out which frustrates me even more. Describing something is incredibly hard for me unless I'm given all of the time in the world so don't ever ask me to describe something in 5 minutes.
When it comes to female INTJ's we are expected to not take any interest in vanity which I think is inaccurate. While there will be some out there who don't care about their looks there will be some who do. I know for myself that I prefer function over fashion, I will get annoyed if something starts hurting or becoming uncomfortable, but I still want to look good and presentable. I also know that if I put makeup on I will not re-apply throughout the day, I can't be bothered doing that, so I find the most long wearing products that I can find or wear minimal amounts.
Oh, you're so right! In my case it's because I feel like I want to say three concepts at a time but of course I can't do that, so I start babbling.
Many people think INTJs don't care about looks but that's super wrong in my case. Maybe I'm an exception, I don't know, but I love fashion. Not because I care about expensive clothes or anyting like that, I just love being aesthetically pleasing.
I'm an intj female and everything you said fits me exactly.
Good points. I know I am definitely function first. I know some other INTJ women who use certain looks in their plans of...whatever it may be. Blending in or presenting the desired fecade. I can't be bothered because luckily my job is based solely on phylical capability and any femal physical attractiveness just distracts from my efforts as I'm surrounded by men all day and don't deal with customers. There are certain times one must blend in though. Simple because one wants to be incognito.
I always say that when the zombie apocalypse hits I'll have the advantage because everyone else will look comparatively bad, where I'll look the same.
Im not an intj but everything you said I relate to. Especially the first paragraph. Omg my childhood.
I still fumble over my words as an adult. Writing however, much different. I could write pages on anything and my thoughts are a lot more coherent.
I find that when intjs pursue the arts, they acquire a metaphorical and symbolic style of expression.
In my case, although I don’t pursue the arts, and am not coherent in my speech, I can carry a symbolic style of expression when I’m writing freely. That is evident in my personal journals.
I relate hard to how indecision can plague the INTJ. I can jump to a decision if the stakes are low or the situation forces it. If I have time to ponder, I will spend a lot of time tracing out all the possible consequences of each choice. Without perfect knowledge of a situation (and how often do we actually have that luxury?), I always worry that the decision I make will be undermined by information revealed in the future. The worst is when I fall into an Ni-Fi loop and make a decision without Se data to inform Te that maybe I need to reassess. I've made some of the worst decisions in my life when that happened.
I also relate to having some weird interests that one might not expect from a stereotypical INTJ. For one, even though I'm all about empirical data and the scientific method, I'm intrigued by astrology. It's unscientific and should be utter nonsense, and yet I tell people I am the quintessential Aries, as well as the rat from the Chinese zodiac. I fully see myself in those traits, but it's completely irrational.
I agree. I always feel a lack of information. It's like I can't make a decision until further information (aka: I can't decide until the situation boxes me into a specific decision).
Im lost in thinking this sounds like me 😄 (infp). But once im around an intj, very clearly different than me. I guess its okay to say I relate to this comment tho
into astrology too, I geeked the whole thing like 20 years ago at the age of 15 and have been reading charts so much I had begun a small business around it for a while
it is so true that intjs are drawn to the lower functions!! at some point i thought i was isfp, because i thought intj is supposed to be fit to this "villain" stereotuype. how can i be a villain if i have this high of and fi? but after i observed some of my infp/isfp friends and esfp friends i realized i only overestimated my fi and se
To me, "Sterotypical" INTJs look more like ENTJs, or even like ESTJs.
Exactly. That's exactly what I think too. The traits the are emphasized in the stereotypical INTJ are almost always related to Te (TJ) rather than Ni. Many people seem to forget that INTJ's dominant function is actually Ni, and Te is only used to serve the dominant Ni. And in fact some INTJs don't even have a strongly developed Te, because not everyone has a strongly developed auxiliary function.
I type myself as an INTJ because in Socionics I am ILI-Ni. Ni is very hard to explain, because its passive for the most part. I catch myself using Ni when I'm limiting probabilities to determine the most likely outcome, or when I get instant flashes of insight.Since I use Te, I always have to think out loud or write to fully understand a concept. Also, facts are my prime concern, as opposed to pure logic. Also my Fe is completely nonexistent and I'm terribly unaware of my environment and I'm apt to overdoing sensory activities. Even though I try to deny my feelings, my Fi is very strong and guides me even when I'm not aware that it's doing so. I agree with you that INTJ are not decisive, because Ni sees multiple options that are equally beneficial and while we are doing our cost benefit analysis, the opportunity passes. Great video as always.
akumasdeception similar experience(intj femal), how old are you?
Anastasia Nikolic 21
That is a thing. INTJs have to think out loud when they are alone. Even in front of people it happens
That is because we use the ENTP unconscious shadow in very much consistency with the ego functions to solve a problem.
OpportunisticHunter I agree. We use Ne and Ti a lot in fact. It’s just that we don’t see the value of it. For example, we use Ti in a negative way. Ti for an INTJ is used when we are deconstructing a persons argument.
Ugandomane DOC I never meant it literally. It’s more like INTJs need to externalizations their thoughts, which can come in form of debating, writing, and etc.
honestly i’ve seen way too many istx thinking they’re intjs because of stereotypes
Agree. What Alex and Calypso say about ISTJs being a gathering of knowledge is true, so a lot of ISTJs are actually very knowledgeable and intellectual. But because typology profiles always associate these characteristics with INTJs or NTs in general and rarely with SJ types, many intelligent and knowledgeable SJs mistype themselves as NJs.
Totally! I know a couple very artistic, spiritual INTJs.
Isaac Newton was a very mystical alchemist, the best alchemist the world had which transformed it into the scientific basis to chemistry. Even that thing about energy and mass transmutation that Einstein got into equation 200 years later to E=MC^2 and Newton already had that from his alchemical studies. And he was very spiritual, he was quite comfortable with the idea of spirits pervading space, influencing things without contact and he translated one of those ideas into one of gravity being universal.
About the only INTJ stereotype I don't fit is the "Things that make INTJ's laugh" on the Personality Cafe forum. Almost none of that shit makes me laugh. It's all too dark, too cruel, too obnoxious to be funny.
In re: decisiveness, I was like the INTJ in this video in thinking that I'm not decisive, and compared myself to ENTJ's who seem to make decisions instantly, but now that I've been around a few other types, I can see how it seems like I'm very decisive. P types especially have difficulty making up their minds and I'm like, "Decide already! It's just ice cream!"
Yeah
Interesting, INTJ here, I also don’t fit the “Things that make INTJs laugh” stereotype, but I’m quite indecisive
As a likely INTP female, I would like to note on the Ti-Fe dynamic that you briefly touched upon; I don't think anyone who knows me would chose the word "logical", "opinionated" or "assertive" to describe me. I have heard all that being attributed to an INTJ friend I know though. That Te really makes an impact on how they come across as. But for IxTPs it can be quite frustrating to have a strong opinion or come to a certain conclusion via Ti, but the desire not to come off as a know-it-all or as too assertive - that definitely comes from Fe, at least that's how I function.
Lana Marie Taylor at least you can tell when you might offend someone. With Te I just spit out what I think is ok to say and then get told I was being harsh and I’m like... 😦 how?! Lol I could use a little Fe training
hmm I wish I knew. Guess we all have to learn from each other. Knowing your own weaknesses is the first step. Being aware of things like this is a good start. I have a filter that's too strong sometimes and leaves people happy (or better, unaware) but me unhappy. Or - the other (rarer) extreme where I can bypass Fe (with people I know well and know they won't hold it against me if I'm direct) and be a stereotypical cold INTP. Balance... always a struggle
i think it's because we live in a world where they only care about cold hard facts (physical/Ni/Se). intps care about metaphysical understanding (Ti/Ne). so intj may need help solving a problem, and the intp will come along and just ramble about with their Ne, and throw in some Ti. Then the Te from intj will get inspired about where to look and sift through for data or try (apply an idea or theory) and then confirm with their Ni. i think thats why intjs usually become scientists and engineers with many degress and skills, and intps usually become mathematicians or theoretical scientists with a phd and nothing to put on their resume.
THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS TOO STRONG WHEN IT COMES TO FACTS AND ANYONE OFFENDED BY FACTS IS AN IDIOT AND UNDESERVING OF RESPECT! haha. Was that too strong? This is how it always comes out in the moment but I think I'm just stating facts for everyone's benefit.
I am intp make male people would describe me as logical. for opinionated or assertive they will not say that about me.
I know what you mean about the artistic pursuits and I think what you said is on the same path one of the things Michael Pierce says in his Revisited INTJ video which was " I often see that they have some sort of artistic or literary bent. There's this need to express things that are very difficult to express almost like the ISFP"
My father-in-law is an istj and is very much a creature of habit. It's cool listening to him talk about things as we have the same auxiliary and tertiary function. The practical expressions towards the things we care about or are interested in. He's very meticulous and very skilled at what he does and in talking about the knowledge gathering aspect he and I were talking one time (he is the supervisor for all maintenance and upkeep of the contracted school buses for the entire San Bernardino School District) about the different generations of engine control management, computer run vehicles, the methods of diagnosing and repair as vehicles have evolved eliminating some of those methods as the need for them does not exist now and he said at the end of us collectively revisiting those older methods that no longer apply "Dustin, some of the new mechanics in my shop they're good mechanics and they know a lot about the vehicles were working on now but they don't have any experience working on any of the older generation vehicles. I can almost say I've forgotten more than they know".
Back to the similarities in Te Fi . It's great because we can have very matter-of-fact conversations. And I see the similarity and dedication to the responsibilities that we have to take care of those few people that we truly love and care about. What Fi lacks in outward expression it makes up for it with its endearing sincerity.
When I heard the stereotype of "I must read such and such newspapers a day, I'm such an INTJ!" I was like "No! Never!" Like, why? I don't understand why someone would set themselves such an arbitrary task when they could be dedicating that time towards their pursuits? Or their family/hobbies or something worthwhile. If a newspaper had information I knew or suspected it contained then sure, I would endure the torment of having to read newspapers endlessly so long as I got the information I was looking for in the end, but not just for the sake of reading them, or to fulfil some sort of weird training task or whatever. That seems like such a waste of time to me.
One of your points reminds me of something I found curious in INTJ groups and forums. While I'm well-read, I'm always grabbing personal observations and creating theories and projections from those observations as much as if not more than grabbing from external resources. (Okay, time-wise definitely more than considering how much I have to take a break from consuming informational resources just to ponder.) I actually PREFER qualitative information. However, quite a few people in online groups disregard anything that doesn't come from an institutional authority and is quantitatively proven. Some of them will blatantly call others idiots for not following the same developments, and may simply seem to not understand that people can use personal observations to slowly draw conclusions. On another topic, some, not necessarily the same individuals, seem to be able to study an admirable range of journal article topics and can argue specific points like methodology and the quality of the math. Blows my mind. I'm not saying these people are necessarily not INTJs (though maybe heavily-winged 5w6s and 6w5s), but they have made me ponder why we're such polar opposites in this respect and, as pointed out in this video, there might be some ISTJ potential.
I've also always found it funny how INTJs have such a dark, strict reputation. I initially thought that Thinking-doms like ENTJs would have that. But then someone pointed out the obvious: even Te-doms tend to have decent social skills and see the value in charming others (how else do they become your minions?--my ENTJ brother growing up). It does seem like myself and the ISTJs in my life, no matter how conscientious or courteous we are, just seem to fail at displaying intent or displaying intent in a way that can be easily read.
I never wanted minions, by the way. I either like to be alone or be with 1-3 close, best friends. We had a dream that we would specialize in different sciences and do field research all over the world while doing writing, film, and art on the side. I followed the strategy to get me there, but alas, no one to follow. They have no idea how I stayed on track and knew what to do, and I have no idea how they got lost. We laugh about it now.
Most people who say they’re INTJ just aren’t. I suspect many of them have a lot of Se or Si, getting all worked up about stupid things, like how the host wears her/his hair. But really. Ni isn’t like that (as far as I’m aware). It’s more interested in gathering data.
I use to think I was an isfp because I saw myself as emotional and I had some se interest (playing guitar and working out). After I started asking the people around me about their perspective of me, I started to get a better understanding of the type of person I am.
I so not relate to the "organized" trait everybody say we have, like we get up early and get things done like robots all day long?? hell no. I plan a lot and I'm a natural strategizer, and Ok I can make plans the whole day yes but actually after having my plans set I am pointless!, getting my plans to execution is really the hard part for me. I'm so lazy, I make plans to not have to work a lot. I strategize to not have to work very long. That's where people confuse our type with actual practicle people, I feel stuck in a conceptual world sometimes, even if I kick myself in the ass because of the need for growth.
oh also my beauty as an INTJ female matters a lot to me, I always hear we don't take care about our clothes, yes I am a bit "black t-shirt X20 ex" at home but I've learned to master femininity later in my life and I care about my physical appearance (but yes it's not just for beauty it's in a more "seductive" purpose so I guess we could tag that as manipulation. )
I enjoyed this video, and as an INTJ in reference to the stereotype of being cold or heartless can be mitigated by teaching yourself to almost put a mask on in scenarios that require a more EF, or emotional response. Just smile and nod lol
"We're not logicians!"
Both are being logicians by performing a deep analysis of types and forming complex theories based on data particularities and personal experience lol
Just accept it. We're logicians lol
That's a very INTP thing to do. INTPs compare their own subjective frameworks with the external, and either re-evaluate it or cast it away.
Please, no offense but this is hilarious, ladies! I am an INTJ and hearing the two of you talk is making me know what I sound like when I talk. My boyfriend always says how I "ramble". But it isn't rambling it is thinking out loud, right? Thanks, for this, it is so great.
I think you mean asocial instead of antisocial. Antisocial usually means criminal behavior. Asocial is what most people means when they say antisocial, just meaning not social.
I'd say I fit into the stereotype INTJ mold very well. As most information on INTJ has claimed, science and reasoning are very important to me. In my experience it's not whether or not someone is social or antisocial, but rather how they structure they're decision making and process information. The social vs antisocial factor seems to be something someone with a developed S trait would care about more.
Question for the hosts: Are you both studying Psychology, or is this a hobby?
INFP: We're not studying psychology in the official academic sense.
Am I a strange INTJ female? I like fashion and I love to speak, like on presentations or deep conversations (because I can persuade them with my thoughts and learn new things)
Inferior Se. It gives the desire to act and appear clean and we'll put together. It's still in the inferior slot, so it isn't a very naturally proficient function, but it's there and it's valued. Kinda like how INTPs are often very emotional and kind under the analysis, or INFPs desire to lead and command.
I'm an intj and one thing I remember saying to friends trying to get me to go to a school dance is "give me a reason or you'll have to drag me there" I was not a fan of school and hated large crowds of people so unless I was given a not emotional reason I would not go, but I did enjoy going to smaller gatherings and/or hanging out with my select trusted friends, I have also noticed people mistake intj to be judgemental when it seems more to do with placing the the chaos around us in order and making sense out of what we experience because we know we aren't as mentally equipped to properly expressing our emotions and resort naturally to logical reasons that we hope others can understand even if its not 100% accurate to how we actual feel
im an intj thats really into beauty and cosmetics so yeah thats true
On decisions, I usually do a lot of research, till I feel comfortable with my answer, and then commit to my decision. I look at it as trusting myself in making a good choice.
I'm a Multitasking INTJ. I'm usually doing multiple things at the same time. I will go down the rabbit hole on one thing I'm interested in for hours on end as well, but I can collect data on many things at the same time, and sort them as I go.
The more personal experience a INTJ gets, the better they are. We are antisocial because we don't have much experience around other people. The more experience we get though, the better the mental programs we can write on handling those experiences. So usually the older a INTJ gets the better they are in all aspects. Of course only if they work on their weaknesses during that time.
I think this is very accurate, at least for me. I'm a 14 yo INTJ, and the articulate thing I can especially see fitting myself. I've also always been very artistic, but not in the traditional creative sense, it's always been more technical for me. Although I still see myself as creative, and that is also a word that can be associated with an INTJ, I think. Generally, I'm just not very abstract in the things that I make.
I've never been a spiritual person though, even though my mom (an INFP) is very spiritual, I've always tried to apply logic to everything, and that kind of spirituality doesn't really fit that. Although yes, I don't think I'm a hardcore logician.
Here is my idea of the difference between INTP and INTJ way of thinking. Both of them are "solving problems" but the difference is in what the problems are and how they are solved. The type of the problem is described by thinking (Ti vs Te) and the approach by intuition (Ne vs Ni).
INTP: The Ti problems are introverted, which means that these problems must have a special meaning for the person. Because the Ti is dominant for INTP, solving these problems is crucial for them. The INTPs need to understand the outside world for themselves. They don't much care if other people also understand the world. The approach of solving these problems is by Ne. It means that INTPs are randomly jumping through ideas and hope that some of the ideas will eventually solve their problem. This method is not very efficient but it can last for a very long time (days/months/years) so INTPs will get to the conclusion after time and perhaps their final approach to the problem will be original. The efficiency for solving problems will come later in their life and it is caused by remembering the best approaches from the past and using them.
INTJ: The Te problems are extraverted, which means that INTJ must feel that the world would work better if they solve the problem. The Te problems lay outside of the person and INTJ want other people to understand the solution. The Te is secondary for them, so the problems are important but not crucial. The way of solving the problem is Ni. The Ni is not randomly jumping through ideas but it is systematically extending one or few ideas to come to final conclusion. Because the Ni is dominant for INTJ, it is extremely efficient. INTJs are solving difficult problems fast and precise. The main disadvantage is that some problems require original approach and INTJ may be struggling in using original method. The originality can come later in their life because they will use their broad experience from the past.
This type of friendship is so precious
I'm a bit confused. When I look at what each "letter" in the mbti personality test means (and I have done so I detail), I definitely identify with introverted, intuition, thinking and judging.
But then I look at videos about intjs and don't relate at all? I'm a fucking meme lord, and I consider myself open minded when it comes to ideas, people and feelings (I just like to plan what I do myself ahead of time and be prepared for what comes later on). I express my emotions openly aand am in touch with them, I just analyze things through logic first.
Idk what mbti type I am anymore...
INFP: It helps to look into the 8 cognitive functions.
intead of trying to categorize yourself, just take a few reputable tests & see your results.
Cod be an INTP overlapping into Fi. Maybe you've found it logical (or you could have been raised in an Fi household like mine) to consider feelings.
I believe I'm INTJ; I make art and do tarot as a personal self reflection tool. I've also tried to develop some basic Fe skills so people don't think I'm a sociopath. I understand where you're coming from about being anti social. I think especially as a woman, I've been insecure about giving people a bad experience or assumed people didn't/wouldn't like me so I didn't even try socializing for a long time. Until I made some Te targets to socialize - and now I have some friends. 😄
I love your channel ladies. Keep it up. Love from South Africa.
I sought counsel for career research and was advised to start with Meyers Briggs; I scored 52%/48% Introvert/Extrovert INTJ. Didn't research the letters too deep, just beginning to make sense that i am gold standard rare
So... is the clock on the wall broken? or just powered down to hide the edits/cuts?
I have to see all of them, and check as many types out as I can. I still feel like INFP, but one day I'll find out.
Well i know i am a INTJ because for some reason i keep attracting ENFPs, INFP and once a while an INFJ.
I'm an INTJ but I really don't relate to the INTJ girl in this video. Many of her observable traits appear quite contrary to my own.
The stereotyping of INTJ's are just letting a real INTJ who seeks knowledge about his/her personality type to 2nd guess.
This caused me to mistype myself for a few years actually. In fact, I think that the people who identify with INTJ instantly and never second guess themselves or do more research are very likely not INTJs because there is so much BS online you have to dig to actually find an accurate portrayal of the type. It's even harder if you have a weak Te relative to Ni, you simply won't relate to the stereotype at all. I also don't like the hype around INTJs where people feel so special about being one. I guess most true INTJs woudn't care either. The only reason I liked finding out I'm INTJ was to finally realise what I should work on (Te in my case).
@@TheFelipe10848 INTJs are one of the rarest types that is why they get misunderstood with their brain function pattern so they kind of blend in as a sign of survival instinct. Sometimes they resemble INTPs thinking through comparing or contrasing, weaving events to what is relevant, problem solving through patterns and connections (Ti and Ni). They can also be profiled as ENTJs because of the leadership skills but because of Ni they get aloof when dealing with a problem because they have to contemplate. They are sometimes mistaken as INFPs because of their Fi but I notice that they love the mind games and politics to get people to work for them without putting lots of effort in some grunt work, and INFPs do not like that, they value genuineness. They are mistaken as INFJs too because they can be seen as emotional but the Fe of INFJs is always about getting along with people and Fi of INTJs is a lot more like self-isolation, example, 2 are invited to a party, the INFJ will probably say yes (given that there is no complication) because of putting importance to social values whilst INTJ will just say no (unless they need something out of the party. Lastly, they can also be typed as ENTP because of the upside down cognitive pattern but ENTPs do not have trouble on jumping into a task without a detailed plan. They will figure something out while doing the task. Overall, INTJs are not bothered with typology because they are pragmatic. They always have a subjective impression on anything. You will be able to confirm that you are an INTJ if you always change your point of view on something (for example a problem) because of your subjective perception (Ni working) but when you understand the overall concept you will have at least 3 plans (Te) to be used to start that task.
Every type can do the stereotyped behaviors of another type. Do not get so excited about the idea.
i think a good reference of what an intj acts like is Micheal Burry from The Big Short. Check it out. i'm an intp and what i love about intjs is that they show me that i don't have to think so hard sometimes.
2:15 Yo, I quit my job when it doesn't serve my value. :"))
If build an ai computer with 4 Behaviors to make decision : start from T-F>S-N>E-I>J-P, is it can consider the computer with personalities ?
I actually made a somewhat basic plan on how to take over the world as a child. My older sister was the muscle. People are lucky I'm not a psychopath 😆
I don't want to rule the world, that's too much responsibility and people to manage and I really rather not deal with them.
I would hardly call myself illogical. My leading function may be Ni, but I use my Te quite often. The number of times I've explained things with simple logic makes me question people's thinky bits sometimes... I'm great at following patterns and have reasons for all the things I do, even if the purpose of a thing is merely for amusement purposes. Seems logical to me, but perhaps I'm missing something.
I'm not as cold and hateful as I might appear to be sometimes. I don't even realize it until someone tells me something after the fact. I've had meetings with a "new person" a time or two only to find out from someone else that person thought I didn't like them. I've also learned to perk up my voice a bit at work to sound friendlier, as it's naturally low and some people are like small animals that respond better to "baby talk" (not as extreme, but the same idea).
Also related is the female stereotype that we're all in tune with our feelings and those of others and when someone comes to me with that topic, I question in my mind if they want some sort of advice, which I likely won't know what to say, or if they just want to be heard, maybe a "there there, everything will be alright" and a pat on the back or something.
Another thing... I wish certain popular website/s would change their "mastermind" label to like "strategist" because it just enforces the evil genius stereotype. On one level, I find it amusing, but at the same time it attracts the cringiest people to call themselves INTJs that are very much not and I do not want to be associated with that.
Wow thats true , my Ni is work like im answer question with no reason and next the reason show up (maybe my Te ?)
Thats same for me , i always search something and more like gets deep know about a topic (what im interest in) than bunch random topic (yeah its can take hours , mostly are psychology and science)
Im into spiritually stuff too but im more like science and like to connect it
Im not consider im cold or something , i just dont get the point why i must smile all the time 😕 (i mean you will be called crazy if you smile or laugh on nothing [in my logic])
The INFP here makes three remarks regarding INTJs. I will try to assess and criticize each one of them as an INTJ.
1) Decisiveness and INTJ
The INFP clearly confuses decisiveness with having strong opinions or feelings or ideas (INFP and INTP). Decisiveness is more about taking strong action based on a plan decided upon. It is about 'Te' or getting things done. INTJ is considered as decisive because once they devise a plan with their 'Ni', they stick to it and accomplish it no matter what (Te).It is their high 'Te' that is responsible for INTJs and ENTJ s being considered as decisive and ruthless respectively.
2) Logic and INTJ
I partially agree with the INFP in this regard. INTP is generally considered as the most logically precise of all mbti types. INTJ with their Ni is more about possibilities and visions of the future. They use their 'Te' to solidify and actualize their plans.
3) INTJ and Knowledge
The INFP clearly does not distinguish between Knowledge and Articulation. A very knowledgeable person may not be articulate enough to convey his ideas whereas a very articulate person may have little knowledge in reality (they may just be good at persuading others). An INTJ is capable of being both knowledgeable and articulate due to their combination of Ni and Te. Also INTJs are generally considered as one of the most academically brilliant of all types. One survey of college students ranked INTJ as having the second highest IQ of all types, the first being INTP.
Possibilities is Ne. Ni converges, Ne diverges. It dosen't generate possibilities as much as it does narrow them down to a singular ideal or vision.
INTJ crushing on INTJ. 🥴
the only stereotypes I don't get is the weak Fi, Fi is the will it work as also the has it worked filter, Si is stored in INTJ Fi to save on free space
in the mind, I'm sure there's more stereotypes that I'd disagree with, whatever it is that ppl mistake entp for INTJ by...and of course negative stereotypes
in INTJ weaknesses, those happen on an individual level and doesn't always apply to all INTJs...
Iam an INTJ and the INFP lady here has been pretty irritating in her mode of communication (in most of her videos). Too much pointless laughter and floweriness in her communication. It also seems she has some axe to grind regarding INTJs.
I will here address some of her remarks in this video.
1) Iam pretty decisive. But only after I have zeroed in on the path I want to take. However I can make decisions and execute them pretty quickly.
2) I do read a lot of books. But only if I see those books helping me in my career or self improvement.
3) Iam not talkative. But Iam pretty articulate when I have to make a presentation or talk in a podium or conference.
i can't wrap my mind around the fact that people still get their information by newspapers, isn't it much more cheap and convenient to use google or articles?
I kid you not....just bought my mom a newspaper today
-sighs-
is your mom INTJ?
Si people love the smell of the paper... the ink and the texture that it feels on the hands... You can't just take that away from them. And they make up for some 40% of sensors in the world.
As an INTJ I actually like newspapers because the information I want to look up is always at the same place and the same page, and I know which days of the week they will have short stories, which days they will have crossword puzzles, which days have cartoons, etc. Why spend time looking for info when you know you'll find it there. And sometimes in passing you'll find something interesting. It's not like you know you won't want to know about something unless you come across it first.
Geofanny Yohanes as opposed to...the internet?
I can say that I subconsciously denied the results as INTJ for me and tried to go extroverted in a way that I resulted in ENTJ or ESFP on the test... even ENTP I got once but I tried to keep on my ENTJ results instead. I love some INTJs that are famous like Isaac Newton and Dwight Eisenhower but I wouldn't like to be them. Just like Elon Musk said he wouldn't like to be him. And I keep the same behavior, I wouldn't like to be me no matter what. I feel I would like to be more of an ESTP because primarily of sex... But then there is the subconscious key for INTJs that is the ESFP subconscious, is a good thing there I will so much to develop myself... and I feel that might be easier for INTJ girls than boys.
As INTJs we are triple movement which means we indeed have and use in conjuction the ENTP shadow functions Ne, Ti, Fe, Si... and the subconscious Se, Fi, Te, Ni that is the ESFP. So 3 types that we use subconsciously and unconsciously easier than others. The 4th side which is the superego of the INTJ is ISFJ but it could also be used in conjunction in a positive manner, but it is the hardest one. It comes off more negatively from when an INTJ is prevented from being an INTJ to the point of shutting off the triple movement types from the mind and rests only destruction down the road to new life. But there is still sometimes to act off as a caring person but we know how far this could go only and how limited we are on this function.
What are you talking about? You make it overcomplicated. If you're Ni Te Fi Se you're INTJ, no matter how shit your behaviors are.
I can't say I relate. I would hate to be anything else. I love the way my brain works and although understanding people's "feelings" better might have some advantages I don't find it necessary at all. Feeling exist but they aren't anything to make decisions on.
And are you saying you wish you were more extroverted so you could have more random sex with random people? Ew. Quality people over quantity of people! Who can have sex with someone who isnt intellectually stimulating and morally compatable? Also ew. I'd rather my parts shrivel up, die and fall of than use them in a degrading way. I'd never let sexual "feeling" control my behavior. Sexual incontinence is for the weak.
Would being really sarcastic be another stereotype?
I thought I was INTJ, but I think ENTP makes more sense for me. I think i see more of the Ti logic in my own thought process. Is it common to confuse intuition for introversion? I was very sure I was an introvert, which I think threw me off.
INFP: Ne dominants are fairly likely to believe they're introverted.
INTJ & INFP Coffee also I love your channel! Thank you for responding-I'm low key freaking out!
I'M INTJ AND I'M EXTREMELY DECISIVE.
You might have really strong Te and Se for an INTJ or maybe you are an ENTJ with strong Ni that relates to INTJs quite a lot. If you see yourself as an INTJ more than ENTJ just because you think you are not socially extroverted, you might be thinking about things the wrong way. ENTJs just extravert their thinking as their main form of interaction, most are not extroverts in the traditional sense of the word. Tertiary Se make ENTJs even less likely to second guess themselves than INTJs, so while you may be INTJ this single post screamed ENTJ to me.

World domineering and master mind? When do I get to own the world? I guess I have to wait a bit eh haha .
Why do I love all of this analyzation?
Because you get a better understanding when it is explained to you, kind of like a second opinion or further analysis. And also turning that What you knew before To Now you know more
@@plasma. I'm an INTJ, I was being sarcastic. ;)
and my ne function is higher than my ni function 🤔
ENTP shadow functions of the INTJ are Ne Nemesis (Why INTJs are so paranoid about the intentions of other people) and Ti Critic (why INTJs pursue so much in logic)
There isn't much Fe and Si there to talk much about other than awkwardness and weak memory of details that don't matter the focus of an INTJ. Specially the past long term. Is a doorway to the negative side of an INTJ.
@@OpportunisticHunter CS Joseph
If INTJs are really that stereotypical "villain" or "mastermind" with no heart and is extremely logical, bruh they won't go for "world domination" rather "complete annihilation of humanity". Saying you like "world domination" means you still care, you just want change :3 And oh, I agree with ya' guys so much about the "artistic inclination" thingy, 'cause I have a lot of hobbies that you might consider artsy. Also, I couldn't do that "reading a bunch of newspaper every morning" ritual, that would kill me.
That would be INTP. INTJ's want to change the world, not annihilate it. Whether that makes us villains or not depends on whether you like our ideas for change or not.
more like Isaac Newton stereotype... heartful scientific Christs whom bring knowledge to save the world. Not destroy it.
I'm into spirituality and artsy stuff as well lol

“Like....like....you know....like....just like....like a....you know....like...yeah....like.” And the uptalk. Not impressed, girls.
Van Hoey good thing they don’t exist to impress you 🙄
Iv watched many intj info videos from many channels. I must say that these two people don’t really seem to know what and intj is. You don’t just break down the two letter codes of types and interchange them so freely as if we are defined by a pair of two letter type codes. Intjs are hyper logical, they are extremely articulate and they are highly intelligent by nature of constantly wanting to know how everything works. Seeking knowledge. This girl claims to be an intj? Interesting.
I would be curious to see examples of videos that you think describe INTJs well.
You've more described an INTP, not so much an INTJ. INTPs with their dominant Introverted Thinking and auxiliary Extroverted Intuition are more inclined to seeking information for the sake of it. INTJs have dominant Introverted Intuition and auxiliary Extroverted Thinking, which is much narrower in terms of focus. So yes, I (being an INTJ), seek knowledge, but it's confined within the narrow scope of my interests and future goals. If I'm not interested in something then I don't care. When I seek information on something, it's for a specific end, and not for the sake of learning it. Learning for the sake of learning is a waste of time that could be better spent on something more productive. An example, for the book I'm writing I started writing parts involving swords, then realised I knew nothing about the topic. So I learned everything I felt was useful about the topic. Same with medieval and early Renaissance fashion, anything I think might be useful, I will learn. If I don't think I'll need it in future, then I just won't be interested in learning it. I don't want to know how everything works because that would be a waste of time, I want to know how the things I need to know about work.
@@Azdaja13 i agree with you. I did not specifically mention learning what I have an interest in learning about. I kind of felt that went without saying. But you are correct. I am an INTJ myself.
To the girl on the left (of my screen). I'm going to be blunt: You have a horrible speaking voice. Do you listen to yourself before uploading? I literally had to stop you at 1 minute because it's like nails down a chalkboard. Such a shame, as I really wanted to explore this topic.
I'm being serious, you should really think about re-uploading this video.
I noticed this too. It actually calmed down a lot later in the video. It sounded like a prepubesant screech owl for a minute. I'm sorry. I think what you had to say was good. It may just be a matter of habit, the upwards inflection at the end of all your sentences. Who can think of their voice when they're on the spot in front of a camera? I know. Maybe just a little practice.
There was no need to be so callous. Saying "To be blunt" or something else of the like (such as "To be honest"), does not excuse your behaviour. If you want someone to take your supposed well-meaning advice, I sugest you please work on your delivery.
Do you speak to people in person like this too, or are you feeling emboldened to do it here because it's with strangers on the internet?
If you are an INTJ, I hope you realise that you are further reinforcing the idea that we cold and arrogant.
@@emmaheart371 don't worry they are not intj. Very sensoric.
