Our very own Honda Civic 1.5T RS, Owner’s Review. Honda launched the Civic’s 10th Generation in Pakistan with 2 different engine options, the well known R18 (1.8 NA) as Oriel, and the more power oriented all-new L15 (1.5 Turbo) as top of the line. Due to some issues with petrol and tunes that caused engine knocking and so had to be updated to a milder tune. Honda had to shut down production temporarily till they relaunched the Turbo variant with the “RS” badge and more kits, larger rims, a sleeker black interior with red stitching and the unmissable SPOILER. Giving the car a somewhat new and more Turbo look. On the wheel behind 174 horses and 220Nm of torque those looks justify! Only if you’re willing to pay the extra digits though.. whoops.

2017 Turbo gives the same fuel average. Don’t know maybe if it was because of Honda’s ECU update. Mine was updated at only 3000Km. Now 12K driven and still drives like new after 4 years. 14~15 in city with light foot and 17.5~19.5 highway.
I have always been using Amsoil 0-20 only after the factory filled oil. Only two changes done and both at home.
I guess if they had updated everybody ECUs earlier after the launch, it’d have saved a lot of engines.
And I agree, the multimedia unit (manufactured by Techno) is crap. Have been hating it since the beginning. If your sunroof is open, you can’t see anything on the screen. The cameras are BS.
Build quality is not good for all the parts that have been manufactured locally. Tires were crap as well.

Averages are almost identical post update and RS. But power delivery is quite different in the two. 2017 ones are more aggressive 0-100 than RS.
Amsoil is famous among tuner boys but if you’re driving stock, Honda’s own 0w20 has been upgraded to SP rating synthetic oil which is just fine for 5000kms and stock tunes.
Yea initially a lot of engines got fried. And knocking issues were drastically large.

paddle shifts pay 220 to 222 km/h tak chalhi jati ha turbo RS civic 10 th gen with S gear wasay D aur S pay 207 to 208 km/h pay lock ha paddle shift pay jou setting ha is gari ki S gear pay company say wou 220 km/h tak limit set ha with a bit of slope or incline on road it reaches upto 222 km/h.

planning on moving from rebirth to vtec turbo (Not RS)
Apart from the known faults. There were no unexpected problems. After the ECU update & using hi-octane petrol. Changing oils at every 5,000km (0w20) it has been running fine.
Turbo has a problem of minor transmission oil leakage, so you should always change the CVT oil at 40,000km strictly or earlier.
Get your spark plugs cleaned every 20,000kms until replacement.
