BS logic. Geologically, Kathmandu ma drought is impossible. Yo licchavi period ko jatra pani haina…mallas practiced jatras like no one, look at similar jatras in uttarakhand India where mallas ruled likewise. Prithvi Narayan shah ko pala ma Gorkha ma Gorakhnath jogi basthyo gufa ma…Gorakhnath and Machindranath are contemporaries. So, this chariot tradition is not as old as this old man claims to be. Nepal ko so called experts and historians are nothing but some biased brainwashed fools.

@@IshitmypantsfullRainfall in ktm valley is due to snakes is a BS logic. So what causes rainfall in Pokhara? Or rest of the world ? Rainfall in our valley is due to condensation between Indian Ocean and our Himalayas. Hence, drought is impossible in valley. Prove me wrong. Secondly, Google ‘Karnatak hampi stone chariot’ looks strikingly similar to rato machindranath ko rath and guess what? Mallas were Karnat bamsi. Mallas ruled Valley from 1300-1800 approx. Next, Prithvi Narayan Shah was from 1700 and Gorakhnath was in Gorkha around that period. Btw Gorakhnath jogi and Machindra jogi are guru chela from Bharat India. Gorakhnath held rain is BS propaganda. No one’s supernatural, no one can do that. You’ve to be mentally twisted to believe such fiction.
I think I’ve made my point clear which is this jatra must have started in and around 1700, not 5th-6th century as this so called historian claims to be. Btw I’m a working brain not a troll and unlike anybody I verify answers. I’m not among people who blindly and faithfully follow the crowd and eat every shit that they throw. Critical thinking pugena bro timro…wa wa garera tali ta jasle pani padkaucha, kapal fuleko manche le ali ali English chadera podcast ma vanyo vandai ma kunai kura sacho huncha vanne hudaina. 😉 You know the truth is? …that it is an inherited tradition brought to valley by those Malla invaders from the South India, the drought region of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, where they’ve come from. And the rituals most probably was carried out by Machindra nath Indian jogi who wears red dhoti…a normal human being…not deuta or deity. Don’t believe me? Look up ‘ Chariot festival in Tamil Nadu’….you’r welcome.

@@devrajshakya Bro timro kura ma pani critical thinking garaun na ta. If mallas came from karnatak dynasti and brought the chariot festival, then they must have started chariot fesitval in Nepal in early years of their reign which is about 1200s. Because, they would have forgotten their south indian origin as generation passes. It cant be 1700. Also, the only thing machhindrnath chariot resembles with the south indian one is the shape of wheels. All wheel in the world has round shape and all chariots in the world have wheels bro !! Also, that indian stone chariot was made long after Mallas has already entered Nepal.
Also "Next, Prithvi Narayan Shah was from 1700 and Gorakhnath was in Gorkha around that period". This is like saying, Christinanity entered Nepal in 2000 AD so jesus christ must have been in Nepal 23 years back. really, dude?
The more important thing to understand is the diety is actually avalokitesvara ( or Padmapani Bodhisatva). You wont find a single local person in ktm who refers deity as machindranath. Its either karunamaya, lokeshwar, or Bunga dya. The term Machindranath was imposed probably during malla period.
As for age, this must have started in Lichhavi period, it was the time when bahals and bahils were established, Buddism fourished. Macchindrabahal (of 'rato machindranath'), Janabahal (of 'seto machindranath') were established during this period.

@@Nikesh977 You know GORKHA right? Gorkhali?? Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh? You see similarities? “गौ-रक्ष-नाथ” --अर्थ थाह छ? गाई गोठालो। that’s the literal meaning. A fkn cowherd in Sanskrit. Bro pani tyai Jayasthiti Malla le diyeko Sanskrit jaat bokeko newar ho jasto lagyo malai. Bajra-acharya?? Guru-acharya? Pradhan? Joshi? Or may be a Baidhya or Amatya? Or prajapati? What about Shrestha? Or may be Raj-upadhaya? Newars of valley have been played for generations and generations. Now they are like slaves to those crazy ideas otherwise why would they believe in Deities in Buddhism? When Buddhism purely is about “ATHEISM”, wisdom, non violence and equality. You sound like educated but very very superstitious. Bhoot le tarsaula ni feri raati??😂 Bro small advice… critically, rationally and logically analysis garnu vanda pahile superstition lai pocket vitra halni ho ki? Btw alikati history adhyan gara bro 😎. I mean history not mythology. Feri bro le bhoot ra deuta ko kura garera hairan parni hola? Mero ma critically aggressively criticize garnu vanda paile…Prithvi Narayan Shah and Baba gorakhnath ma alikati research garana hai? Hinyana vs Mahayana le pani ali rational sochni banai dincha. History on Jayasthiti Malla will also help you. La bro timi chai 3 centuries purano, India ko dhoti baba, नाथ (नाक चुच्चे) दारीवाल jogi Machindra nath lai avaloketeswor, bajrapani, manjushree deuta vandai dhogdai basa hai? 2500 barsa aagadi ko Buddha ko gyan chai राँगाको हाकु छोएला बनाएर पोलेर खाईसक्या होकी क्या हो?😂 Btw Bahal and Bahils are an upgraded versions of the word Bihar just like the words aama, ma, mata and mommy. Vihar became bahils and later they started calling it bahal. Charu-mati-bihar centuries later became Charu-bahil which eventually became chabahil. Which is 10s of centuries earlier than Machindrabahal. Bihar is lichhivi era word. Bahal is post Malla/pre shah period glossary😉।Even Wikipedia says Machindra nath jogi is from 10th century. No way, I don’t believe, that fukn dhoti is that old. I’m 100% positive he was brought in Nepal by the last Malla king of Nepal, Jaya Prakash Malla, around the same time he started Kumari festival before he was defeated by Prithvi Narayan shah.

      @@devrajshakya Relax pasa.
Machhindranath, gorkhnath, meennath, aadinath, are the saints of nath community , at Assam around 8-9th century.
We do not know when avalokiteswars were turned into machhindranath. This probably happened in those 'dark era' of Nepalese history, of which we know nothing.
And which portion from my comment is superstitious to you bro? can you pin point one? Dont, give irrevelent random informations, stay to the point !!
And, btw, you are calling machhindranath dhoti, who do you think avalokiteswar, Buddha are?
