    typical Haltech run a sale to clear old stock then release a new product without letting customers know and Improved product was in the pipe work.
    Have you seen their elite universal looms? 80 degree rated PVC insulation with regular bare copper strands for something crazy like $499. They don't mention the wire quality on the site.

    Question: if the motor leans out due to low fuel pressure. Which sensor would pick up engine protection first? Would it be the wideband sensor or the fuel pressure sensor?

      Fuel pressure would be more accurate but a haltech monitors both for extended engine protection

    When I saw them first I thought that this is the solution to my problem with Widebands and EGTs. But come to find out this is, as you mentioned not a real CAN system because it CANNOT be used with the standard Bosch Can bus and actually should not carry that name since it implies something that it is not, a CAN controller ...... all it is, is a proprietary HALtech bus system similar to a CAN bus controller. They are very expensive and I almost purchased 4 such Controllers which would have left me stuck with a non funktioning setup.
    Very disappointed about this since I have already a MS3pro installed.

    I'm planning on purchasing a Haltech Elite 1500 might be a stupid question but can i purchase this WB1? An a afr gauge would i be set to go? Or do I need anything else to make this wb1 work?

    How are Haltech terminating the CAN now with the DTM connectors?
    The CAN protocol IS available from Haltech, I can send the PDF if you'd like.

      @steelmesh Their old cables were 8pin with 6 wires, two of which enabled an on board terminating resistor on the device itself. I'm guessing the new system has a resistor built into the cable that is used on the last device on the bus.

    I don't want to be rude but these aren't really competitive with AEM's CAN WB controller (30-0310). They run about $170USD each. What's the benefit over the competition especially with the closed source CAN protocol? Haltech has them listed at $299 single ch and $450 for dual ch.

      @steelmesh Whelp I can use it on my megasquirt so I'm guessing it's open source. No hacking, was just an option in the can settings.
      I am forced to use AEMnet and have to disable the MS type can but it does work and will allow you to use the dash and any other AEM can products on the bus.

      @steelmesh I'm sure someone will but until then I'll have to stick to the AEM and MS stuff. I don't really have the time these days to decode a CAN protocol. HA

    What would cause my Haltech wb1 to read normal with a cold sensor but hot the Haltech gauge reads start at 12.5 all the way to 40.0 🤔🤔🤔

    I have a Haltech Platnium pro plug in, and have the older WB1 controller. I have not installed either the ECU or the wideband controller yet, but would it be beneficial to upgrade to this newer controller and sensor?

    • @hpa101
      @hpa101  5 лет назад +1

      I don't have the knowledge that Andre or Haltech has on their products, but I wouldn't think you would need to upgrade either of those just because there is something newer. So long as it all still ticks the boxes for your requirements, it's still a solid choice for you IMO =) - Taz.

    Funny question... but why is CANBUS only being used in the automotive industry ..now.. .... it's been around since the 1980's it's basically old school!!! But is treated like the next big thing!!???????
