Ah man, this makes me kinda sad. Chetumal is actually a hidden gem in my opinion. Laguna Milagros is beautiful. The Rio Hondo parks are nice. Taking a boat out to Tamalcab is a fun way to spend a little time. There are several sparsely visited Mayan sites nearby worth checking out. You missed out on hearing the howler monkeys while you explored Dzibanche without having to deal with other tourists or vendors. They Mayan museum may not be the best but it's still nice. I'm sorry for Chetumaleños that more people don't fully appreciate their lovely city but I'm happy that Chetumal hasn't been ruined like Playa del Carmen and Tulum. You guys definitely picked an awesome restaurant though, El Taco Loco definitely has great food!
These people know very little about Chetumal! Tiny little town? Not hardly. almost 200k! all franchises...big box stores...hospitals. etc. Typical gringo tourist.
Beautiful indeed but not boring at all. It's just not meant for people who don't enjoy quietness. I love my city Chetumal ❤️

I did go to Dzibanche, it was pretty cool and we had the whole place to ourselves. I would definitely go back to see what else Chetumal has to offer.
