What Chennedy did was NOT a basketball play and has no place in the game. Unsportsmanlike conduct and competitive spirit are two different things and shouldn't be treated as though they are the same. Down to 15pts per game on roughly 16 shots per game on 35% shooting from the field while having by far the highest usage amongst rookies and leds the league in turnovers… so to be fair in comparison to all other rookies who are at best 4th scoring options on their team, her per minute production was not close to the top 3 in rookies compared to Brink, Jackson and Reese. It improved with last night’s showing but that was against the worst team in the league. Clark will get better obviously but can’t really say the list was too far off. Just did some research:
    - Connecticut Sun (one of the top WNBA teams) HOME basketball tickets against the vast majority of teams in the WNBA cost between $50-$90 for lower tier seats around the court.
    - Connecticut Sun tickets for HOME basketball games against the lowly Indiana Fever cost from $200 - $400 for lower tier seats around the court. (via Ticketmaster)
OK ladies of ESPN. Please explain why this cost differential exists if it isn't for Caitlin Clark who you all hold in such low esteem as a player. It seems to me that she must be one heck of a player for teams to jack up their seating prices to watch her. And you can be guaranteed of a FULL HOUSE which would come out to say $200 for average ticket x 20,000 people = $4 million total for the game.
Let's lower that average price to include the nose bleeds - the lower tier averages about $300/seat and lets go down to $100 average for ALL seats in the arena. $100 x 20,000 people = TWO MILLION DOLLARS for EACH game around the WNBA for the team hosting Indiana. And I'm lowballing this number so as to not be accused of hiking up the prices. It's more than that number.
At an average of about $30 per ticket for all the other WNBA teams you get 11,000 people x $30 = $330,000. So $2,000,000 (low balling this number) vs $330,000. About SEVEN times LESS than Caitlin Clark's game. You all keep harping about all her issues but the league is already seeing the benefits. Now if only the other WNBA teams could draw 17,000 - 20,000 people per game. But you all are at ONE HALF of that number in attendance. How long does it take before you learn??!?!

I was at the game, over 20,000 people there for a Mystic home game, That team usually pulls no more than 5,000 and they usually play at a smaller arena, but Friday night it was like a rock star came to town, all the little girls who live in the DC area with number 22 Caitlyn Clark jerseys of shorts. I have never been to a WNBA game, well maybe one many years ago when it first started, but I paid $200.00 dollars to sit in the 100 section, but even the nosebleed sections were full. Caitlyn was amazing, even after the game when all teams left the floor she stayed to sign some autographs for these little girls and many in the arena were still there just to get a sight of her and when she left there was this ovation. This is an away game for the Fever yet over 20,000 people came and sold out the place more than came to a typical Wizards or Capital game. All the people who keep viciously hating on her have no idea what is going on in this moment. I just saw it first hand and whoa! It's a real phenomenon, not just the game and her play but an aura that is rare except for very specific athletes !

It occurs to me that the WNBA may have to put in some "Caitlin Clark rules", just like there were rules put in place for every other transformative basketball player (e.g., Wilt Chamberlain and his free throw shooting, Lew Alcindor rule on dunking, etc.). There's no sense in looking a gift horse in the mouth, and the W needs to protect and fully support Caitlin Clark. CC22 can help lift the league to a completely new dimension. It was Caitlin Clark who sold out the Capital One Arena, and virtually every other venue where she has played for the past year.
