Loved the video @Frantic! Would love to see you Fly the Douglas Boston Mk. III Agian at some point. The Boston Mk. III was an improved version of the previous Mk. II, having better Armor protection and more importantly, larger fuel tanks making them suitable for the RAF as Light Bombers, in addition to having the same engines as the Mk. II being the Wright R-2600-A5B Twin Cyclone Fourteen Cylinder engine allowing for a top speed of 344 mph (553.61 Kilometers per hour). These are also the same Engines used in the North American B-25 Mitchell Medium Bomber. The Boston Mk. III, among many of it's missions, took part in the Attacks on the German Admiral Hipper-class Heavy Cruiser Prinz Eugen and Scharnhorst-class Battleships Scharnhorst and Gneisenau during their dash through the English Channel (Operation Cerberus, "The Channel Dash" as it's more popularly known as) and the Raid on Dieppe (Operation Jubilee). The fact that these aircraft took part in trying to stop the Channel Dash has just given me an Idea for a later video. But first, Torpedo run suggestion: try flying in at about 50 Feet (15.38 meters) high and no faster than 120 knots (138 mph or 222.08 Kilometers per hour) and dropping the Torpedoes when the Target fills up most of the window/target screen, as well as giving them enough lead. You can then circle back around slowly so that you can see whether or not they hit. Video Idea: Operation Cerberus… But in Stormworks! Yes, The Channel Dash in Stormworks! The German Naval Forces will have to travel from the Islands South of the Sawyer Islands North towards the Arctic while the German Air Forces have to fly out and Protect the Naval Units. The British Naval and Air Forces need to stop the German Naval Forces from Crossing the Area Between the Multiplayer Island and the Islands to the East of the Northern Sawyer Islands (The Islands where you took the USS Huron and kept getting shot up by the AI Ships). The German and British Forces for this are as follows: German: The Heavy Cruiser Prinz Eugen, The Scharnhorst-class Battleships Scharnhorst and Gneisenau, Narvik-class/Type 1936A Destroyers Z25 and Z29, Type 1934A Destroyers Z5 Paul Jacobi, Z7 Hermann Schoemann and Z14 Friedrich Ihn (Making up the 5th Destroyer Flotilla), a couple of E-Boats and from the Eastern Airfield are 16 Messerschmitt Bf-109E's to fly Fighter Cover. British: Supermarine Spitfire's to fly Reconnaissance at the Start and Fighter Cover from the Creative Island, Boston Mk. III's and Swordfish Torpedo Bombers flying from the Multiplayer Island, Admiralty type Destroyer Leader HMS Campbell (D60) and Admiralty V-class Destroyer HMS Vivacious (D36) (Making up the 21st Flotilla) and Admiralty Type Flotilla Leader HMS Mackay (D70), Admiralty Modified W-class Destroyer HMS Whitshed (D77) and HMS Worcester (D96) and W-class Destroyer HMS Walpole (D41) (Making up the 16th Flotilla) based at the Creative Island. I'm sorry if this is a long read man, I spent about 4-5 hours typing this up. Can't wait for the next video man!
Love the vids! I love the search and rescues the most but i also love the daily content keep up the good work! I could also see a giant formation of these with friends going against the ai
I'd expect torpedoes to be the most effective weapon in this dlc because of its ability to explode below the water line of the target. I have seen surface ships hit each other with shells and other weaponry and it does damage but is not so good at sinking the target in most of the vids I've seen so far.
I think the issue is that you're not leading your targets far enough, and you haven't really test runs or trial of the torpedo dropping from aircraft, but you probably need someone else to help you for the latter.
@Ass Tumor I think he also was a bit to high. Well its hard to drop Torpedos in stormworks. It needs good planing (not like here) and a lot of patience.
Why do you aim centre for a moving target? A torpedo pretty much never goes above 100 kmh while such a modem destroyer does 40 kmh + (56 kmh max (combat maneuvering)) (30 - 40 kmh cruising speed). If the torp hits the water at a distance of 500m it will take it 18sec to arrive in this time the destroyer will have moved 198m about 1.28 x its own length..........so you would still have missed if you aimed at the front.
@@FranticMatty not to be rude or anything but what he is describing is essentially leading the boat, you'd wanna aim in front of the boat unread Instead of for the boat
if you want them to work you need to test them for shallow water travel and reduce your speed to 165KPH and below the shallow water test will show you how fast they travel once you can figure that out it will be much more easy p.s u need a boat with a speedometer as well to gauge the speed so it the equation formula F x M = S F = friction AKA how you or the item reacts to the water after contact M = mass S = speed
It killed me to watch him drop torpedos at 350kmh.
The term “low and slow” is there for a reason 😂😂
Low and slow eh? Nah i disobey that term
i was actualy waiting for the warhead to explode and him trying to understand what happend

You need to be low, slow, and very close to get a hit on a moving target
You need to get closer to the boat to drop the torpedos. When far away, they are not accurate.
True.

3:21 In real life they used forklift to load torpedoes but in stormworks there is 101 way to load torpedoes
when are you going to make a vid with the clusters?? im lookin forward to it
yeah me too

You're working this out in irl terms, this is Stormworks xD

@@mrcrunchies8688 Indeed... However I was flying at a million miles an hour... The torpedo would have carried my speed too :P But you are correct, yes
@@FranticMatty ah yes you're totally right, I forgot that prop planes go warp speeds in this game lol, I've always found that a bit weird
Well I still enjoyed the vid anyways
Make a detonation sensor facing up so it triggers when the torpedo is under it which guarantees maximum damage

Any chance of a video weaponizing the Japanese fighter you made and used in Rogue mode?
