    First off I want to thank you for the lecture during this years MAGNETOMforum. Great lecture.
    I have an off-topic questions regarding DWI resolve of the brain. We have a Siemens Sola XA 30.
    According to literature(phantom studies) you affect the ADC-values by having sub 8000ms TR without using a diffusion prep pulse(similar to driven equilibrium in TSE), but if you utilise a diffusion prep pulse, you can use a considerable lower TR without affecting the ADC-values. Our sequences utilises a TR of approximately 9000ms, but if I load a DWI sequence from Siemens it has TR of 3000 which suggest to me that Siemens utilises a diffusion prep pulse.
    Do you know if Siemens applies a diffusion prep pulse to it's DWI sequnces and if its possible for the operator to select the use of it or not ?

      Thanks for reaching out. I’m not sure if siemens have pre pulses on dwi. I Will take a further check on this one.

    I think I generally use the large flex, or ultra flex depending on what scanner I’m on. It’s a bit tricky to manage the cables, but the coverage and signal is pretty solid. I wouldn’t have thought to use the shoulder coil with the spine coil, mostly because using the shoulder coil base raises the chest a bit off the table and further from the spine coil

      True. Also had this in mind until I tried it. So I was surprised. Just want to share ☺️

    @bac nguyen - I need this done but some imaging places say they can't do a scapular mri. What do I ask for or need to know to find the right imaging center for a scapular MRI? Thanks.

      hi, this really depends on where you are located. most places do mri scapular. here in norway, we discuss our issue with our doctor, and then he/she send us to the right place for imaging. but widely i know this is done differently from patient - referring doctor - to imaging.

    Does a scapular mri catch the shoulder as well?

      Yes. But remember a dedicated shoulder use different angulations.

    Hello, 1 month ago I felt that my trapezius muscle tore off the bone. I would like to know if this scapula MRI shows the trapezius muscle tear or not since I did a thoracic spine MRI but nothing was shown.

    • @Nguyen_MRI
      @Nguyen_MRI  8 месяцев назад

      Thoracic spine i don't think will show your problem unfortunately. You need a decicated exam for that muscle. With other sequences / protocol compared to a routinely thoracic spine.
