YOU SAID IT RIGHT! People call Kuroko as a superpowered anime, because of the skills of the players, but these are existing skills. As you said, it is just exaggeration of an existing thing. Like, I would say, the only "weird" thing in these skills that these boys are 16-17 years old, and they have a talent of an NBA player. Which, yes, a bit overpowered I would say, obviously it is not THAT realistic, but it is not like they have superpowers! Every single move you will see, exists in real life, and the only difference is, that in real life, there are no flashlights and slowmo to show the skill itself clearly. xD Like as Kuroko passed, there is a "lightblue flash" following the ball, as if it was like some inhumane movement from Kuroko, but those are just a helper for US to see, what exactly is happening, how and where the ball went, etc. It might seems more like superpowerish with these effects the animators put on the skills, but it is just a bit on the edge of being too much, everything is still doable for some people in real life. Thank you for saying that!
But even if you would call it superpowers, the show is still hype af. XD I cannot wait for those episodes that are my favourites. :D You will lose your minds. :D
They're definitely well beyond NBA skills. The shots these guys hit, the plays they make, NBA players can do maybe 20% of the time, and they're doing it 100% of the time. For example casual halfcourt Midorima shots with 100% accuracy, even Curry's not hitting those at maybe over 10%-20% in a real game situation with defense. Or Aomine's behind the backboard shot is a last resort hail mary shot that sometimes goes in, but he makes them casually at will. But it's much more realistic than 99% of anime out there.
Also their description of being in the zone only being for top level players isn't exactly correct. Even casual players can get into flow state, its just not going to be as impressive as an NBA caliber player in flow state.
@@jayjacobl4667 Didn't I say, it is an exaggeration of the existing skills? My comment meant to show, that these are not superpowers to the extent, that no living person can perform them, but I agreed that it was a bit overused, for the sake of the show.

While I don't think there exists official statements on which player each character is supposed to be, we do know which team they would play on.
In 2017 Kuroko no Basket did a collab with the NBA to advertise the upcoming movie.
In this collab we get to see 8 characters wearing Jerseys of NBA teams with their numbers on it.
Kagami for example would play for the Chicago Bulls and Kuroko would play for the San Antonio Spurs.
KNB is one of my first (and favorite) sports animes!! Despite being an older anime, I recently traveled to Japan a few months ago and saw KNB advertising everywhere! Seems like it is still widely popular overseas as well.
It's crazy that Kuroko is now considered an older series because I still think of it as part of the new generation of sports anime.

Idk I feel like people who are hooping in dress clothes are either really bad or really good, no in-between. Best sports anime imo. Haikyu was good, unfortunately it's about volleyball lol. This is a bit of a slow starter and gets waaay more hype later. Enjoy yall!

For me, if you compare Kagami to "Prime" Blake Griffin, then maybe you are right or wrong. My opinion, no one in Generation of Miracles+Kagami are really similiar to NBA Superstars.

In my Opinion Kagami is not BLAKE PEOPLE MAKE THAT COMP BUT ITS NOT really there!!!!!! he is more like Giannis!! works best in transition he is a physically gifted freight train that is also nimble while possesing destructive explosive force he can weave around people and get in the paint and YAM IT ON ANYONE!!! and over time he started adding more things to his game like passing how to take over games becoming unstoppable when your team needs you being a rage monster when your feeling yourself and flexing and screaming after your poster dunks HE IS GIANNIS!!!!!!!! and he isnt the best shooter but he will hit the shots when you need em most and he has to like Giannis where as blake was actually a decent shooter
Sure but this anime was out before giannis was even in the league, also some of kagami's signature moves are literally 1 for 1 the same as Blake's. Also Kagami's is more known for his jumping ability and air control which is more like Blake/jordan, giannis is tall so he doesn't need to jump that high.
But he still does jump that high people dont realize just how high giannis jumps cause he is 6'10 6'11 he has jumped over 6'6 tim hardaway junior for his most iconic dunk lol in game also kagami doesnt need to jump high either only person who could challenge him in the air was aomine and then murasakibara cause of height a lot of players are known for jumping out the gym its a staple tool people use to get into the NBA lol but to make a comp you cant just comp what skill or talent the whole thing has to synergize at least as much as possible and Giannis in my opinion synergizes the most with kagami and also the comparisons are still going on till today as this obviously is showing and they still are picking blake @@QMS9224
