Turns out my conversion to KG is somewhat off 😂, I dropped .14kg not .05 😎… also, realising that my zone 4 HR looks weird, this is a fault with Garmin by the looks of it - as I don’t set the zones.
I’m so glad I found you! I’m a runner too. Your pace is much faster than mine but I’m so happy to find another runner on GLP1. Good for you! Your times are great!
Thanks Paul, she’s slowly on the mend - managed to get the first bit of food in her this morning since Thursday. She’s getting a little bit more stable in her feet too (still being carried outside - but I’m starting to think she enjoys that bit!!!) 😊
Brilliant to watch mate. We are following closely and started our journey a week or so after you. It gives us something else to look forward to and be inspired by. Don't forget that mate. Best wishes to your amazing dog too. Wishing you continued success and a wonderful safe and healthy New Year.
Lovely to meet you too, Freddy and I look forward to watching your updates in 2025. You’re an inspiration. I’m sure I’ll see you again at parkruns and running events next year too. I’m sorry to hear about your dog too 😢.
I think staying on 5 mg is a great idea……. 5, 10 & 15mg are the only Maintenance doses…….diet wise , good idea adding carbs a few days before a race…..brown rice would be better than spuds or even sweet potatoes( not actually a potato but a yam) both are Complex carbs…….Spuds, tomatoes, peppers any chillis/ powder are all nightshade veg & cause inflammatory reactions in the body & are hard to break down…meaning water retention. Keep up the good work Freddie….you are doing a fantastic job👍
Nice mate, a loss is a loss!!! I like your thoughts on the carbs I’ve started jogging 2-3times a week 3.5km it does take it out of me feeling drained and light headed sometimes might need to adjust what I’m eating I lost 1.1kg again this week but I would be happy to add a bit more food to feel better even if I lost less weight. Happy New Year
The % of people who did not gain weight over X-mas is around .00001, so the fact that you lost is wonderful and amazing. I love mashed potatoes, like you, so much that they make up around 80 % of what is on my X-mas plate. So happy to see you on your way to your optimum racing weight! NOW we will see the running that Freddy can really do! Happy New Year...and as always....GO FREDDY GO!
That is interesting about the heart rate and I hope a few extra carbs helps. I always have a raised heart rate at Parkrun as I am giving it laldy! Happy Hogmanay and here's to a great 2025 for you.
Remember that 1 gram of carbohydrate holds 3 grams of water, so the standard quoted 400-500g of carb stores is like 1.5-2kg total extra weight. It's on that magnitude anyway, so even if we say you went from 25% stores filled to 75% that'd be enough to completely throw off weight data
most importantly, i hope somehow your poorly dog gets as well as they can, such a hard time when these things happen! and yes, those roast spuds are very difficult to turn down, we are only human right?
0.3lbs is 0.14kg not 0.05kg mate, just saying lol 🫣😁. I just this morning had my second 7.5mg dose. I've lost about a pound in week 9 over Christmas. Not as much as I'd like, but better than expected given the extra I've been eating for Christmas (roast potatoes are soooo nice lol). Official weigh in tomorrow morning though, see the final scores for week nine then. My 10mg pen is on the way and should be here at the end of the week, well in time 😁 So far, assuming it's still just a pound tomorrow, I've lost 2st 4lb in 9 weeks, so pretty much on par with you, give or take a pound. Did you notice a significant plateau when you hit middle of week 7 and into week 8 with no change in diet and exercise? I did, it's easy to see on the graph. Trying to shift things up a bit now to get that needle coming down a bit quicker again.
Near identical results with me up to now , 0.7lb lost this week which I'm putting down to mad Friday. 4th dose of 5mg taken last night. Interesting what you say regarding your carb loading. Would you say the slowed loss was down to increasing the carbs or a few extra treats over Christmas ?
Yeah - fair point. I never touch them and just leave it to garmin. Definitely looks odd though

Maybe you have a faulty Garmin watch. Would expect to see Zone 3 70-80% of Max heart rate (MHR). Zone 4 80-90% MHR. Zone 5 90-100% MHR

Also the max threshold on zone 3 differs from your first run (171 bpm) to your second run (173 bpm). This means you were probably running a lot at 171-173 bpm on the second run which put the result from zone 4 into zone 3, therefore it’s not accurate to assume you lowered your heart rate. Hope that helps, good luck.

Welcome aboard Amy, I bet there is more of us out there - many just won't want to admit it 😊. I'm all for it - it's a life changer
11.45 kg in 8 weeks is huge. Keep up the good work. A little everyday adds up over time 😊
Well done on the loss! And I hope your wee dog gets better! Bless.
thank you - she is slowly on the mend ❤️🩹
Happy new year mate was mint meeting you this year at the town Moor Park run all the best to you
Likewise, Brandon! Happy new year mate
Oh Freddy, your poor dog. I’m glad to hear she’s improving. I hope she’s fully recovered as soon as possible. Take care of her and yourselves.

@ that’s good to hear (the eating, not you having to carry her out the house!). I very much hope to see her out on a walk with you soon.

Thanks Dean, have the best new year mate! I hope 2025 is amazing for you and your family
Starting my 5mg this week, 10 kg down in last 4 weeks.... feel good. Food noise come back a little so hopefully 5mg helps me push on.

Ah thanks Maxine! Sky is slowly improving - it’s a bit of road to go yet though.

She’s slowly improving, slower than we’d like - but we’ll take it
So sorry to hear about your dog.
thank you - she's slowly on the mend ❤️🩹
Good work. 2025 will be a great year!
Annoyed a missed Blyth links on Xmas day! Crap night sleep on xmas eve(must have been excited for Santa) meant I had to skip it.
happy new year to the parkrun volunteer? you in the future bud?
Ermmm… it’s the last ParkRun this year….

Yup, thanks mate - totally messed up on the conversion 🤣. Over 2 stone is incredible loss! Congratulations 🙌

100% to the carbs… there’s been plenty of them eaten though
Your heartrate zone 4 is 174-175? Seems a bit odd.. 😅 Nice run!
