I couldnt tell from looking at the video. Are the bottom pins "crowned" on top like the LAB .003 series? ASSA used flat top bottom pins until 1988. Not sure about the top pins. I talked with several people at ASSA including a sales guy that was a locksmith for 30 years and they have only 1 style bottom pins that fit all locks. No serrated pins. Spools that are grooved on both ends. The old style were grooved on 1 end only and are no longer available. There are only 4 spool sizes available. There are drivers that are plain and also for the IC type that have a recess in the top of the pin for the spring to rest. They do have I think 10 or 12 master pins and wafers. Some can be used for plain drivers. The pins from ASSA today are made of nickel silver. Pretty hard stuff. Not sure what is in that 5 pin cylinder and the slight taper on the drivers are rather odd. Not sure if they were made like that or if they are a softer material and have taken that shape from pure use and wear.
I'm so excited... there is a guy selling assa 600's without keys for 6$ a piece. I just purchased 6 of them and can't wait to pick them and then make some fun challenge locks for people. ;P I'm already going to be sending one to Bill..
hackeritalics The guy on Ebay selling ASSA's are not this same model. His are 6 pin with the old style spools on all 6 pin chambers. 5 of the pin chambers in the plug are counter milled. I have several of those from him myself. You might as well order a key from him. It's nearly impossible to find blanks. And if you do, they really need to be cut on an ASSA machine. I found that out the hard way.
jimu57 Oh yes, I know that they are different... Also, I don't have much interest in selling the things and let's face it.. most of the guys I intend to send the locks to don't need the keys. haha
Don't we all. ^^;; I thought I was pretty decent, then I started picking some of the euro locks and realized I was only good at the crappy locks we all have in america(that seem to all be made in china.) One these days I'll be able to pick good locks like these guys, but I might be all wrinkly and grey when it happens. lol
I have an import Master 4 pin Master padlock. One of the cheap ones. Probably from China. The bitting on that is that the pins 2 and 3 set really low and pin 4 (back) sets really high. I cant rake it. I have spp's it a few times. I have 2 locks but 1 key. If I can get a key cut, I'll send it to you. I am sure you can pick it easy. I have a little trouble still.
mycket lärorik och intressant video med mycket bra innehåll. Jag tycker även att du pratade väldigt tydligt och bra. fortsätter du såhär så komma du bli en av världens största youtubers.
