One of those classics I had never actually heard but had heard about from my mother, one she remembered listening to as a young girl. She didn't know its title, which made finding it rather difficult for me. It was great to finally discover this gem.
My grandfather would play this on his huge tape player thing with all the lights off and just the fireplace burning and we would all curl up together my brothers and I and we would get so scared!! Perfect Halloween story!!
I used to listen to this radio show when I was a kid with the transistor radio in bed on the local AM station. The Mystery Theater with E.G. Marshall was so awesome.
Escape was a great series. And this is one of my fave stories. They did Three Skeleton Key three times (by popular demand) of which this is the second. It also won a sound effects award one year for the rat sounds. Another one that I absolutely love is Evening Primrose.
Vincent Price was priceless. And there’s nothing like a good ghost story! You might be interested in this one, “The Odd Lot” and two others listed under “Claude Chabot Presents” right here on YT. Just follow the link here and enjoy! ruclips.net/video/tjMKxhE-elw/видео.html--Claud.
Does anyone know of an episode where two men are on the road and see a figure in a house and they enter the house. After then enter the house they get stuck in there and the air gets sucked out of the room. I don't remember the ending or the name of the episode. Anyone have any ideas?

It was required reading in my 5th grade class. And yes, Mr. Price takes some liberties with the text, but He's Vincent Price...of course he did. I do the same thing when reading aloud because it makes it easier for me to add emphasis & character to the story. But when listening to an audiobook, I much prefer verbatim to embellishments that aren't in the original. However, this is, for all intents & purposes, the "real" story, written by George G.Toudouze
Woo hoo THANKS for my evening escape!!! Adore Vincent Price, he is so cool!
I totally agree I love and surprised myself he's one of my favorite horror actors
"A wind that smelled like death." Love old time radio and books really brings out the feeling of actually being there you know.

Could be "The Dark" segment of Arch Obloer's Drop Dead LP?
Done also on SUSPENSE.
If you want to contrite how you are living, this show won't allow it.
My Ela teacher had us read the script now we are losing and then we are going to role play
