Wouldn't want him doing my diff. Smashing the hell out of that pinion end bearing. Use a rubber mallet or old bearing race
Fantastic job. I would love to learn this kind of work. This gentleman seems to know this by heart. Unfortunately I this my cotter pins came out. Seen them on the diff fill magnet 😮!

Couple years ago I tried rebuilding my differential on my 1999 F150 with a kit I got from Advanced auto well I could never get the pinion gear and ring gear right so now when I’m driving, I let my foot off the gas in it makes a humming noise so now I’m just gonna replace the entire rear end
wouldnt want him rebuilding my unit
If I’m just replacing all the bearings on the pinion do I need to check backlash or can I just replace that while the diff is in the axle
