I love when you have a focus topic for your vlog video posted on the title. Because I am an ELA teacher, I knew to pay a little more attention to the explanations for road mapping. Usually if you are talking math stuff, I know I can grade papers and tune in and out while I watch. Love, love the road mapping explanation. Will definitely try that with my 7th graders. (and Hi from "The Ham")

Greetings. I just posted a comment to Bridget and read yours. Being that you are an ELA teacher, what are your thought about outlines vs. roadmapping?
My son is struggling with roadmapping. To help, I thought I should teach him how to write an outline because in a sense, outlines and roadmapping are similar. Then I thought of taking an essay and having him decompose it by writing an outline for it. I wonder if this (reversal) approach would help him get a better sense of it. Any thoughts?

Hi, Bridget! I started using the “Goal Work” system (I call it Target Practice) with my Grade 8 music students and it’s been working so well. The kids are SO into it and the immediate feedback is so good for them. I had one student who I had to keep sending back to practice xylophone before I would sign off on his work (in a positive way of course) and in his reflection he said “This activity taught me to be patient and to keep practicing.” My teacher heart ❤️
Seriously, thanks for the awesome idea. My admin had been singing my praises because of it too :)

naarahformusic that is amazing! You prove to everyone else that you can take ideas to make them work for you and your learners. I’m happy to hear that your students are finding the goal work process beneficial. Kudos!

Hi! We use Seesaw for our online digital portfolios. My kids absolutely love it. We implemented student led conferences a few years ago. They are huge success and a great way for students to really own their learning. You will love it! Have a great week :)

Attempting to do a board myself- 4,5 and 6 schedules are different in my building. As a sped teacher I pull from all 3 schedules - I have something similar but thanks from breaking it down.

Another great video! How do you differentiate for your gifted students? I am interested in getting some new ideas to enhance my gifted curriculum?

Greetings. I love your videos. Thank you for taking time from your very busy schedule, for these videos.

I always wonder if other people write two different “y”s like I do in one sentence! (On your schedule with picture day) 😝
