Still have mine, been in storage since '90, with about 15 Cartridge's. I'd probably need to do some contact cleaning on it, though it still looks in close to pristine condition. It also had an unusual TV switch hookup.
Do a video cleaning it up and playing some games that will be a good video
the best videogame in the world
Magnavox Odyssey 2 certainly holds a special place in gaming history with its unique and pioneering titles!
@@retroreplaysvault naa i will stick with the Atari and the PS5 ,,,, those games are shit .. man .. Even ET on the Atari ..beats all that lot ...
I have a box full of these games but no console. It got sold at a garage sale by my mom 30 years ago. She didn't find the games thank goodness!
With bowling, you can use the joystick to make the ball curve a little in its trajectory. And with games like Attack of the Time Lord, if you had the voice plug in, the game would speak to you.
I love that the bird pooped on the guy in Clay Pigeon.
Never saw anything that could make the 2600 seem like a graphic powerhouse but the Odyssey 2 seems to fill that role which is weird because it debut'd after the 2600 .
Odyssey 2 does have a unique charm! It's interesting how different consoles brought their own strengths to the gaming landscape.
You should try Fairchild Channel F then
@retroreplaysvault Funny as the Odyssey 1 makes the Odyssey 2 look like a super computer.
my local book store are selling some of these games complete in box as far as I know, for $5 each
That's a great find! Complete in box for $5 each is a steal - definitely worth picking up!
That’s cool
Holy damn i haven't seen one of these in 40 years 😮
That's quite a nostalgic trip! The Odyssey 2 has a unique place in gaming history.
If there's enough interest, perhaps I could try porting or adapting the original and exclusive games to more systems.
These must be the "Philips"game series sold in South America. I never even heard of Chez Maxime and others.
Remember how EXPENSIVE these were? Like $20 apiece! And Quest for the rings was $50!
But the smell of the boxes they came it! It was wonderful. Every once in awhile something will have the same smell and I have a flash back to the Odyssey 2. I have Quest for the Rings and Conquest of the World.
Some games do push the system reasonably well😁
It has the same sounds as the Atari 2600
I still have mine , unfortunately I'm missing the switch that switches from TV to game that hooked to the back of the TV. I also need a the plug that plugs into the wall and the game. Plus I would have to get an old TV to play it on.
It's awesome that you still have your Magnavox Odyssey 2! Finding those missing parts can be a bit of a challenge, but it's definitely worth it to experience the nostalgia on an old TV. Happy gaming!
@@retroreplaysvault Ebay is your friend
Hi can you tell me where i can get these games? Is there a online repository?
eBay 😂
Chinese Logic? I think Wang Computers was a real company. My half-brother and I played Magnavox Odyssey 2 in 1984 when he came home from "jail".
Wang Computers was indeed a real company, and it's interesting how gaming connects with personal memories. Thanks for sharing your unique connection to the Magnavox Odyssey 2!
I think you're missing a few.
Thanks for the heads-up! If you have specific games in mind that you think are missing, let me know, and I’ll look into it.
😱 ol school
Definitely old school! The Odyssey 2 is a true classic.
The people playing the games here are, um, not very good at some of them. Alpine skiing demo was a disaster.
Atari 2600 but better?
Both systems are great in their own ways! Odyssey 2 had some unique features, while the Atari 2600 has its own classic charm 👾
What an absolute load of shite
For some, it holds a special place due to nostalgic memories, even if it’s not universally appreciated.
