  • Descriptive video of Mirocopter SCH-2A autorotation and circular turns. The counter-rotating coaxial configuration give you a 20% slower decent rate in autorotation. The high inertia rotor design of the SCH-2A is more for giving when entering autorotation. ‪@coaxman‬

    More stability noticed in coaxial roter compared to traditional single roter copter.

    I'd be curious to see what an auto to the ground looks like. The descent rate looked pretty high.

      That's the really BIG question here.....if it can autorotate at least as good as the mosquito it could be very desirable little toy. without automation ability...a 2 stroke helicopter is a death trap.

    How long can this stay in the air fuel-wise and how high can you fly it? I want to fly it's either this or a Paramotor lol

    • @coaxman
      @coaxman  Год назад +2

      It can cruise at 50 mph for 1 hour. It will hover a 273 lb pilot out of ground effect at 5500'. It will hover that same pilot in ground effect at 6500'. You can fly in forward flight at much higher altitudes. The less you weigh the higher you can go!

    Any autorotation info and videos? That engine can't be trusted....what happens when it quits mid flight?

    • @coaxman
      @coaxman  Год назад +4

      This video happens to be a small autorotation with a power recovery. However, we are hoping to get an autorotation video from a much higher altitude in the spring. The Mirocopter has full cyclic and collective so it will autorotate just like a regular helicopter.

      @@coaxman How do you get yaw control with no tail rotor?

    • @coaxman
      @coaxman  Год назад +5

      @@southwestoff-grid285 Using the rudder pedals, the two tail vanes in the rear deflect at a 45 degree angle to give you yaw control in both hover and forward flight. In hover they deflect the downwash from the rotors and in forward flight they deflect the air moving across them horizontally.
