My dad had a 1963 Cadillac sedan, I don't know what exact model it was. It was my dad's last car, bought used around 1971. I was only about 7 or 8 years old when my mother got a accident settlement and they bought the car. It was used for Sunday drives, special occasions. I remember my family got a 6 foot tall Xmas tree, the last fresh cut tree we had. My dad put it in the trunk to bring it home. And yes the trunk lid was closed too. My dad died just after my 10th birthday. My mother got a cash offer that was almost equal to what they bought the car for and we needed the money so she sold it. The guy wrecked it not long after. Wish I could afford one today. Even just to remember the Sunday drives with my family. I'm the only one still alive today. Just memories and photos.
He has something to be so proud of and over protective of at same time times two, some guys are the luckest and the coolest, by material means of things...
The Escalade, ATS-V, CTS-V, CTS-V Sport Wagon, CT4, CT5, and CT6 are all nice, too, as are the post-war Cadillac cars of the late 1940s to early 1950s.
Dennis, thank you for taking us along on that tour of Rick’s collection. The interview with him on how the collection came to be is interesting. It’s nice to see such a large collection of original survivor cars that aren’t always the vettes or Ferrari if that time period.

I’ve been following Dennis, and Rick and his dads collection the last 20 years. These cars always bring back memories. At Age 17 I bought my Dads Uncles 1973 Fleetwood Brougham in Excellent Condition in Root beer brown With a Cream Colored Top. Even had the Giant Extended Chrome on the front of the hood with the Flying Goddess that really made a statement. My School teachers were jealous of this car. The Principal of the School had the Guidance counselor call my mom and dad to tell them Spoiling me with such gifts was going to ruin my life. What the teachers didn’t know is I had starting working at age 14 and saved my money. I worked Full time after school and weekends and more hours during no school time. My mom gave them a mouth full. They shut up after that! Lol. I loved that car. I drove it 30 miles each way to work in 1979 I was spending $70 a week in gas in 1979! At 99 cents a gallon. I would of kept the car and stored it with 40K miles when I traded it towards a New Cougar XR-7 that was a piece of junk.Love watching you guys always a Class Act!
I know that feeling of remorse when you trade a terrific car for one that turns out to be a piece of junk. It has been 35 years since that happened to me, and I still regret it to this day.
@@citibear57 I was 25 years of age and picked up an outstanding 1963 Lincoln sky blue with only 60,000 miles in almost excellent original condition. From the Atlantic City President's Day weekend classic auction this car was not on the auction block it was sold privately on the side from the original owner who was in his 80s at the time. I bought it in February drove it from Atlantic City to Massachusetts with the man's plates was afraid that it would break down because the freezing temperatures below zero and the winds were howling. That car impressed me so much and boy did I love it with the suicide doors. Also had ice Cold Air conditioning was a pleasure to take on small trips I kept it covered outdoors but unfortunately winter was rolling around again and I didn't want to leave it outside with a cover on it and I sold it for just a little more than what I paid. That was was a long time ago in the 80s the guy that bought it from me was a multi-millionaire in Connecticut who drove up in his brand new S Class at the time. I followed him back to Connecticut saying the whole way to myself I shouldn't be doing this I should be keeping this car. I got one final photo in his driveway which was more like a road with the huge gates to the property that I thought was his house. His house was down the road some more. It was his garage housing more than 36 collector cars his 9-year-old son who came with him to look at the Lincoln wander through my condominium into my bedroom in my dresser drawers while I was in the living room with the dad negotiating. The kid yells from my bedroom. "Is this how the poor people live Daddy?" The father replies "not everyone is as fortunate as we are son" as I'm looking at the three giant diamond rings this man has on his hands, and I was very upset He let his kids go through my things. He purchased his car because he wanted to be chauffeured in the Lincoln by his driver. All the time telling his son that this is another car he will be given someday.
I had a ‘73 Fleetwood Brougham d’Elegance (what they used to call the 60 Special) that was this color I believe. The brochure referred to it as Sandalwood. I called it Gold. It was a great car!! I bought it with 124,000 miles on it and it ran like crap. It sat at the Buick Dealer for months. No takers. So I finally stopped in and inquired about it. The admitted that it didn’t run right and said they had done everything they could think of including putting a brand new Rochester 4 Barrel Carb on it. Well I went out and we opened the hood and he went and started it and it was missing terribly. But I saw something that just barely caught my eye. I asked him what he was asking for it and he said $1,000. I said I’d pay $750 and that was it. He said we paid 350 for the Carburetor. He went and checked with his Boss and came back out and said; “it’s yours”! I drove it home about 1 mile away and checked to see if my eyes had deceived me. No they had not!! The Distributor Cap was loose. It was obviously new but was badly scarred. I put it on correctly and it fired up and ran as smooth as a kitten’s purr. Drove it bad up to the Dealership and let him see that it was running right!! He was flabbergasted! Of course he wanted to know how I’d fixed it. So I told him. He said, “Dang it - that’s the last time I use them to detail an engine!” Their loss, my gain. I had that car for about 6 years and drove it all over the country. It had ABS Brakes and an Airbag as well as HEI Ignition. A rare bird. When the brakes finally went I sold the car with 193,000 miles on. The ABS system was too expensive to repair. That car weighed 5,800#s!! Rode like a dream!! Great Car!!
I'd love that 71. I owned a 72 Sedan DeVille many years ago. Dark brown with a cream top. Gorgeous car and fantastic on the highway. The Cadillacs of this era were True Caddy's for sure.

Wow never seen this car collector before. This man had a great upbringing simply because of the way he talks and acts. This guy is totally rich, has a good education along with his parents smartness and mannerisms. He talks like a regular guy, not showing off his wealth, speaks so anyone can understand him. Seems very friendly, would love to spend a day by him on a car museum tour hangout day ! Even his dress code is proper by not showing off his family’s wealth. Seems to be very appreciated of how lucky he is in life then shared it with everyone who is interested!! These two guys have just been put on my new subscription list today, what a nice treat today. My stars. My first car was the '63. White Coupe. Then I had a 71 Coupe. No video on this site has moved me as this one has. My deepest thanks. I want my 63, so I can drive my grandson around before I croak.

I had a nice 1963 coupe De Ville, Rosewood color. Bought it off a elderly lady in a trailer park in Chula Vista Ca around 1991. It had 49K miles on it. I changed the fluids, put 4 new tires on , washed it, waxed it it and drove it for a year around San Diego.
My Dad had the exact same '71 Caddy he bought new for seven grand, a fortune back then. Beautiful car he had for years. Glad it had positive traction, that got us out of the snow quite a few times.

I've got a 1976 Eldorado, convertible custom. She's all original, I believe it's an ASC custom, same front grille, same flying goddess hood ornament, and same faux Continental Kit trunk lid like the three El Deora cars produced across the years. Still gotta do some research, but she's definitely a one of a kind and I love her so. Never would have thought I'd want a 70s Cadillac, but it's an absolute dream.

They definitely have to me the most amazing collection of original car's. I'm a caddy guy myself. I had a 1973 sedan DeVille which was my grandfather's. when he passed I got it with 72,000 miles. It was stolen from in front of my house and never seen again. Broke my heart. I loved that car!
That collection is amazing!!! Very nice! That '63 is Bonkers. The '71 is absolutely gorgeous too! I have a 1964 Coupe Deville that I'm working on. Super stoked!!! I always wanted a 63 or 64 Impala but I saw the '64 Coupe Deville and said to myself, "I gotta have that." 😎

My dad had 71 coupe de ville, yellow with white top white interior I loved that car,I remember being 8yrs old and him selln it cause timing chain jumped and I cried cause I was soo attached to the car...he bought a 81 sedan de ille black with v6 in it,what a difference 😟
Awesome cars. In 1997 I bought a 1974 Miller-Meteor Criterion ambulance, which of course was on the Cadillac Commercial Chassis. It was an all original, low-mileage, one owner car, and I bought it in Denver. It was amazing in every way, and it was unusually well optioned by Miller-Meteor. As a Cadillac it had am/fm, but had climate control delete and full vinyl interior. I drove that back to NJ immediately after purchase. Unfortunately I overextended myself in the purchase and had to sell it after just over a year. But I have pictures and the memories at least. What a car.
I had a 63 coupe DeVille back in the early 90s. An Arizona car with redone interior and gorgeous chrome. Etc. beautiful car. I later sold it to buy a 65 Tbird convertible and sold that in 2005. I needed the $$$. I still have my 66 Toronado , 67 Landau Coupe and 70 Mark lll. The only thing I didn’t like about this Episode is that it ended! Lol. Very humble man with a great collection!
I loved this video as it could have been filmed in my driveway. About 5 years ago I owned a 1963 Coupe Deville in Aspen White and a 1971 Coupe DeVille in Duchess Gold, just like both of these Caddies. Both just as immaculate as yours. The 1963 was bought new at McCaddon Cadillac in Colorado, same as your 1971. I sold the 1971 in 2015 and the 1963 in 2018. Now I own a 1961 Coupe deVille which Dennis Gage gave me a thumbs up at a car show he attended at McPherson College a few years ago. Thanks for sharing this video, brought back so many great memories.

My best friend in junior high school, his dad had a new '71 CdV in triple misty green, and I loved when he would pick us up in it. My dad always had base model cars, so it was an otherworldly experience to waft along in that cool green interior with the a/c lightly blowing...you just felt lighter and refreshed at the end of the drive
My parents had the Sedan DeVille version of the 1971,...same exterior color but gold brocade interior..great car!!!! would love love love to see this collection in person!
We had the 59. Similar cloth and vinyl interior. As a teenager I cleaned the vinyl weekly with a soft brush and foam cleaner. Objective: remove body oils which yellow it and make it crack, and moisturize it. 12 years later, when my folks sold it, the vinyl was supple and white; interior and exterior looked like new.
I had a 64 Fleetwood limo , 68 ragtop Deville , 70 Eldorado in gold and a few more 80s Caddies. Loved them all and they drove like a dream. Great show Dennis ! When I started buying mine I never paid over 3000 and that one came from Florida, belonged to an elderly couple , and had 10,000 org miles . My friend flew from Massachusetts with 4 new whitewall tires and drove it back ! You gotta love these cars their a blast .
I have always liked these videos with Dennis and Rick. This one was especially great as they had a very leisurely time with each other as they thoroughly went over these two beautiful cars and many cars were also shown which in my opinion helped showcase how truly great Cadillacs were. Unfortunately, not anymore.

I was driving my 1975 Fleetwood 75 limousine when we met, but the conversation quickly evolved to the Talisman. I really do enjoy your presentations.
I had a 1971 Cadillac Fleetwood. Just 38,000 miles on her. One of the best cars I've ever owned. The A/C still worked on the original charge. Today, I own a 1976 Fleetwood. The clock still works and the A/C on this one is from the original charge too. The ride has no equal to any of the newer cars. It just floats.
Sooo beautiful! I loved his comment about how we are nostalgic about the cars that our families owned that weren't necessarily considered collectors items. Also love video the title - - "Land Yachts". My Dad was big on them - - Chrysler New Yorker, Chrysler Newport, Buick Park Ave. My Aunt had the Caddy, w/the fins, like they're driving, but 4-door.

51,300 give or take some dollars today money so still in the starting range for Caddy even now.

I've got a 1976 Eldorado, convertible custom. She's all original, I believe it's an ASC custom, same front grille, same flying goddess hood ornament, and same faux Continental Kit trunk lid like the three El Deora cars produced across the years.
Still gotta do some research, but she's definitely a one of a kind and I love her so. Never would have thought I'd want a 70s Cadillac, but it's an absolute dream.

They definitely have to me the most amazing collection of original car's. I'm a caddy guy myself. I had a 1973 sedan DeVille which was my grandfather's. when he passed I got it with 72,000 miles. It was stolen from in front of my house and never seen again. Broke my heart. I loved that car!

My dad had 71 coupe de ville, yellow with white top white interior I loved that car,I remember being 8yrs old and him selln it cause timing chain jumped and I cried cause I was soo attached to the car...he bought a 81 sedan de ille black with v6 in it,what a difference 😟

Awesome cars. In 1997 I bought a 1974 Miller-Meteor Criterion ambulance, which of course was on the Cadillac Commercial Chassis. It was an all original, low-mileage, one owner car, and I bought it in Denver. It was amazing in every way, and it was unusually well optioned by Miller-Meteor. As a Cadillac it had am/fm, but had climate control delete and full vinyl interior. I drove that back to NJ immediately after purchase. Unfortunately I overextended myself in the purchase and had to sell it after just over a year. But I have pictures and the memories at least. What a car.

I had a 63 coupe DeVille back in the early 90s. An Arizona car with redone interior and gorgeous chrome. Etc. beautiful car. I later sold it to buy a 65 Tbird convertible and sold that in 2005. I needed the $$$. I still have my 66 Toronado , 67 Landau Coupe and 70 Mark lll. The only thing I didn’t like about this Episode is that it ended! Lol. Very humble man with a great collection!

I loved this video as it could have been filmed in my driveway. About 5 years ago I owned a 1963 Coupe Deville in Aspen White and a 1971 Coupe DeVille in Duchess Gold, just like both of these Caddies. Both just as immaculate as yours. The 1963 was bought new at McCaddon Cadillac in Colorado, same as your 1971. I sold the 1971 in 2015 and the 1963 in 2018. Now I own a 1961 Coupe deVille which Dennis Gage gave me a thumbs up at a car show he attended at McPherson College a few years ago. Thanks for sharing this video, brought back so many great memories.

Love the '63's roof line. Appears to be a hardtop on a convertible. I never realized how the '71's front corner of the front fender maintains the vestigial style from 1950s. Enjoyable video. Thanks.

My best friend in junior high school, his dad had a new '71 CdV in triple misty green, and I loved when he would pick us up in it. My dad always had base model cars, so it was an otherworldly experience to waft along in that cool green interior with the a/c lightly blowing...you just felt lighter and refreshed at the end of the drive
My parents had the Sedan DeVille version of the 1971,...same exterior color but gold brocade interior..great car!!!! would love love love to see this collection in person!

We had the 59. Similar cloth and vinyl interior. As a teenager I cleaned the vinyl weekly with a soft brush and foam cleaner. Objective: remove body oils which yellow it and make it crack, and moisturize it. 12 years later, when my folks sold it, the vinyl was supple and white; interior and exterior looked like new.
Acres of sheet metal ! . Gotta love it…
I like leather more than vinyl. But various cloths GM used in the 1950s through the early 70s, I like the most.
I love a real Cadillac. Body on frame rides so much better.

I had a 64 Fleetwood limo , 68 ragtop Deville , 70 Eldorado in gold and a few more 80s Caddies. Loved them all and they drove like a dream. Great show Dennis ! When I started buying mine I never paid over 3000 and that one came from Florida, belonged to an elderly couple , and had 10,000 org miles . My friend flew from Massachusetts with 4 new whitewall tires and drove it back ! You gotta love these cars their a blast .

I have always liked these videos with Dennis and Rick. This one was especially great as they had a very leisurely time with each other as they thoroughly went over these two beautiful cars and many cars were also shown which in my opinion helped showcase how truly great Cadillacs were. Unfortunately, not anymore.

I was driving my 1975 Fleetwood 75 limousine when we met, but the conversation quickly evolved to the Talisman. I really do enjoy your presentations.

The white 63 is just incredible! I would say its my favorite caddy ive ever seen.
I had a 1971 Cadillac Fleetwood. Just 38,000 miles on her. One of the best cars I've ever owned. The A/C still worked on the original charge. Today, I own a 1976 Fleetwood. The clock still works and the A/C on this one is from the original charge too. The ride has no equal to any of the newer cars. It just floats.
Sooo beautiful! I loved his comment about how we are nostalgic about the cars that our families owned that weren't necessarily considered collectors items. Also love video the title - - "Land Yachts". My Dad was big on them - - Chrysler New Yorker, Chrysler Newport, Buick Park Ave. My Aunt had the Caddy, w/the fins, like they're driving, but 4-door.

Bought my ‘64 Starfire from Denver area, in mid 80’s. And it was exactly like Rick described. Gorgeous red interior, untouched by intense UV rays of other rust free climates.
