    • @AwesomeMinecraftG
      @AwesomeMinecraftG 5 лет назад +1

@Mohan Brishnev no. Stop trying to be funny by saying 'beat', you are not allowed to beat women. Men are the dominant in the relationship, the protector, thats pretty much everyones ideology.
If a father mistreats his son, does the son have the right to hit his father? Why not?
If a mother mistreats her daughter, does the daughter have the right to hit her mother? Why not?
If a teacher mistreats his student, does the student have the right to hit his teacher? Why not?
If a commander mistreats a soldier, does the soldier have the right to hit his commander? Why not?
The answer in all the above cases is: No, and the reason for this is clear. It is because the father’s position is higher than that of his son, the mother’s position is higher than that of her daughter, and the teacher’s position is higher than that of the student. Hence it is not appropriate for the people in the lower position to punish those whose position is higher. The same applies to husband and wife: the husband is in charge of his wife.
So no, and if you have a problem with the Husband seen as in charge, then go fight christianity aswell, since they also believe that the wife has to submit to the husband. Bye.

    • @AwesomeMinecraftG
      @AwesomeMinecraftG 5 лет назад

@Mohan Brishnev You missed the point. And tell me what is meant by 'beating' and under what condition? Exactly. And the analogies is reffering to discipling a person of higher status, not literally beating. Yes man and woman are created equal man judt has a higher role in the relationship, being the protector.

    • @AwesomeMinecraftG
      @AwesomeMinecraftG 5 лет назад

@Mohan Brishnev I wasnt saying its right, Im saying if you have a problem with that, then argue that with the rest of the world aswell. Ive never seen a normal relationship where the man isnt the higher role ie. The protector

It’s called the fallacy of presentism? If I see any women putting her child in grave danger I would personally intervene, it has nothing to do with being a husband or not.

    • @fredneecher1746

Be careful! Laying a hand on a woman under ANY circumstance allows her to accuse you of assault in English law. And you would be presumed guilty unless you can prove otherwise. Yes, that's English law, too. And a woman who abuses her own child will not think twice about doing that.

I am pretty sure he doesn't even know you and even with that, he wishes you good. But you directly insult without fully knowing him and you are being full of hate. If there is someone dangerous, it would be you. I am nor surprised just by the way you speak, you are atheist. Whats sad is people will go to all lengths to defend these barbaric acts because their “holy” books allow it. This proves religion can actually make people IMMORAL. If these people viewed these books as the word of mere man Im sure they would have enough common sense to differentiate right from wrong.

Khan Barmazid You've played yourself. That is satiricing the idea that punching is okay ever to anyone, which itself pays homeage to many of the traditionalist views when in fact punching anyone is an act of a coward. All the more evident is if you go and read this video's linked content, not only will Muslims justify it seriously but some even go so far to glorify it. At the very least the Western satirizers know they are playing a caricature, the Eastern practioners are dead serious. It should scare you as much as it scares me, but in the event it does not scare you we can all but wonder why.
There is a reason that EU scolded many of the developing Eastern nations for having many times higher rates of sexual and spousal abuse after which places like Iran made it quietly illegal for researchers to collect data. No data, no problem, politically at least. Topping on the cake is that even though few forms of violence has increased in Western nations due to increased public social awareness in reporting, overall the rates have been declining, while in many of these Eastern nations there has been little development in the rates. To be fair, recent decades have showed slight decrease overall so one can be hopeful.
Empiricism is tough, but it is extremely effective.

Oh it gets deep all right! No need to pretend otherwise and act like your moon god loves everyone. Here are a few peaceful tidbits from the Koran. Surely they are mistranslated here and mean exactly the opposite. If only I were not a kaffir and could understand the inherent loveliness of these verses (my kaffir brain is just defective and you know how it goes . . . Allah calls whom he pleases):
Quran (22:19-21) - But as for those who disbelieve, garments of fire will be cut out for them; boiling fluid will be poured down on their heads; Whereby that which is in their bellies, and their skins too, will be melted; And for them are hooked rods of iron
Quran (4:56) - Those who disbelieve Our revelations, We shall expose them to the Fire. As often as their skins are consumed We shall exchange them for fresh skins that they may taste the torment Lo! Allah is ever Mighty, Wise
Quran (56:92-94) - But if he is of the rejecters, the erring, then the welcome will be boiling water and roasting at hell-fire
As to what regard Muslims are to show for those who don't believe, the Quran says to be ruthless toward them, since they are going to Hell anyway:
Quran (9:73) - O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is the destination
Quran (66:9) - O Prophet! Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be stern with them. Hell will be their home, a hapless journey's end.

      1) 4:34 -> if a woman does it, the man can beat her.
      2) 4;128 -> if a man does it, the two CAN seek an agreement.
Note that this verse was revealed because Mohammad wanted to divorce Sauda (she was getting old and no longer beautiful), therefore she and Aisha came up with a solution: stay married to him (so that she would not end up homeless), but give up her day to Aisha, i.e. no sex with him, and the money she had the right to went to her

Dear Sameer, your remark at 1:00 was precisely what I thought when Hijab began pontificating about ancient versus present times. Indeed, during my seven years in an Islamic seminary studying 'Ilm-e-Deen, an essential lesson was learned regarding the thirteen Attributes of God: namely, the Positive Attributes (Life, Knowledge, Will, Power, Speech, and Hearing) are subject to the Negative Attributes (Existence, Oneness, Divine Alterity, Eternity [No Beginning], and Eternity [No Ending]).
As the Qur'an is the Manifestation of Divine SPEECH (a Positive Attribute), it must be subject to the ETERNITY of God, namely the Divine Speech has NO BEGINNING and NO ENDING. Thus, the Qur'an should be TIMELESSLY applicable to all times.
Yet, why then does the Doctrine of Abrogation (an-Naskh) exist?! Indeed, why would three distinct legal post-Revelation rulings need to be developed to:
    1. Abrogate the legal ruling of a Verse, but not its wording (An-naskh al-hukm dūna at-tilāwa)?; and/or
    2. Abrogate the wording of a Verse, but not its legal ruling (An-naskh at-tilāwa dūna al-hukm)?; and/or
    3. Abrogate the legal ruling AND the wording of a Verse (An-naskh al-hukm wa-'t-tilāwa)?
(refer to the excellent work of John Burton, The Sources of Islamic Law: Islamic Theories of Abrogation (1990) Edinburgh University Press).
Given that early Islamic theologians could not even agree on the number of abrogated Verses (e.g. Imam Shah Wali Allah [5 Verses], Imam as-Suyuti [21 Verses], etc.), it is small wonder 'modern' Islamic theologians relegate this issue to the God of the Gaps, dismissing honest questions with the typical witless response, "Only Allah Knows".
I mean, I asked this very same question to one of the most famous Sunni theologians presently alive (Shaykh Gibril Fouad Haddad):
Eternal and Infinite Speech and Abrogation
Posted on November 27, 2017 by Shaykh Gibril Fouad Haddad
    Question:
If the Positive Attributes of Allah (namely, Speech and Knowledge) are subject to the Negative Attributes
(namely, Eternity [No Beginning; No End]), how can doctrinal ‘naskh‘ validly abrogate (etc.) the Eternal -
    therefore, unchangeable - Divine Speech?
    Answer:
    It is Allah Who abrogates.
    Hajj Gibril Haddad
    eshaykh.com/doctrine/eternal-and-infinite-speech-and-abrogation/
    So, either
    1. the Qur'an is the Eternal Speech of God, an "Uncreated" Text, is applicable to every time and place (so much for daylight fasting in Antartica...), and is unaltered and perfect (thought which wife beating may persist ad infinitum), or
    2. the Qur'an is a temporal, created text, subject to linguistic ambiguity and errors (etc.), capable of being nibbled upon and erased from history by humble two-toed ruminants, of having the "new Muslim" category of Zakat being voted out of existence by 'Umar bin al-Khattab, of being read largely subject to Surah at-Tawbah (9:5), etc. etc. etc.
Indeed, if point 2. prevails, wife beating could have been abolished at any time in the last 1,000+ years -- not to mention slavery!

Neither did this person live in 7th century or has the mind of understanding those values for that time as our present human minds have evolved from domestic violence and I hope these people like Mohammed hijab have evolved as well.Only reason Mo Hijab is defending this verse is because he believes this is from the Creator of the Universe. Sayeda Ahmed hey Muslim Arab women are aggressive. That is why the Arab men began oppressing them with niquabs and all those modesty rules. Think about it. Mo’s wife Kadija was a boss, a business owner who managed at 45 , to get toy boy Mo to marry her. She was after young men and probably made Moe have sex with her. Moe probably had to beat her back. Also remember the Nabitians were Matriarchal. As a woman, even I do not get into fights with my Arab women friends. In the surface they are nice but under the burka they are alley cats waiting for a fight which they always win thru aggressive behaviour

I'm an ex Muslim born in UK England to a white British woman and Indian Muslim father . My mum died when I was 3 this changed my life as my father and his first Indian wife bought myself and my brother up . That's short version . While growing up I was sexually abused on the basis that I was the white woman's child . This was from the age of 5 to the time my father took me to India I was 13 by 14 I was married off to my uncles son he was 18/19 . I had no choice in this arrangement and gave in out of respect for my father and his name . I came back to UK 7 months pregnant gave birth when I was 15 exactly 9 months after my marriage . I never understood the ramifications till much much later but remember how heart broken I was when my first child was given the title illegitimate . I couldn't understand why they did this . I did 7 years later though when I understood that by UK law I wasn't old enough to be married and back then that's how they registered children born out of wedlock . In that 7 years I was beaten whipped and endured martial rape . When I ask my father to help he couldn't because Islam compled him not to interfere yet we lived in his house . Well I came away after seven years and that cost me alot . I had the marriage annulled and court have me full custody of our three daughters with rights for him to see them and have them weekend s. I beg the courts not to allow this as he would run with them . First chance he got he kidnapped them and never returned them . My own father helped with this and so my children were took because I couldn't cope with the beatings I got . His running joke was if I didn't beat her at least one time in a month she would be wild . I lost everything including my children . Much later on he was ready to free me Islamically and said he would free me if I forgive him my dowery . Yes emotional blackmail added to the offences . So this guy here is saying that it's not in Koran to beat wife till she submits or I woman can take him to imams or whoever and they'll do a case himmm yes what's changed since the 80s nothing I see just going round in circles trying to sound like women have rights . I was 21 when I came out of that abuse but even now at 53 the trauma and its effects have left an imprint on me that has impacted my life on a huge basis . After 35 years I met family again last year in India lived without any help whatsoever and now I'm getting oh why did you leave Islam . I've been a Christian by choice for past 19 years . It's only place I found peace and understanding. So please don't twist what Koran says to fit in your mould . Thank you Abdullah Sameer Bless you for standing up and bringing forth truth of Islam and its origins .

Good video, Abdullah. I would also add that judging pre-modern societies by today's standards maybe anachronistic but it doesn't mean they are of equal value. If someone today rejects Islam because they believe hitting women is wrong they are doing it from their moral stand point. It is Islam that has the burden of proof to demonstrate beyond all reasonable doubt that its moral standards are correct. If it cannot do that then setting such an excessive punishment for disbelief becomes utterly untenable.

Funny is how different apologists come how with totally different explications. Some say beating is permissible but it shout not bruise her. Some say that it should be like beating with a miswaakh ( in other words very very light). The energy used in The Deen video would have been better served advocating for the better treatment of spouses, and for the better treatment of women in general. The video is dedicated to twisting the meaning of words or phrases in an effort to smooth-over some clearly wrongheaded verse or religious tenet . The rationale of the "Wife beating verse" was specific, as was when physical abuse of a wife was appropriate, and it was not intended to be used only to save the life of a baby from an abusive mother. It was designed to keep a wife subservient through the use of intimidation and humiliation.

+jamshad nk Many verses and passages in holy books are open for interpretation and in some cases open to different translations. I think the best way to determine what is the most recognized translation and/or interpretation is how the verse is used in the society or culture. When it comes to basic human rights, Muslim cultures have the worst record for the treatment of women in the world. This comes through unbiased studies and data compiled over the last several years. The Pew Research Center is one source.

The danger in this verse of "beating a wife" is, it is too general and very subjective. Men can use this to justify their violence to their wives. It can be use even if it's just a simple matters where a wife refuse to listen to his husband over budgeting of expenses etc.....

There is also an imaginative interpretation of verse 4::34 by Dr. Shabir Ally in a RUclips video. In this explanation of the infamous verse, Dr. Shabir Ally puts his own slant on it. He says the verse isn't even about husbands and wives (even though the verse talks about "forsaking them in bed"). He says that the verse is about tainted women disobeying cultural rules, and the men with the proper authority being allowed to use physical force for disciplinary reasons.

@Bronze So you are under the impression that if hookers act in a nonthreatening manner then you have no reason to "forsake them in bed"? See, despite what you say, the Quran has these various steps concerning how to discipline an unruly wife, and that is what the verse is about. You can't twist it quite enough to make it about hookers.

I didn't realise you addressed this issue, until this video came up on my feed. I watched this interview with Mohammed hijab, a while back when I was just learning a bit about Islam. Was surprised the Deen show interviewed him, like he's some sort of scholar and authority. The Deen Show usually usually is informative, but Mohammad hijab is divisive.
Why don't the Linda Sarsours, Ilhan Ohmars acknowledge that in Islam sometimes women are treated very badly, with very little recourse?. Why don't they debate with knowledgeable people like yourself? They could really help the plight of their Muslim sisters who do not have the benefit of free speech, and who are struggling risking their lives for their rights.
Secondly I was really shocked about when he said, "if the mother is hurting the child, aren't you (the father) allowed to intervene." The verse is not about parenting. That's gaslighting. It also says a lot about his own personal life. "If the mother is hurting the child???" Why would you have a child with someone whom you had no confidence to parent? Parents should be united and responsible adults in co-parenting, put any personal disagreements aside for the well being and best interest of the children. If a man has children with someone he can't coparent effectively with, and be united in regard to structure, discipline etc. What does that say about him, as a person?
Hijab is basically the giant haystacks of his day, with Ali Dawar, his waterboy.

It is also somewhat of a Conjunction Fallacy to imply that under the guise of Moral Relativism a person can not make an Empricism based judgement. In other words just because you can say two different value judgements does not then mean those value judgements nature is subjective and therefore analogous and of equal value.
    For example:
Premise 1) I think killing people is okay.
Premise 2) I do not think killing people is okay.
The Conclusion C here does not mean that the two above represented values are relatively of the same value just because they were expressed. One of them can be objectively measured to be more valuable than the other viewpoint. Similarly saying " I think beating a woman is justified. " - is not on an equal footing with: " I do not think beating a woman is justified. "
Therefore the premise of the foundation of this argument is irrelevant, it has no basis in formal reasoning. I am quite certain it sounded a lot better in his own head but he is not as clever or educated as he thinks he is.
Sidenote: By making himself distinct other from those people who believe in women's rights, is he saying he does not believe women ought to have rights?

Yes.. we DO get to compare and criticize it As Much As We Like. Do you know why? Because those verses were delivered by Allah. He opened the show by relying on an Ibn Taymiyya quote, which evaluated the signs of prophethood. Taymiyya asserted that there are many false-prophets, such as Musailima “ the Liar,” a contemporary of Muhammad. Taymiyya concluded that many of these so-called prophets are, in fact, “possessed,” and that the only way to determine the authenticity of any prophet is by examining his biography (sira) and deeds, and see if he be found worthy of the title.
Being that this is the first of several episodes devoted to examining the concepts of morality and prophethood (with the notion that the former reinforces the latter), the theme for this particular episode was “purity” ( tahara): "Was Muhammad a 'pure' man?"-in this context, a question concerning his sexual mores (or lack thereof).
After the preliminaries, Botros looked at the camera and gave a stern warning: “ This episode is for adults only! I am going to discuss many things that make me blush for shame, so please: have the women and children leave the room.”
He then asked Muslims watching to keep in mind the question “Is this the prophet I follow?” as he delineated some of Muhammad’s sexual habits.
First, from the Qur’an, Botros read verses unequivocally stating that Muhammad is the paragon of all virtue and morality, such as “And most surely you [Muhammad] conform (yourself) to sublime morality [68: 4].” He further quoted the ulema, such as Ibn Kathir, all insisting that Muhammad was the “Noblest of all humanity, and the greatest of prophets.”
Botros and his ex-Muslim cohost-the priest had insisted that it be a man for this particular show, lest he be too ashamed to delineate Muhammad’s sexual habits-discussed Qur’an 4:3, which “limits” a Muslim's wives to four, plus “ what your right hands possess,” that is, slave-girls.
That was apparently not good enough for Muhammad, asserted Botros; an entire verse had to be “revealed” justifying more women for him (Qur’an 33:50). In fact, Father Botros has carefully compiled a list of all the women-66 are known-to have had sexual relations with Muhammad.
Botros said that was only normal: according to Sirat Al-Halabi,Muhammad can have a woman no matter what, even against her will; and if Muhammad desired a married woman, her husband would have had to divorce her. According to Ibn Sa’ad, who wrote another authoritative biographical account of Muhammad, “The prophet did not die till all women were permitted him” (see Kitab Al Tabaqat Al Kubra, v.8, 194).
The co-host, rather abruptly, interjected - “What of all those rumors that Muhammadexhibited homosexual tendencies?”
Botros dropped his face in his hands and mumbled, “So you stillinsist we discuss that?” The co-host was adamant, saying it was for Muslims’ own good to know everything.
Thus Botros, after profusely apologizing to his Muslim viewers, saying how embarrassing this was for him, declared: “Look! We’re merely readers here, bringing up what we have read in Islam’s own books! If Muslims don't like it, they should go and burn these books.”
The first anecdote discussed by the priest revolved around a hadith that, while some ulema say is “ weak,” is, nonetheless according to Botros, present in 44 Islamic books-including some highly respected collections, such as Sunan Bayhaqi and Al Halabi.
According to this hadith, a man named Zahir, who used to declare that “ the prophet loves me,” said that one day Muhammad crept unawares behind him and put him in a bear-hug. Zahir, alarmed, yelled, “Get off me!” After turning his head and discovering that it was Muhammad, he stopped struggling and proceeded to “push his back into the prophet’s chest-prayers and blessings upon him."
Another curious hadith contained in Sunan Bayhaqi and which traces to Sunan Abu Dawud (one of the six canonical hadith collections), has Muhammad lifting up his shirt for a man who proceeded to kiss his entire torso, “from his bellybutton to his armpits.”
Botros looked casually at the camera and said, “ Imagine if the sheikh of Al Azhar [nearest Muslim equivalent to the pope] went around lifting his shirt for men to kiss his torso” (he proceeded to make smacking kissing noises, for effect).
Said the co-host: “Surely there’s more?”
Botros: “Indeed there is. No less than 20 Islamic sources-such as the hadiths of Ahmad bin Hanbal-relay that Muhammad used to suck on the tongues of boys and girls"...
Botros proceeded to read aloud from various sources, such as a hadith relayed by Abu Hurreira (deemed an extremely reliable narrator), where Muhammadsucked on the tongues of his cousin (and future caliph) Ali’s two boys, Hassan and Hussein-they of revered Shia memory.
Next he read a hadith of Muhammad sucking on the tongue of his own daughter, Fatima. Fr Botros also added that the Arabic word for “suck” (muss) cannot, as some apologists insist, mean anything but “suck.” “After all,” added the perspicacious priest, “this is the same word used when discussing Muhammad’s 'activities' with his wives, especially his beloved child-bride, Aisha.”
With an extremely disgusted look on his face, Botros turned towards the camera and said: “Dear lady, imagine, for a moment, coming home to find your husband sucking on your daughter’s tongue? What would you do? It’s even worse: it’s your prophet-the most “morally upright” man, a man to be emulated by the world! A man who on record used to go around sucking the tongues of his wives, his daughters, and young boys: Are these the activities of the man described in the Qur’an as being the pinnacle of moral perfection?” Cohost: “More!”
“Muhammad would not sleep until he kissed his daughter Fatima and nuzzled his face in her bosom [the priest provided the appropriate sources]. Dear lady! what would you say to your husband sleeping with his face in your daughter’s breast-is that the height of morality?!”
At this point, Fr Botros, looking downcast, began apologizing profusely, saying he could only imagine how all these anecdotes must be troubling for Muslims, to which the co-host reassured him: “It’s not your fault, father, but rather the fault of those Muslims recording these vile incidences. Either way: Muslims must know. More please.”
Botros continued reading more revealing hadiths, including one from the Musnad of Ahmad bin Hanbal, which records Muhammad seeing a 2-3 year old girl in her mother’s arms. Muhammad was so “impressed” by her that he said, “By Allah, if this girl reaches marrying age and I am still alive, I will surely marry her.”
Another hadith goes on to say that Muhammad ended up dying before this particular girl reached marriage age, to which the by now vexed priest, unable to contain himself, exclaimed, “Awwww! Poor prophet! He missed one!”
Botros then told viewers to keep this last hadith in mind, for “context,” as he read another hadith from the Sunan of Bin Said, which records Muhammad saying “I hugged so-and-so when she was a child and found that I greatly desired her.”
“What prophet is this you follow?!” cried the outraged Coptic priest. “Where is his morality? This is the man that Muslims follow slavishly? Use your minds?!”
It was late in the night, yet Fr Botros was not done cataloging his findings regarding the prophet’s “sexual” habits (these shows are an hour and a half long). So, when he moved on to ahadith depicting Muhammad laying next to a dead woman in her grave, as well as pointing to hadith categories called “intercourse with a dead woman,” I happily turned off the satellite and called it a night-till this moment, as I am (somewhat reluctantly) revisiting my notes to prepare this report.
