  • Julian Love had a really impressive year in 2023 but there was one stat that surprised me. In todays video, I dive into why Julian Love gave up so many yards in 2023 and how that might be fixed under Macdonald.
All stats sourced from PFR. I would highly recommend this website as a great free resource for basic and advanced NFL statistics.

Wow, a Seahawks channel that does real breakdowns instead of just asking for subs and likes. So refreshing.

Agree. I think Love has great football speed. He's one of they guys I think Coach Mike will use to great effect.

Get Jamal and Quandre outa here and pair Julian with Geno Stone

Geno stone can’t tackle and was consistently being benched by the ravens even though he had 7 ints last season we really don’t need that in our secondary

I’d be fine if they cut diggs and adams and just put jarrick reed comming off injury back there at this point lol

Even though we only have 1 true blue chip player (witherspoon) on defense most our defense is above average and should very well be at least middle of pack if we add another blue chip dlineman and get nwosu back who you could say is.blue chip then there's no reason not to be a top 10 or 12th best defense great film breakdown love your vids so far can't wait start my youtube channel almost ready soon as I get my webcam

I agree mostly however I think that he needs to up his game reading the qb and shifting from single to deep more effectively.

Also, having Clint Hurtt in the rearview mirror as you made note of, will be a step in the right direction.

Yeah that was pretty rough last year. In watching film there is just so many times when I just burst out laughing because the defense either wasn't designed to cover a very simple 2 man route concept, or no one on the hawks new how to run the coverage. Both don't make Hurtt look good at all. There is a reason why he is back to being a Dline coach. Best of luck to him of course but last year was pretty rough and I'm glad he isn't DC anymore.
But also, I have to put some of that on Pete. I mean right now we have Mike Macdonald, Leslie Fraser and Aden Durde. Saying that your former Defensive line coach is enough talent in your defensive coaching room is kind of wild. The fact that Pete didn't go out and gather up defensive minds like Mike Macdonald has done this year is probably equally to blame for the poor results.
2024 is going to be so much better.
      Thanks for watching!

Again, your knowledge of pro football and schemes is astounding. Your use of technology to highlight what you're teaching us is so effective. Are you secretly an offensive coordinator for a NFL team? You could be :)

I really appreciate the compliment! To be completely honest, I have learned everything from tons of nerdy RUclips videos and online research. There is so much good stuff out there, if you want to learn more Brett Kollman is a great place to start (he was how I got into the nerdy side of the game that I love so much). Thanks for watching and your kind words!

I appreciate your humbleness and willingness to give credit to someone else (and I'm on my way to check out Brett Coleman), but you are still a really great teacher, and that is a rare gift. Keep it up brotha!@@The_Legion_of_12s

Noticeable increase in quality. A variation in background highlights would accentuate even more

Love will be retained- Adams (both) and Diggs will be released. Bush, Dissly, Mone, Taylor, Eskridge, Wagner will also be released.

Yes to everyone except Bwag. He's actually a free agent and I think there is a decent chance that he get resigned. The Hawks have a massive hole and LB and he would be a cheap and good enough stopgap for the time being if they can't find a pair of LBs.
