I have been using a 307 for about eight years. It can carry a lot and has the frame at the top to keep it open. It is easy to change a lens, resting it on top of the bag. It also has brass feet to protect the leather underside. This bag has maintained its shape well (wish I could say the same) and it can ride on top of a roller case by wrapping the shoulder strap through the extending handle.
Billingham bags are very lovely objects, compared to all the nylon bags out there. You sort of forget the price and enjoy owning & using a Billingham. I've got my Lumix kit in a Hadley Pro, and it all fits nicely and works really well.
After spending decades and enough money on camera bags to have put a sizable down payment on that Leica M11 you were shooting around with, I finally bought a Hadley pro 2020, based upon the reviews you guys have made. Thank you! This bag is truly the end of the line. My search is over. The Mini Eventer looks cooler, but a bit too short to stuff all my Fuji gear into it (XT-3, 16-80, 33 f 1.4, 55-200 (soon to be replaced with the 70-300).
@@GothicKittyMadness yes, I suppose you can do that but you can’t replace it after the wear and tear in the long run. The front leather locking straps are replaceable which is a nice touch 🙂👍
@@Squarespex honestly I would not worry about the strag at all. At least on my hadley Pro, after 5 years of use, there is no noticeable evidence of usage on the strap.
I'd love a brand new Billingham, don't know how I could justify it when I bought my Hadley Pro of gumtree for £50. :P I also own one of the larger bags, can't remember what one it is but it might be the 445, I got that for about £100 used from the Leica store in Manchester. Both are fantastic bags and even though both are used they work just as well as new.
Make one. I got a 41cm canvas bag for £15 from China. Then went to work waterproofing it with hot wax (bee's wax, paraffin wax and mineral oil). Then put an £8 divider insert in it. Same thing. Total cost in 2023, £35 all in.

This bag needs some metal tabs or something at the bottom, so you don't wear out the leather quickly and you don't have to baby the bag. Also Billingham bags are rather expensive in the US. I think they are trying to sell their classic UK heritage BS. I would recommend ThinkTank and Domke bags over Billingham if you are in the US.
I'd love to see someone try and pry my Hadley Pro from my cold dead hands. Also one thing to note is that the straps are knife resistant. I also have personal contents insurance for the full sum of my bag and camera equipment so if they did get stolen at least I'm fully protected.

My bag has a nice hide on its rear end. 😂😂😂 The zipper isn’t a great idea from Bellingham. 😢😢😢 It’s a dear beaker for me as it takes away from the day to day use and it’s longer life that most bags have.

It looks great and it keeping its shape is a good improvement. But that strap colour doesn't really work. Tan works with blues. Dark brown leather works with blues. But all three together... meh.
The top flip doesn’t cover the sides, the shoulder belt is not removable, Hadley is $180 cheaper and functions better. The only luxury part is the leather bottom but no foot to prevent scratch, the leather zipper cover on the back is decorative than protection, then it’s in the back not visible to people. In addition, the color selection is fewer than Hadley.
Gets dirty way too easily by the looks of it, this is why I usually stick to grey bags or at least a material that doesn't get hair caught on it so easily
That is really a royal blue, not navy blue. I’ve never been a fan of the styling of these bags though. I like something a little bit more rustic and understated. I’ve never found the perfect bag. Closest is the waxed canvas Domke I’ve been using for almost a decade now.
In 2022, Billingham needs to realise they don’t need to size for DSLRs…this mini is fat and ugly. I’m looking for a smart looking Domke F803 sized bag that will not look out of place at a formal event. Suggestions?

Nice bag 💼 indeed, I like the design. Just a shame it doesn’t have detachable shoulder strap like on some of the Billinghams.
If it's anything like the Hadley Pro, you can put the shoulder strap under the flap to secure it and keep it out the way. :)
