When she opened the video by saying that she wrapped Popeyes biscuits in the skin from the chicken thigh and then doused it in hot sauce and honey, I knew this recipe was going to be legit. As a New Orleanian, that was music to my ears. 😂

OK, right off..as an Aussie, and Australia is the 51st State (we actually are more US than European) we obviously have all heard of 'biscuits and gravy' ..and what we know as biscuits you call cookies...so now we finally get to find out what biscuits and gravy really is!!

Every weekend I get the egg, aged white cheddar and mushroom gravy biscuit from Jacob's Pickles in NYC. Most unbelievable mushroom gravy ever.
My dad lives close to it. I'm a bigger guy but the portions there are insane! Gonna have to try that one next time.
I have never tried Biscuits/Gray, it´s not a thing here in Sweden but i would love to try this version with her, she was really lovely and i hope you guys have her back for more videos :)

If you think about it, its kind of similar to some swedish / german dishes. Köttbullar comes close (mash + the gravy from the meatballs), or a german roast with a side gravy, since we usually eat that with potatoes. I think this biscuits and gravy wouldn't be all too crazy for most Germans/Swedes/Dutch

This is the same way I make sausage gravy but I frequently use breakfast sausage instead of seasoning ground pork. I, too add additional oil, but I like your use of butter! Instead of using plain salt, I like to use Tony Chachere's Cajun seasoning to put a little zip into it plus a lot of fresh cracked pepper. For biscuits, I like the ATK buttermilk drop biscuit recipe. This is just an idea, folks.☺️

The gravy is peppery, milky, and sausagey. The Biscuits are kinda sweet, but nothing like a cookie. It's a savory dish.

Would recommend anyone who does this recipe to truly brown the sausage before creating the roux. Makes a difference to the end flavor. Also, a tiny dash of balsamic in the gravy helps to cut the intensity of the salty/fattiness. When you've got your gravy the right consistency, kill the heat and add a tiny bit of more milk, mix and immediately serve. As the gravy cools it will solidify quickly and muchly. Adding a splash of milk right at the end ensures you get the consistency you want, which is pretty important for biscuits and gravy.
Also, for the biscuits, use a round glass to cut them in rounds and then bake them in a circular pan without any space between each biscuit. That way the biscuits rise up instead of out. Generally your biscuits should get at least 2x taller, 3x or more is when you know you've done good and handled the dough well.

If you want to make this but your lazy just get some breakfast sausage(not the link kind) thats what 99% of us make it with anyway, and it has spices already in it. That as well as some canned biscuits and you're golden.
