I had the same bike with the high pipes brand new in 68. I was working for my Father mostly fixing flat tires on his fleet of logging trucks as a summer job. I was 14 years old at the time and this bike was my pay for all the weekends and summer work that year. Price back then was 1099 bucks. I also got ticketed for improper license because at that age you couldn't exceed 100 cc. Thx for the post.

I'll always remember that red 1968 T100C that came into my life, God that was back in 1976, that changed everything for me, I was 20 old then, over the yr I moved on to having many different kinds of bikes Harleys and so on, but there was always a triumph in my garage, I'm 65 this yr and "Yes" there is a triumph in my garage right now, I have had a life long love affair with the triumph motorcycle, my lady friend says that I get more excited over that rusty old 650 triumph than I do over my 18,000 dollar Road King, probably so,

I allways remember my uncle's t100 exhaust note when pulling away from my gate after visiting, but as good as the sound from the pipes was, I could feel the exhaust gasses on my pant legs from about 20 ft away!
Cool bikes, shame The new triumph twins no longer have the 360 degree firing order, and no longer have that unique triumph sound!

I have a 1966 T100 that I am putting back on the road. The bottom end was locked up and what I found, when I got the engine apart, was that the bike had been rebuilt. The crank had been turned .010 and new .010 over pistons had been fitted. They failed to clean out the sludge trap in the crank and so the engine tied up, I am assuming for the second time. I replaced the big end shells with new .010 over items (after pulling the sludge trap and cleaning it out) the the bottom end feels perfect. I will need new pistons since the bike sat abandoned for many years.

I got a T100R Daytona to restore. I hope it can look half as good as this Trophy!

Sweet! I've got a 1970 Daytona I got in 1982 when it was a RAT chopper and not worth the 100.00 I paid for it at the time! I'm right in the middle of rebuilding it at this very moment, November 2019, and it should be back up in a month or so. I doubt that it would have even been worth fixing when I got it, had it not been for my connections, I'd most likely passed on it. By my choice, I don't run a front fender and I've got TT pipes on it with aluminum silencers, the tank is stock looking but competition orange w/ black stripes. Everything else is stock Triumph only with a twist of a flat track added, it's also a matching numbers bike but that wouldn't phase me a bit, I'm a lifelong Triumph nut and numbers are just that to me. I started with a front frame, center cases, crankshaft transmission, rear wheel and that was it, the rest went into the trash!

Nice Trophy but too bad it's sporting Daytona pipes. A proper Trophy has factory street scrambler pipes, chrome, with wire heat guards.

I bought my '68 Triumph T100C new in NYC and drove it all over the East Coast, Europe, and the West Coast for many years. It was so light and maneuverable, one reason being it had no battery, as it ran on a magneto. Made it interesting at night.

A T100c Without high level pipes? is that an American thing?
