There's a 2mm set screw in the end of the hex that retains the pin. If you loosen it the pin will pretty much fall out. Lovin the B.A vids tho. Keep em coming
Lol what an idiot! 🤣 thanks man. Next time it won't be such a bitch.
its good to check them put a bit of loctite on em. i have had two loose on each newer arrma i have. one of the grub screws was almost all the way out. so it was only being held in by the hub.
Said set screw has stripped the allen wrench and now removing the pin is not possible
@@chadstabler5193 Just happened to me. Way too much lock tight was used. The screw game way before the lock tight. Had to order a new set.
Congrats on 3K Brother! love these hot racing hubs!
Thanks man. I appreciate it. Watch alot of your stuff. Kick ass tactics!
Another capital vid from Heavy Metal RC!! Keep it up bro, I just pointed two customers to your vids.
Awesome, I have tons of hot racing products. Love them.
I got these in my Amazon shopping cart, looks like an easy install 👍
Thanks man i Been looking for a vid on this
What's up dude I just finished installing mine, the stock right one popped out on a bad landing split the plastic lost the metal nut and bent an axle wicked upgrade!
Another killer video 👍🤘
keep up the good work man . south park referances and heavy metal .. my new favorite rc channel
Hell yeah, thanks man.
Is it pretty much the same on the Typhon 6S V5?
Yooooo I appreciate the S/O brother and many more builds to come this year and yes KRATON 6s is the best basher in my opinion full sends haha be safe man and take care !!
Hell yeah, no problem bro.
I didn't get stickers with my shocks or my slipper pad! I wanted a sticker. Dang it HR...what are they doing over there?
Was it just mine or was the exb rear brace a little shorter than the stock and made the tower to tower brace a tad too long to the point that you had to force it in place and then put the screw in?
Not sure. It was pretty tight. Guess that's a goodthing.
Nice. Gonna b my next mod to remove some slop in the front
Hey I have a question about the way the cvd drive shaft spins after you installed the hr hubs. I’m currently installing these on my Mojave and when I spin the drive shaft on the hr installed side it feels like there is resistance compared to the stock side. The stock side spins smooth and nice and the side with the hr feels like it’s taking a lot more pressure to spin. I just wanted to ask if you noticed that on yours?
I didn't really notice that man. Maybe try it and see if they loosen up.
This is on my parts list
3:48 yeah same, i got lucky getting that grub screw out, had to use a big arse shifter and i was surprised my allen key didnt snap or strip, the other side was just hand tight, anyway good video buddy!!!
First vid I've watched to gain knowledge on my Kraton. Already can tell I shall enjoy. Subbed muh man. l..l,
Thanks man, I appreciate it.
haha i was going to tell you about the screw in the end of the axel but i see someone has told you already, you would be surprised how many people don't know that, your Typhon is the same way, The Hot Racing parts look awesome
Thanks Kurt.
Haha the balls joke made me subscribe 😂
Another awesome vid! If those pillow ball retainers start coming loose you need to try M2C’s they have a delrin plastic holder that won’t let them back out. Stock and those HR ones are known to come loose.. Keep Sending It! 🤘🤘🤘
@@williamperri3437 The Hot Racing steering knuckles are awesome but the pillow ball retainers do back out I have experienced that! The M2C ones have yet backed out on me.. Good bashing!!
@@Shadows-RC be careful putting silicone on those o rings that might help them in backing out?? Good Bashing!!
Oh showing us your balls and then teaching everyone how to properly fish around in the old prison wallet for bits! 5 stars😂👍
Doesn’t the petroleum eat up the o ring? I had that issue a work. I was taught to use Vaseline for lube in a large pressure reducing valve. It ate seals and o rings more often then it should. I use food grade grease now. I was thinking because of the petroleum base, it ate through rubber
No this is made for O rings. Not sure exactly whats in it lol. We use it at work.
I do water/sewer so my options for lube is limited haha
I’ll have to get the stuff you use for around the house...

Hey man hope you answer, but I recently had an argument with an rc store owner about this part that was sold to me and the part ended up being skinnier than the one you got although it’s the same part # but looks like the part could be for a Typhon but the ones that you got look like the same exact ones as the original just stronger, so my question is , you didn’t have to change anything else on the rc specifically talking about the (middle axle) that rotates the wheels right ?
No I didn't have to change anything. It was just an easy install.
Thank you man, I knew I wasn’t crazy, we have the same blx 6s and the guy sold me a part with the same part # but it ended up being skinnier causing the middle axle to stick out like half an inch more of what yours looked like.
@Ya Boi yeah, definitely not right. No problem bro. Hope you get it figured.
@@heavymetalrc7520 you earned a subscriber bro thank you so much, these store owners wanna make me think that I’m stupid… Thanks again 💯💯
@Ya Boi hell yeah, thanks man. I appreciate it. Yeah they just wanna sell. They don't care.
I do like them! Probably not a part that breaks much tho 🤔 are the hearings the same size as the stock ones or bigger? 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
The outside bearing is the same but the inside is alot bigger.
@@heavymetalrc7520 Nice! When I had my v4 it was the inner bearings that always went so that's good! I'm guessing your v5 and my exb all have the same bearings. Thanks man 👍🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 What's your actual name by the way??
@@ksrnate his name is Jack Meoff 😉👌
what tha hell i don't remember this episode!, but i remember the old intro!
This is the hardest part..... no shit why do u think I'm watching
I ran those on my V4 and they are a beast and LOL waffle ling hahaha
Lol too much waffling.
Have you seen the krajave hybrid? Might make one
Nice
Dang, now I want some waffles!
Lol delicious
I found that parker grease! 10$ a tube! Thank you!!! Orderd coming 🤷♀️🤷♂️🎅
The fish!!!
Nice bud. It works great. Rejuvenates old orings tok.
@@heavymetalrc7520 a lot cheaper than the stuff in hobby stores.
Are the hubs for the V4 and V5 the same?
Yes
Well.. these hot racing fit both. Not sure if there is a difference in stock.
Haven’t diagnosed where I f’d up but the Axles extend out too far where the hubs have like a 1/4 inch gap. I’m like maybe I forgot a ring or spacer.
Hmm send some pics to my email..maybe I can help.
dmtimmons1217@aol.com
@@heavymetalrc7520 will do. Thanks pal
"Should I put that on my ass or on this table"
Somebody may have already told you but if you loosen the set screw in inside the hub, the pin comes out, it's easy mmmkay
Yeah someone did. What an idiot I am. I know next time.
I was able to scuff down 7 waffles during that vid!🤢
Hot racing makes some nice strong parts. Good to see I'm not the only one to loose tools just used!!! The wait on parts sucks even more when they never make it. I'm keeping a eye on that surrpass motor! I did the same thing with the set screw on those 17mm wheel nuts🤓🙈😳🤷♂️
Lol oops. Yeah I have high hopes for that motor. I figured rcdude81 uses it in his big rock. His is slightly higher kv. His runs a tad hot. But I don't drive like him so should be fine.
@@heavymetalrc7520 rcdude81 is harsh and relentless on his rigs! Your motor has more torque than his correct?
A little. His was a 2850kv mine is a 2650 so not much.
@@heavymetalrc7520 should run cooler if using same gearing!!! And driving like a old lady!
Just kidding😋
I think it would be a good idea to try to make copy pieces of that carbon fiber piece. It looks simple enough to do at home, especially for an RC idiot plane mechanic like yourself. Those would make great consumables to have as spares. Plus you could all sorts of stuff with those sheets.
You can get carbon fiber sheets off Amazon for around $60 depending on thickness and size. I got a couple coming that I plan to make a custom chassis for my k989 drift project, and a chassis brace set for my arrma 2wd fury. If those go well, I'll also attempt to make a bottom chassis brace for my typhon.
Good idea! But that seems like alot of work. I'm not ready for that. I go back to work in a couple weeks. Maybe I can use the machines they have to figure something out.
Literally the only reason I watch this was to see how to get that pin out. You took a two-hour Gap and then the pin is out. I wished you would have shown how to get that pin out
I know how, there is a hex inside the drive shaft. I forgot what size but loosen it and the pin will fall right out. Sonfrom the outside stick a 2.5 or 2.0 hex inside the driveshaft.
The kraton is cool bro...but it's no big rock...plus its gotta not so metal paint scheme...🤘😁
Benjamin stop it! 🤣 The Kraton the most metal of all. The sound of it in the air is the best metal sound ever.
🤣😄😂
Dude be my friend your fucking hilarious
Waffling tho 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lmao 🤣 too much waffling!
Too much waffling
I guess vulgar is funny.
Yes it is.
