- After owning my Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus for about a year and 3 months now and racking up nearly 8,000 miles, here are all of the problems that I've experienced so far.
Disclaimer: Just because I've ran into these problems does not mean that you will too. So if you are a new Tesla owner or you're thinking about becoming one, just keep that in mind! :)

I had the black screen once.
Just restarted the system with the two buttons on the steering wheel.
Fixed.
Nice! It's happened multiple times for me but haven't noticed it in a while now so fingers crossed it won't happen anymore

Thanks for the video! I have had my M3LR for about 9 months and fortunately not experienced any of these issues. The only problem I have is after a rain, the air in the car smells musty when the AC kicks on for the first few minutes.
I'm glad to hear that you've experienced no major problems so far! I can totally relate on the musty smell after the rain haha!! Wonder if a new air filter will fix that hmm

I also have that rattling noise but I thought it came from my driver door. I will definitely check the vent now hopefully that fixes it

I had that same mirror issue, happens way more when it's even colder than "freezing" by Cali standards 😬

Only minor issues I've had is maybe twice my visualization screen froze and I had to reset.
All my door seals started peeling to some degree/ had them replaced , warranty..and one of my taillights filled with water first week I had it/ warranty
Dang the door seals and the taillights have me worried now lol I'm going to inspect my car tomorrow in case I find any of these issues :O
I also have a white M3 Standard Range + that I've owned for about a year and 3 months, with 8,500 miles on it. I can honestly say that I haven't experienced any issues with it, including any of the issues you've experienced....except for my screen going dark on about 2 or 3 occasions. But like you mentioned, that's always been easy to fix by rebooting the system. Maybe I'm just lucky.
You're definitely really lucky Dave! Kudos to you haha. Maybe it's just my car then and I should probably look into taking it into service in case it's a lemon :O
I’ve had my 2021 3LR AWD for 21 days and 3000 miles. No issues.
So i have a question over not just the model 3 all teslas in general so these cars have to be updated but do they have problems over the years? Like for example An IPhone when it gets older it starts to have problems with like softwares or it slows down or something ends up wrong do these cars happen to be like that? Or no?
Besides the problems that I mentioned in the video I don't anticipate any crazy problems down the line. One thing that people might say is the battery might be worn a little bit so you lose a little range but you can say the same thing about regular cars (with their engines, transmission, etc).

The issue with the heater has been happening to me in my Model 3 2021 and sometimes when I’m driving only cold air is blowing into the cabin.
I looked into this one more and I think it's because of the sensors or something like that. Def considering taking it into service!
@@JayWuOfficial It's definitely caused by the sensors. New 2021 model 3 with heatpump got the same issue, and it's working fine after changing both faulty temp sensors.

I have 2019 Model 3 and I don’t have black LCD screen issue as yours. Some real issue here. Could you bring it to Tesla service to fix the issue? I wonder what Tesla service would do to fix the issue

My screen goes black occasionally, but it usually fixes itself after a couple minutes. That's honestly my biggest concern long term with a car this tech heavy. Computers go bad and start wearing down much quicker than the battery and electric motors will. Mine hasn't slowed down at all in 1.5 years, but i feel like it's only a matter of time.
100%! It's a concern for me as well and like you said it's only a matter of time + the anticipation is killing me. I wouldn't be surprised if it fails after my warranty expires lol
After I installed the 2021.4.6 I have gotten to blacked out screen in 3 days. Just updated to the latest 2021.4.10 this morning and hope it addresses this problem.
I'm still on the 2020.48.35.5 software so I'm far behind lol

#6 where it’s saying you need premium connectivity. When you are changing radio channels by pressing right on the scroll wheel you are scrolling through your saved preset favourites. Once you reach the end of your radio favourites the next one must be Spotify or something that needs premium connectivity. Just need to remove that from favourites

When you rebooted the system do you have to redo everything? Put in the name of the Car? Your name & the settings you had made? Or do they still remain?
No, everything is unchanged
Just make sure it's not a hard reset and you'll be fine. So make sure your foot isn't stepping on the brake

Unfortunately not :(
do you automatically get fsd if you pay for it when purchasing the vehicle?
You can opt in for the option but it's going to cost you $10k extra. Or you can always buy it down the line through the Tesla app

Nope I don't really have a need for it at the moment
with all these problems do you still endorse finance buying over 3 year leasing? I also read that after 3 years, the battery loses 25% charge going from 250 to 185 and 350 to 260 epa. With a lease that could be traded in for a brand new battery and potentially newer versions that fixes ur current issues. Buying the tesla you’re stuck with all these issues and will have to fork over $13,000+ to replace the battery. What do you think?
Still endorse it 100%. I may just be lucky but with how the market is performing at the moment, I basically drove my car for almost 2 years for free. I can sell the car today for more than I bought it for whereas if I leased it I wouldn't be able to

Yep just like Salty said, on the touchscreen you can "fold" and then "unfold" the mirrors and it'll fix it :D
I love the things about Tesla's that they get updates that fixes the issues, improve performance

I just took the plunge. I expected 3 to 5 weeks but they said within 2 to 4! I'm so excited I can hardly can't stand it. Lol definitely worth getting the long range if you can afford it. I didn't want the stress of charging drama. I live in a condo but I really don't anticipate charging being that bothersome in my area. (East coast, USA)
Noise in car isn't a small problem, especially in electric car, where engine doesnt make any noise

All these problems you are having with your Tesla is for sure something you should contact Tesla about. You have warrenty on your car if it’s a 2020 model, you should go to your local tesla center and tell them about the problem.

another user with a dead M3. At third week of driving, an alert showed up saying "OK TO DRIVE. PLEASE SCHEDULE SERVICE VISIT. Vehicle speed and power may be limited" -- Car slowed to 65 mph while traveling 75 mph in the fast lane; requiring immediate lane change to avoid becoming a hazard. Top speed was then limited to 65 mph by the associated fault response programming. At dealer was informed of diagnosis that oil pump issue had been sent from car to Tesla Main data receiving HQ. Subsequent firmware update --- reportedly necessary when significant components of the car are replaced -- failed - repeatedly. Car is now inoperable and awaiting examination by Tesla engineering; as I understand the issue is beyond the scope of the dealer technician to resolve.
Car initially (my very first entrance to car) had an issue where the touchscreen would turn grey on the right 2/3rds, becoming unresponsive to any touches, auto reboot after approx. 1 min, then work for some time only to fail again and again later.

I get these issues are not huge, but they are unacceptable!! No heat, black screen? No way!! Unacceptable! Tesla should have higher standards for these issues!! I’m curious is this is a model 3 thing, vs other higher end models like the mS and mX??
Yeah I agree Tesla should have higher standards for these issues instead of trying to crank out cars like hot cakes. I should probably make a service appointment soon to address these issues while I'm still under warranty

I used to drive around ~40 miles round trip or so and that didn't really give me any issues. As long as you have home charging I think you should be fine
