This was one of the best. I've watched it twice now. Andrew knows alot of the who's who in the underworld. Really insightful. Especially some of the people he mentioned he come across that have made headlines over recent years. This blokes a legend. Out of all the stories I've watched this one rocked me the most. I had mates that were tortured in the system and they saved me from a life in jail by making me look at my attitude and behavior.

Maybe not a thrill more like his recollections are so strong it's his emotions of it all
I am tormented plus more,it's a struggle so that's why I'm trying to let kids know, there's a better way, and expose the drama in that life, and how dangerous it really is, only a small percentage make it thru prison, the others have to fight to survive 👍

26:20 I can relate uso ❤️ people think I’m violent because of my resume inside but these officers were setting me up knowing I would never snitch or back down purposely putting me in prisons where islanders were really hated and outnumbered but praise Jesus no weapon formed against me prospered 🙏
God bring peace to the hearts of the small percentage of real soldiers in prison who are not trying to be bad but are just put in bad situations to surpress them because they hold positive influences 🙏

Maybe he got in illegally
If you're Aussie or Kiwi and travel between NZ and Aus there is no visa application process they just ask you whether you have any criminal convictions, unless your name has been entered into the system to be flagged up if you try to enter the country they don't know unless you tell them, they can checkup on it if they have any suspicions but that takes time as they have to do a request for info from the other country.

For those who genuinely were around Melbourne in the late 80's - early 90's would know that Andrew Kirby was a street kid, never a skinhead, he though wanted desperately to be one. He was so infatuated with Dane, Martin, Sean and co. that he let Martin stub a lit cigarette out on his forehead as a test of courage. needless to impart but he was declined and told to fuck off. Some time later through his own doing he set fire to a dwelling in Collingwood with an occupant inside. This moron then stayed to watch the fire take hold the coppers arrived and after taking him in for questioning he told the filth that Dane and Martin had done it. How do I know this? I was there and I still have the depositions. Kirby is no hero, he is not a good bloke or staunch, he is a rat, a legend in his own mind.

I’m from Briar Hill I grew up with Coops, Scotty, Johno, Glassy, Devries, Darrel etc Marty’s neighbour Shannon & I did our butcher apprenticeships together I think I might even know you your name sounds familiar I’m Harry ( Plumby) Marty is a local Dane wasn’t but we all knew him, We used to get in fights every second weekend & kirbs would hide😂 We had a huge brawl at Richmond social club I found kirbs under a table😂He & Germ already had full back tattoos at 14/15yo he could stand pain just couldn’t fight he sat for 12hrs for Gary Mooney, I don’t know about him snitching on Marty & Dane I believe you but they have a lot of history after that in Pentridge where Kirbs showed Marty the ropes bc he was worried he’d get shanked bc of who he’s Dad & Bro are, Dane & Kirbs were close in Pentridge, How kirbs survived getting thrown in HDiv with the Brother of the Asian he killed 2 weeks after his 17th birthday and he didn’t just survive he went from a coward to a violent offender, Kirbs was already in jail 1988 New Year’s Eve when 20 of us from Greensborough went to Torquey where Dane had 30 Skinheads belting Skeggs, Coops had his greatest night he bashed 14 Skinheads, He had a fractured eye socket & broken nose when he & Dane went toe to toe until they both couldn’t fight anymore both had blood pouring from mouth & nose and Shook hands, Coops had 3 more fights after that including Chris Hense who broke his jaw 😂

He's right, there's a lot of people to blame for what happened to kids back in the day which continues through generational trauma and more which got passed down the line.
This is so sad 😢 and it starts with these monsters (ppl who sexually abuse children) they are responsible for the crimes he would later commit. They don’t realise or give a fu@k how much trauma this causes. I hope this guy can live in peace and enjoy his life now because I can’t even imagine how stressful and tiring living in that constant state of fight or flight would be.
As much as I might like to watch an Underbelly series about Kirbs, from what I've heard they really fuck over the people whose story they tell. Apparently they really did Chopper Read and his wife dirty.
