The general public really do not realise the challenge for xcons in integrating back. Records chase you, trust can be lost needing rebuild, families broken sometimes forever, careers are destroyed, paranoia & reactive temper lurk inside and need addressing and so much more. People talk about recidivism and why people reoffend but ppl don't realise there is not much of a path to becoming a valued member of society, ever. This man has a lot of challenges ahead. I hope his courageous positive attitude is enough to get him through. Thsnks for sharing.

Yep my past won't let go of me,and people are to quick to assume something, and judge you, even friends and family who are ment to care for you, provide a safe space, cam fail you miserably, sad but true

Absolutely, some people deserve second chances. Lucky these days, industries/companies are slowly beginning to open up and discriminate less on criminal records. A lot will deal with them on a case-by-case basis. Even down to petty crimes like DUIs, common assault etc. every second bloke has some form of a record. All I can say, is that it's best to shine and excel at what you pick, rise above the others, and you will show that you are committed, whether that's academics, tradie, corporate worker, labourer and so on.

So much for do your crime do the time then your good nothing further from the truth, after your sentencing which is your punishment they carry on about shity programs that don’t do nothing only to say we made him do it and can’t do nothing to better your self like course or trades,if one thing happens in jail like says a sandwich maker gets used to attack someone they take it off everyone so how does that supposedly get you ready for outside life getting treated like that I done 61/2 years from 19 and it snapped me just getting treated like that made me 100 times worse

I think that is rubbish and cope
Anyone at any point can change there life,
seen hundreds go to jail and there is the few that get out and choose the right path and go on to do good things
Close family and friends i can see may judge you
But society is forgiving there is many routes you can go if your willing
