omg seeing those little potholders brings me back to my childhood... my whole family went through a phase where we just made a TON of those for like 6 months, and almost 20 years later we're still using them.
I love June, the number of rainbow projects just skyrockets! The yarn works so well for a multi-gradient (double rainbow what does it meaaaaaan) and it looks fantastic as a triangle shawl. I thought it was funny that you were weaving in the rain for a bit because obviously that's how you get the most authentic rainbows!
well that was a labour of love, and it turned out lovely and your little rainbow skein adventure at the end was just delightful. Appreciate all the work you put into your videos
It is gorgeous! I admire your patience; I have taken several runs at continuous strand weaving, and made some lovely things, but I was not in love with the process and have always sold the triangle and gone back to my floor loom. To each their own! You do lovely work, and in honor of Pride month, Happy Pride!
Thank you so much! I'm also in love with my floor loom, but I like to mix it up too. I'm glad if you didn't love your tri-loom it could go to someone who hopefully will enjoy it! Happy weaving! 🌈💜😊
i was getting carnival flashbacks when you started waving it around. no wonder you're attracting all of Nature to your position. what a beautiful way to celebrate Pride month. luv it!
It's so refreshing and inspiring to see someone whose crafting isn't 90% swearing followed by hating the end result. Like. I am aware that often being cheerful and enthusiastic (or at least showing it) is a choice, and not always an easy one, so it's great to have your example.
I'm a terrible actor and worse liar so if I look like I'm having tons of fun, I promise it's genuine. That said, I don't like to be too hard on my outcomes. Even if it's not as I expected or hoped for, I don't want anyone who is thinking of trying a new craft for the first time, who maybe came to one of my videos to learn, to get discouraged. When anyone sees someone with more experience trashing a project that a beginner would be thrilled to achieve, that's not going to encourage anyone. It's even worse when you consider that many of us are fighting the urge to be perfect on the first try (unrealistic for any skilled craft). I think we can all find something good in our work even if it's just lessons learned for the next crafty attempts.
@@JillianEve I internalised in my teens that nothing I ever did was good enough, that being satisfied with anything was arrogance and/or indicated that you weren't trying hard enough, so I ended up only being able to see the flaws in my work and feeling like if I didn't exhaust myself on striving for perfection I might as well not have bothered at all. I'm unlearning that now, but it's not easy.
@@RandomAFP I came from a very similar place to what you are describing. It's not easy to undo those messages. I worked on my perfectionism by realizing that having pride in my work isn't conceit or arrogance. It's an act of self-respect and healthy confidence to take pride in my work!🫂
@@JillianEveExactly! It got easier when I noticed that the people who were loudest with those sorts of ideas were the ones who didn't do anything much, and then realised it was because they couldn't! First step on getting good at anything is sucking at it, and that's not bad! It's only by messing up that you really learn anything.
My goodness, who are you watching that they are having such a bad time? Crafting is supposed to be fun, even when you don't like the end result. It's the process. I just finished a shawl that I didn't like, so I sewed it together and made a pillow.
That shawl is absolutely stunning! Definitely worth all the effort that went into it. 😍 Also, those pot holders are SO cute! I love your plants, and the idea of growing them to use them in projects. I just love your content so much, Evie.
I have an older video on my channel that is more of a tutorial. It has instructions to get the strand started on the top. Check it out! ruclips.net/video/k1Zi5dD8Fd8/видео.html
When you said warp speed ahead, everything clicked into place in my brain! Never thought being a trekkie would help me better grasp the concept of warp and weft but here I am, lmao thank you for this gem and sharing this wonderful project
That’s a beautiful shawl, and I love your pot holders! I had one of those looms when I was younger and recently started looking them up because I remember it being so fun.
its so impressive how you can reform the colors after having ti splice one baseed off your intention and prefernce of the piece- lovely and inspiring !!
I've loved seeing your videos become more and more narrative, playful, comfortable, confident over time! This video feels like a sip of lemonade on a hot day :~) and I love your bangs!
your videos introduced me to spinning as someone who already crochets and i love your work! its so inspiring and informative and your yarns are always beautiful!! ♡
This is the first of your videos I've seen and I have to say you are absolutely adorable. Your encounter with the bee was sweet. You are a beautiful flower.
I love this idea and it turned out so beautiful! It reminds me of an assignment I had in a painting class where we had to make a grid of every paint color we got for the class and chart out the colors from each combination. So satisfying!
Absolutely gorgeous! ❤ I had a pin loom just like as a kid and made so many potholders. I feel the strongest urge to get one and do some inner child healing.
Its just so georgous, thank you for your sacrifice of wearing a woolen shawl in summer😊 and I really laughed at you beimg divebombed because you are the prettiest flower.
A lovely, fascinating and wonderful way to use the gradient; both the process and the result. The finishing process in particular made me smile. I had been wondering how it would be done, and watching each loop being hooked over the one next to it was very satisfying in a “d’oh, of course” kind of way (not being a weaver myself, it was obvious as soon as I saw it). Thank you for another truly interesting and inspirational video.
I love how this turned out! I used some semi-rainbow yarn I spun as color B in a Stephen West Flying Foxtail wrap--I love seeing what rainbow can do in a triangle, too!
That shawl was so pretty!! I want to learn how to make one so bad now (as though your channel hasnt been making me want to learn spinning and weaving for months now)
You ARE the prettiest flower! I have a shawl from Ireland that my MIL gave me. It seems to have the same looseness that yours does, so now I have a better appreciation of how it may have been made. Thanks for sharing with us ❤
Jillian I am SHOOK. This is so pretty!!!!!!! I’m one of your enby fiber friends and I just want to say thank you for making your corner of the fiber world a safe space for queer folks of all kinds! Side note: you’re always fabulous but did you get your hair done because it’s KILLER! 10/10. Anyway, lots of love!
It's gorgeous! I have a cotton rainbow color gamp blanket i wove a few years ago. I didn't spin the yarn, but it's my favorite thing i ever wove and this shawl reminds me of it. I'd love it even more if i had spun the yarn.
I'm not sure it would be possible with this technique but now I'm thinking it wouldbe cool to make a rainbow shawl that's also rainbow shaped! Like I think a semi circle would be a pretty decent shawl shape
Weaving a rainbow in the rain is just spot on!
🌦️🌈🥰
You can't have a rainbow without rain.
Omg, obsessed with little Rainbow Skein's day in the life at the end!
i can't wait for the Netflix series.
omg seeing those little potholders brings me back to my childhood... my whole family went through a phase where we just made a TON of those for like 6 months, and almost 20 years later we're still using them.
It turned out so gorgeous! And I absolutely love your fringe! Your hair looks so lovely! The bumble bee seal of approval was the icing on the cake 😂
Thank you! 🐝
You give off fun aunt vibes. Like the one aunt that actually knows what you like and makes great effort to make you feel special. It’s so comforting

This entire video is chaos and I love it so much. It's also awesome to see a rainbow weaving project for pride. Love it so much
Glad you liked it! 💜🌈
This video is perfect: rainbows, gradients, pin looms, and BUNNY!

That shawl is luminous.
Happy pride month everyone, whether you are a member of the LGBTIAQ+ community or an ally.
I'm always excited to see people using pin looms, especially in videos
Great way to use your hand-spun. I watched someone at the Washington Fair make one of these triangle shawls but did not see her tie it off. I love it!

Evies way of explaining her projects is so soothing and wholesome. I love watching it.
So beautiful! I want to sit down with that shawl and look and look and look at all the color changes and combinations.
❤❤❤
The shawl ended up so beautiful! Absolutely fitting for pride month
And your triangle loom!! I bought one a few years ago but don’t know how to use it, thank you for showing us!!

This is gorgeous, and I had so much fun watching! If you ever do another one, start with purple, so you get more of it!
Oh, wow, the ending is so adorable! It slayed me, and this is my ghost writing about how wonderful little rainbow skein's adventures were. 💜
That turned out so beautiful!! I love the drape it has, too!
That’s a beautiful shawl, and I love your pot holders! I had one of those looms when I was younger and recently started looking them up because I remember it being so fun.
Truly magical! I love this shawl so much! The outdoors and crafting is just the positivity I am looking for! Happy Pride month all!

It really turned out well! Thanks for your sacrifices to bring this lovely shawl to us!
Love this idea, and how effective the gradient is!!! Yahh you! It's very pretty.

It’s a beautiful shawl. I loved the colors.
This is amazing!!!! Super beautiful gradient of gradients and I love your potholders too.
Absolutely gorgeous! 💖
i love it!!!!! its the exact type of shawl i would want to make on a triangle loom
I've wondered how those triangle looms work! The gradient is beautiful! I'm impressed and happy it worked out so well.
I was swooning at how gorgeous it was ... then the end! I'm dying! 😂😂😂
Beautifully woven! I love the rainbow gradient! I also like that it's a little open and airy. Your triloom is also SO COOL! I want to make one. 💜
I shall never forget warp and weft. I see "broken warp" a million times a day. I work on weaving machines.
