Any society must have law and order in order to be sustainable. So called "violations" of civil liberties are excuses to destabilize a sensitive and impactful region. All elected and appointed officials in the US must swear an oath to the allegiance of the country. Would anyone want an official who doesn't love or isn't loyal to the country he/she is supposed to serve?
