That caught my attention!. Like, songs almost over, I got this. I only knew Pirate Queen's American production starring Stephanie J. Block, but after doing a little bit of browsing I discovered Rachel did the U.K/Irish production of Pirate Queen.
@@westendvideo😲💨 She is Outstanding, and I think being Irish the role was Meant To Be HERS. I wish this production had continued With Rachel in the States. 😊 No disregard for, or disrespect meant to Stephanie J. Block who originated the role in the American production and did a great job, but ms. Rachel Tucker was born to play this role.
🤷♀️ I had struggled to find words to describe this..until now, This wasn't a rehearsal, This was an exhilarating, breathtaking performance. 🙆♀️ 💓💕👏 BRAVO👸 Pirate Queen Rachel Tucker.
GRACE: Woman I am born What does "woman" mean? Must my dreams face scorn Held back and unseen If I long for fire Must it stay unreal? Can I not desire? Am I not to feel? And when life beckons, I should go Face out the storm, not stay below Am I to be just woman? No! Not I!
Natalia Osias I haven’t gone through auditions yet, but I’ve got amazing feedback from lots of professors, and they all love the song for my voice. I’m about to post me singing it soo... 😁
@@GiveupforJesus I got into LIU Post, Boulder, Wagner, Point Park, Penn, and others, I’m just not remembering. I ended up choosing LIU POST, because they gave the best offer
Rachel is amazing, but I still prefer Stephanie on this song. She made it sound much more effortless and moving. I'm sure Rachel can get there once she knows the song better, but based on this, Stephanie still has her beat for me
I keep coming back here to Rachel's performance of "Woman" and thinking They Really Should do a Revival of the Pirate Queen with Rachel in the title role. I think she's the spark to give the show New life given the fact that She Actually Is 100% Irish. I personally can picture her stepping into Stephanie J. Block's shoes and filling them perfectly.
Gráinne O'Malley died 1603 401 years ago she was infamously bucking gender roles and presentation, for herself and for her people’s survival. Tell me again how gender and equal rights are a recent fight?
The shocked faces of all the cast while the woman is singing that horrible song. I insist: this is, perhaps, one of those rare musicals with the worst, worst, worst music. Only the Irish dance sections are pretty beautiful. The rest is completely terrible. Good cause. But bad idea from the beginning. Not any single character can connect with the public. This is a huge shame. And a pity.
MIGUEL ANGEL ESPINOSA SILVA Horrible song? Excuse me but you’re going to comment something negative about the music written by two of the most influential and legendary musical theatre writers of all time. Don’t think so.
MIGUEL ANGEL ESPINOSA SILVA you have no idea of what you are saying ! I’ve listened to that score hundreds of times! That song and many others are beautiful pieces of art, sung for auditions everywhere.
I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. This song is beautiful and strong and passionate. It's an anthem. And, really, all the music in this show is just beautiful. It's such a great show that was very underrated when it premiered. It's so, so good.
When she throws the score down....that's a whole mood!!!! I love her!

Wow!! My favourite thing about this is the casts reaction 😮
I watch this everyday!
Isn't she amazing!!!
Me also......find myself listening every night when I'm in bed ... incredible talent
That's what doctors recommend 😁

How dare she throw the book down like "GIRL I'M DONE WITH THIS, I KNOW THIS PART"
I love the cast behind geeking out at what they’re hearing and Hannah Waddingham looking so proud🥰🥰
was Hannah her mentor or something?
Seriously no words.. She is just so impressive.
She is INCREDIBLE, like, she can yawn and she's already outsang every West End and Broadway performer in existence
Or she could stop waving her hands about and just tell the story
Ian Smith shut up

After her years as Green Queen, I still think she is AMAZING AF
Best musical theatre actress of all the time (in my opinion)! ❤🌹⭐️
We are all Steph Parry (yellow jumper) watching this 😂😍
honestly tho, her reactions were my exact reactions while watching this
I quite literally watch this video every day
GRACE:
Woman I am born
What does "woman" mean?
Must my dreams face scorn
Held back and unseen
If I long for fire
Must it stay unreal?
Can I not desire?
Am I not to feel?
If I ache to taste

Look at this face
Does it deceive?
Do I look made to milk and to weave?
I will be damned to Hell if that is my life!
(Interlude)
I'm almost your age,
I'm your match in size,
I'm as skilled with swords
An equal in most eyes
But when you have a dream
And you're caught in it's grip
You can climb aboard a ship
You can -
You can for you're a man
When you reach toward that place
Where the earth meets the sky
Fight a battle be brave, be true
If you can do it, why not I?
I'm meant to fly
Sail unrestrained
Why is man free and woman chained?
Is that my epitaph before I die?
I should be free
Free to be Grace
So I can feel the wind on my face!
And when life beckons, I should go
Face out the storm, not stay below
Am I to be just woman? No! Not I!
