This version works a lot better than the album version in my opinion. Its more raw, but also more open sounding, the instruments breathe more and the arrangement is more straightforward, short and sweet. Less is more
Don't agree in the slightest. No offense but you probably think that the Free Bird live versions are better than Studio too...

You can already tell this song is going to have a powerful message behind it even without Maynard on the track. Even the name descending gives hints to what this song could be about, perhaps the regression of our society?

The age of mehit 12,800 years ago. The end of their civilization, like a premonition to the end of ours. It's no coincidence they had a pyramid on the backdrop of when they first debuted the song live in the summer of 2019.

The fact that if that leaked track list for the next album is for real (which i doubt) means that this song is about 14 minutes long in total and that makes me disproportionately excited
also, side note, for some reason hearing that tabla sample thing Danny uses in Right In Two in this song as well makes me reeeaaalll happy, and that echo-y clap sound he uses just before that sounds real cool too.

joe namredla I saw it live last night and it was like a very long drum solo because it was very fucky so I'm not to impressed but there still great as is and will always be my favorite
joe namredla they said all there songs are going to be longer than normal. that's one reason why the track isn't out yet. and explains why this might be there last one sadly.

Celeste Dubay I love how long g and mellow dramatic the song is, because when it kicks in to overdrive its amazing! you just need to zone out. Danny is a beast at drums. I find him and Justin as a perfect match. Adam is the one one out that creates a different mood set I find

Just saw them play this in Vancouver last night. They played a longer version that was amazing, everyone went crazy. It transitions into something much heavier. It sounded great! Super stoked for new Tool now.

i reckon aenima is the no.1 album humanity has produced so far. i wasnt a huge fan of any other tool album, just some random songs here and there, but this does sound like this song and maybe album will be good.
