In season 4, the character, Jason Carver who is played by Mason Dye, got hate in real life because of how much people hated his character. Now, it's ridiculous to me how people would be willing to attack a celebrity in real life just because they didn't like the character they played in a series, but they would be so happy to support a visibly racist character? doesn't make sense to me!

Dude I remember at the start of the season being absolutely in love with eddie’s character because he was exactly the type of guy I was into with the same interests yknow, but at some point I just lost interest, like the other fans kinda annoyed me as childish as that is so I kinda distanced myself from his character and after awhile all hell broke loose and I felt embarrassed being associated with those people. Also another thing; these rabid fans can be detrimental to an actors career too, especially stranger things actors. I remember in 2018 there was a movie with a bunch of kids in it and there was an interview where a director said expressly he didn't want "any of the stranger things brats" in it. I can't remember the movie name (I think it was Chucky??? I seriously can't remember) and it wasn't because of the kids but because fans of the show have always mobbed and hyped them up. There is such a thing as negative pull. Not all fans of course, but since season 1 stranger things has exploded to being almost overrated, that I think there's a reason you're only just now seeing Gaten and Noah in other projects now that they're older (Finn booked IT so soon after ST season 1 he got an early chance to separate himself from his Mike character) I really hope all this doesn't have negative effects on Joseph Quinn's career, because he is this popular because he's so good. Objectively he's a great actor, he brought so much to Eddie which is why all this insane stuff has happened, it's be a HUGE shame if his career stalled or was effected negatively because of this
I think that director is an outlier. If he actually called them brats, then he's a horrible person and I'm sure these actors don't want to work with him either. The careers of all the actors on this show have been really good outside of ST. The reason the younger actors haven't been in much until recently is because they were all in school and then the pandemic happened. Now that all of that's over, they're doing well. And Joseph Quinn said in an interview that, even before volume 2 came out, he was already getting opportunities he had never dreamed of, so I wouldn't worry too much about them.

I’ve only really been into Stranger Things for about a year because when the series 1st came out it didn’t seem like something I’d be interested in watching. But over the pandemic when everyone was stuck inside a bunch of my friends were re-watching it so last September I decided to finally give it a try. I ended up really enjoying it I like to generally excepting the fandom was and even followed a few cosplay account’s. Like everyone I was pretty stoked for season four. But then when I saw how crazy some of the people in the fandom we’re getting I was a little concerned and even stepped back a little bit. I still love the show but I think certain fans need to calm down a little bit.

Dude I remember at the start of the season being absolutely in love with eddie’s character because he was exactly the type of guy I was into with the same interests yknow, but at some point I just lost interest, like the other fans kinda annoyed me as childish as that is so I kinda distanced myself from his character and after awhile all hell broke loose and I felt embarrassed being associated with those people.
The fandom post-season 4 sucks so much I’m pretty sure most people don’t even wanna call themselves stranger things fans anymore, but I guess that kinda happens with all popular modern fandoms, they suck.

Also another thing; these rabid fans can be detrimental to an actors career too, especially stranger things actors. I remember in 2018 there was a movie with a bunch of kids in it and there was an interview where a director said expressly he didn't want "any of the stranger things brats" in it. I can't remember the movie name (I think it was Chucky??? I seriously can't remember) and it wasn't because of the kids but because fans of the show have always mobbed and hyped them up. There is such a thing as negative pull. Not all fans of course, but since season 1 stranger things has exploded to being almost overrated, that I think there's a reason you're only just now seeing Gaten and Noah in other projects now that they're older (Finn booked IT so soon after ST season 1 he got an early chance to separate himself from his Mike character) I really hope all this doesn't have negative effects on Joseph Quinn's career, because he is this popular because he's so good. Objectively he's a great actor, he brought so much to Eddie which is why all this insane stuff has happened, it's be a HUGE shame if his career stalled or was effected negatively because of this
I think that director is an outlier. If he actually called them brats, then he's a horrible person and I'm sure these actors don't want to work with him either. The careers of all the actors on this show have been really good outside of ST. The reason the younger actors haven't been in much until recently is because they were all in school and then the pandemic happened. Now that all of that's over, they're doing well. And Joseph Quinn said in an interview that, even before volume 2 came out, he was already getting opportunities he had never dreamed of, so I wouldn't worry too much about them.

So glad to see you're not one of those 'Toxic fans'. I agree, some of those edits, imitations of scenes, and that Chrissy Wake Up song and what not are rather cringe, but the whole meetup thing is normal for fans of characters.
Those toxic fans keep saying how 'the show and community is ruined because of them', and are overall just over-reacting and being far too negative.
They're also going a bit too far. I've seen things of them recording people wearing Hellfire shirts without their permission, who then proceed to post these videos which then get found by other toxic fans.

I’ve only really been into Stranger Things for about a year because when the series 1st came out it didn’t seem like something I’d be interested in watching. But over the pandemic when everyone was stuck inside a bunch of my friends were re-watching it so last September I decided to finally give it a try.
