Trisagion ennu kettitundo? Basically the part when we draw the cross in the first part of the Holy Qurbana. Trisagion prayerinte short form aanu Tri eka daivathinu stuthi...so drawing the cross is completely correct.
Naveekaranam was mainly related to the Evangelistic mission and social mission of the Church. It has nothing to do with drawing the cross and prostrations or namaskarams or incense.

@@abeljoshua170 Sorry to say that you didn't get the point. The very founding of the Marthoma church was based on reformation (Naveekaranam) movement of some priests and laymen of the old Nasrani/Orthodox church and it was inspired by the CMS and other protestant missions and the introduction of the Bible.
The usage "ത്രീ ഏക ദൈവത്തിനു സ്തുതി" as an opening prayer was not commonly used by the Marthoma priests until a few years ago. You can justify it with all kinds of arguments but that's not my point. It was not commonly used by the priests until recently. Why this Orthodox tradition now?
Marthoma church fathers started the movement after having illuminated by the truths of the Bible but you can't see such a usage in the Bible. You can see it only in churches that give more importance to traditions than the truths of the Bible. And, those who quote and use the Bible cannot pretend to be not looking into it.
Naveekaranam was not mainly for Evangelistic mission or social mission. Marthoma church always described itself as a Naveekarana Sabha, and it covered all aspects of it including its doctrines and if you have any doubt ask old priests or refer to old literatures. Missions were just the result of Naveekaranam. Without doctrinal and theological changes that drove Naveekaranam, there would be no missions that you mentioned.
If you watch closely the trends now and compare with the history of the Marthoma church you can see that it's leaning towards the traditions of the Orthodox churches. It's easy to see how damaging it spiritually and socially if the church continue with the move. Naveekaranam made Marthoma church positively different and socially favorable, or what it is today. Just look at the Orthodox churches and see their conditions and social standing.
As an experiment just ask non Christians which church they view favorably. Most will say Marthoma church, not Orthodox churches.
The well known tragic story of deception and fraud of a self appointed bishop who passed away recently is a good example how damaging the effect of sacrificing the truth he knew once for traditions of Orthodoxy.
You can't miss the truth if you have open eyes.

@@Fastbenefits-y4p it is simply a misconception that you have. Even in the constitution of the Mar Thoma Church, there is no mention of the word reformed. If we were theologically reformed, we would have been part of the World Communion of Reformed Churches like CSI or CNI.
Mar Thoma Church is reformed as per the 24 clauses upheld by Abraham Malpan and the purifier as per the Memorandum submitted to Colonel Fraser. The title of the document submitted by the Malpans is "Errors that affect the Orthodox Faith of the Jacobite Christians". A good study on this will help us understand that the Malpans meant to keep the Orthodoxy of the Church intact while questioning Catholic beliefs and not its Eastern values. You may also read what exactly "reformed" means through the book of K.K Kuruvilla sir, C.P Mathew sir and so many of the Mar Thoma leaders who kept saying the reformed to socially uphold biblical values. It has nothing to do with what you have mentioned.

@@abeljoshua170 Marthoma church is theologically reformed and that's why it says on its official website :
"The Church accepts Holy Bible as the basis for all matters of faith and doctrine,
and the Nicene Creed formulated in accordance with the Holy Scripture".
When did the Malankara Christians begin to see the Bible and learn from it and base their beliefs on it?
No doubt, after the CMS (or British missionaries) brought the Bible to Kerala (India) and started their missions.
The mother church - the Indian Orthodox - never claimed their beliefs are based on the Bible but they always insisted that their beliefs are based on traditions of their fathers.
The Marthoma Church defines itself (on their official website) as "Apostolic in origin, universal in nature, Biblical in faith , Evangelical in principle, Ecumenical in outlook, Oriental in worship, democratic in function, Episcopal in character".
You can see here a clear distinction from the mother church - the Indian orthodox. And the big difference is
"Biblical in faith , Evangelical in principle" and it came about through the reformation process. Again, "Biblical in faith"!!
Marthoma Church has a close association with CSI and CNI church through the Anglican communion and you can hear the priest mentions it with the names of those churches in their church service ("ഞങ്ങളുമായി സംസർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ " means in communion with). But you won't hear them mention the Indian Orthodox Church! Hope you got the reason behind it.
Please go to this webpage with the extension - "the-church/heritage/".
The Church's reformation movement and history is clearly motioned there and also the following:
"Most prominent elements in the Reformation were:
      Return to the gospel message of salvation by faith in Jesus Christ;
Cleansing of wrong ways of life, and
      Taking up responsibility to be witnesses of Jesus Christ to other;
All importance be given to the primacy of the Word of God. "
What else you need as proof of my point that its theology and doctrines have been refined by reformation?
      Also...... .
"Metropolitan Juhanon Mar Thoma called it "a Protestant Church in an oriental grab."
(Pallikunnil, Jameson K. (2017). The Eucharistic Liturgy:
A Liturgical Foundation for Mission in the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church).
"The Mar Thoma Church combines evangelical and reformed doctrines with ancient forms of worship and practices.
As a reformed Church with progressive outlook, it agrees with the reformed doctrines of Western Churches.
Therefore, in the days of ecumenism, there is much in common between the Mar Thoma Church and other reformed Churches.
At the same time as it continues the Apostolic Episcopal tradition and ancient Oriental practices,
it has much in common with the Orthodox Churches. Thus it is regarded by many in the ecumenical world as a bridging Church".
(Alexander (Metropolitan of Mar Thoma Syrian Church.) (2010). The Marthoma Church: Heritage and Mission. Christava Sahitya Samithy. pp. 14-18).
"The Reformers calls themselves the "Mar Thomas Christians". They are considerably Protestantized.
They have no images, denounce the idea of the Eucharistic sacrifice, pray neither to the saints nor for the dead,
and use the vernacular (Malayalam) for their services…If only we knew what the views of the Church of England in matters of faith are,
it would be easier to estimate those of the Mar Thomas Christians".
(Fortescue, Adrian (1913). The lesser eastern churches. London: Catholic Truth Society. pp. 368-371, 374-375).
"The Patriarch excommunicated Mathew Mar Athanasius and the pro-Anglican group from the Malankara Jacobite Church".
(Pallath, Paul (2003). The Catholic Church in India. Mar Thoma Yogam. p. 14).
It's obvious from the Marthoma church's history that the theological reformation happened among the Nasranis and is the direct result of mission activities of the western missionaries.
All the above refute what you have said in your comments.
I didn't have to provide the above proofs to establish my points. It's evident for any person who have some idea of the history of the Marthoma Church.
