I stayed at the Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe back in 2016, and it was amazing. The best hotel in Punta Cana in my opinion. Huge buffet space and variety. Incredible service and very clean. I am definitely going back.
I was there in August at the Barcelo Riviera Maya and I must say that the reports on that strip is pretty freaking Awesome, planning my next trip back to the same resort.. took pictures at the Palace too, wish I could have done the whole walk tour of the Palace, but this video made it up lol.
Glad you enjoyed it! The water was amazing! The week we were there was in the low 30s and plenty of sunshine. The pools were warm and the ocean refreshing. Great time of year to visit the island.
Appreciate the video. I will be there end of January. Could you tell me if there is entertainment in the evening... Gran Teatro? DJ /Dancing? First time going. 3rd Barcelo resort
Hey, yes the theatre was open with a nightly show. However, I felt it started a bit late.... 10pm. Since we were traveling with children, we unfortunately were not able to make it to one. Disco was still closed when we left (late Dec) but the casino was open. Have a fun and safe trip!
Great tour! I'm heading to this resort with my family in late June 2022. How is the quality of the food at the buffets and restaurants? Any that stood out to you? Do you need a reservation at the restaurants? If so, how is that process? Do you need to book them all the first night you're there? We are staying 7 nights and may not know where we want to eat each night. Also, do you know if all of the restaurants are included? We are staying in a Premium Level Family Junior Suite. Thanks!
Thanks! I believe that Premium includes an a la carte for every night, but check with your agent or call their support line. I think premium can make reservations before arrival, but if not YES make reservations on your first night, especially if you want early seating with young children. Reservation can be changed at any time. We were not premium, so we were only supposed to have 3 included. However, at check-in we were given 7 reservation cards! We tried all except La Comedie (adult only) and Coral (Seafood) The buffet was repetitive. That was fine for us as the we and the kids had our favorite breakfast and lunch items to indulge daily. Pasta and omelet stations as slow... Food at restaurants were all great. The difference is service. Kyoto (sushi side) and Hoyo19 are extremely slow. Even with 6pm reservations our kids fell asleep before the meal arrived (7-730pm). Top notch service was at Dolce Vita and Le Fuente. These were the most pleasant experiences. Santa Fe and Mexico Lindo were good, but not exceptional. Finally, Kyoto (Teppanyaki side) was worth it for the entertaining chefs. They do a great job, but you are kind of rushed out for the next seating. Enjoy your trip!
@@zoeypoltorzycki2080 No, we were all fine. We stuck to the bottled water, even for rinsing toothbrushes. Food was great, didn't go below medium on the steaks. Fruit and salads at the buffet all looked fresh and turned over quickly. As for COVID, we stayed to ourselves. Closest we got to other people were at meals and the casino (only went once).
Hey thanks! Most was open in December. Strikers still had no food and the disco was closed. We stuck to the kids area mainly so I cannot comment on the pool bar. Not sure if it was COVID related, but the show started late (10pm) and the cigar lounge closed early (or I left the casino too late... Around midnight)
@@jaydavis72 best to check with your agent or their website. What is/isn't included depends on if you are Premium or not. We did not feel the need to spend anything extra. We were not Premium in the Family Club. Included for us was: 3 a la carte meals, (but at check in they gave us 7). One full day pass per person for the Pirate Island. Not used - Golf (excluding cart) Non motorized watersports. Mini-golf Extra was... Room service Bowling Top shelf booze (even in the casino) More a la carte dinners None of which we felt we needed.
Hi there! Are you able to cross over and visit/use all the amenities at both BB Peace resort and Palace resort if you have booked a (non-premium) room at one? Also how easy was it to book reservations at restaurants with a non-premium room? I know everyone says to do it when you check in but is it guaranteed in that case or still no? Thanks so much!
Check with your agent or contact the resort directly for definite answers. I'm not sure what the "Peace" resort is, but between the adults only side was pretty strict. One of our party was staying in the adults side and kids were not even allowed in the lobby. We did walk along the beach to the adults side and no one said anything. The member of our party on the adults side, was not entitled to any a la carte, but we included him with our reservation and the resort was welcoming. Our Package included 3 a la carte dinners, but when we checked in the gave us 7 invitations! We booked all after we settled in with no problems. You can always try to change a reservation later if they still have availability.
@@ThePaperCupGarden sorry autocorrect! I meant the BB Beach vs the Palace side. I think one is family friendly and the other is adults only but I'm unsure which is which. None in our party would be minors but we booked on the family side worried that the adult side was geared towards couples/partiers. Do you think we would be allowed on the other side, for ex. to use their pool, as long as we were all adults? Unfortunately we booked it ourselves so no agent and I don't think our package came with any a la carte invitations. Is it impossible to go to the restaurants without these? Thanks again for all your help! Really appreciate it!
The Palace side is nicer in my opinion. I think minors was the only issue with us getting on the adult side. We were not on the adult side too often, but it felt more quiet and relaxed. More of a party feel on the Palace side. I think you can pay (charge to your room) for a la carte dinners if you want to experience something different. Try visiting the guests services desk after you settle into your room. They are very friendly.
Great video! Have a few questions: is the entire hotel gated/safe in your opinion? Also I see that you went with your family. If its just adults going, is it still worth it? Is there any nightlife/entertainment for adults only?
In my opinion, Yes the resort felt safe. I went for many "sunrise" walks on the beach. I recall a gate, but I wouldn't call it secure. You can also walk along the beach to other resorts, and while you are not supposed to, it is easy to get on other resort grounds. There is an adult only section, that is far from the "Palace" it seemed quite. We were there over Xmas and the only evening activities were the show and the casino. Talk to your agent or call the hotel to see what is open now.
We were not Premium. The following is only what I believe, so check with your agent. Premium guests have their own check in. I think all the premium rooms are in one section. It includes room service and a la carte restaurants every night. They have the privilege of booking a la carte reservations before arrival.
Premium I highly recommend it. Free room service. Trust me u want that cheeseburger and fries at 2 in the morning. Also free fancy dinners but u have to book reservations when u arrive.. as well as Premium alcohol. Well worth it.

Don't plan a stay here for more than max 3 days, we made mistake to book for an entire week and it became a torture towards the end of stay. Great resort but food is horrible, too much salt and dirty, crowded and restaurants are simply not available, seems like they only give those to privileged customers.
Sorry edited because I thought you were commenting on a different video. We stayed here for Xmas 2021. We had a great time and booked all a la cartes the day we arrived. If I recall, the food was nothing to write home about, but also not a detourent. Service was hit and miss. We were surprised how the restaurants could be so drastically different for their level of service.

have you been to ocean El Faro. trying to decide between the two
I just got back 9/27. It was amazing.
How was the weather? I heard from August til November is more rain and cyclones. Thanks
I was there in December til Jan. And enjoyed everything about this resort
Omg the walk back to my room after one too many drinks 🥴 I needed a razor scooter lol
Thanks for sharing
My pleasure!

I stayed at the Barcelo resort next to Xcaret Park in Playa Del Carmen. So much extra to do when you buy the park pass. Highly recommend
Hace ocho días regrese. Esta funcionando todo, menos la disco
