The character development was ignored and they reverted back to season 1. Family doesn't end in blood my ass. He literally killed god to escape that destiny and finally get a chance to live. And he died in a way that was so disrespectful to his character's legacy. Sam was finally learning to move away from the toxic codependency with his brother and live his own life, and he was just shown to be depressed for the rest of it. Not to mention his relationship with Eileen was totally forgotten, and his advancements in witchcraft and the spn lore and hunting were also abandoned. Cas was such a key character in the success of spn allowing the show to run for so long and he wasn't even in the finale. His legacy was basically forgotten about. The whole themes of found family and free will were completely ignored. You could watch just the first episode of the show and then the last, and it would make sense, meaning that the last 15 years were completely pointless. I could write pages about why it was bad, but tbh, i'm just gonna pull jensen ackles and refuse to acknowledge that the finale exists, for my own sanity.
