I stopped listening when you said traffic is not a big deal. That’s total BS. Sure it’s prob not as bad as LA… but it still sucks. Even paying for the tolls and sitting bumper to bumper in traffic is ridiculous! It’s getting worse every year!

The areas we are talking about are major metropolitan areas. 30-45 minutes one way to work is not unusual when you live in an area that is growing and a major metro area. Most clients I work with look at 30-45 minute drive times if you have to drive at peak rush hours. Can a commute be longer absolutely. Can it be shorter...absolutely. So how do you approach this. Just helped a couple contract for a New Construction home this last weekend. Our major focus after the "house" was the traffic. We identified all potential communities that fit the 30-35 minute one-way drive time they wanted. We had quite a few to pick from. So much so that the final decision was about the "neighborhood" and the "builder". Traffic is a consideration almost 100% of the time. If you are looking for small town traffic, the Dallas area may not be for you.
