Great interview. RIP Lanny Poffo.
He always comes across to me as very genuine. This interview illustrates that very well yet again. A thoughtful person for sure and humble too.
Agreed, though on the flip side. Lanny is Obviously a smart guy but acts as if he is smarter than he really is, which can be very annoying.

I miss the macho man. Out of all the wrestlers that have passed too early he's the one I wish I could have back. But listening to Lanny carry on your legacy and explain his thoughts and feelings makes me realize that calling him the genius is an understatement. The poffo family is the highest standard of what a family is. RIP Randy and Elizabeth

Having Paul Bearer in that slot is not odd. He’s absolutely one of the greatest managers of all time and managed/guided the greatest wrestler in history.

Met Lanny when he was the Face of ICW. Owned by his dad, The Miser and battling the Macho Man all through the midwest. Late 1970's era. Lots of guys worked that territory and worked hard. High schools and small venues for little pay. Lanny was (is?) a really solid fellow. Some of the talent that his dad had went on to become very well known/legendary.
Saw a few Lenny Poffo matches from 1986, wrestling shows at the Boston Garden. This guy finished his matches with a beautiful top rope Moonsault, before anybody in the US even knew what a moonsault was. He was way ahead of his time.
RIP Lenny Poffo. You will always be the genius.
Lanny did more with less than most any other wrestler back in the 80's..his character of the genius wasnt exactly a Home run in the making at first,but he did great with it..Even when he was losing a lot of matches,his poems were a highlight before matches..His wrestling skills were underrated. He could work.

Lanny you were the genius and you got a win on Hogan, how many can say that? Macho seemed like a great brother to you and you to him. That is rare in my experience. You are a legend whether you accept it or not. We love you for all those years of entertainment. Randy totally deserved the hof. As a fan I appreciate you did this for us

They had a on and off relationship, had respect for each other and be around each other half the time while the other half of the time randy gets pissed at hogan cause hogan said something sideways or done something to fuck with randy.

He is extremely intelligent. I absolutely love hearing his stories.
They teach this in Hinduism to get up very early before the sun is out and to take a cold shower and to pray then.

I wonder what the terms of the induction lanny laid out to wwe to allow it to happen and I wonder what they had to give him/what he demanded to get from them for the allowance of the induction. At the very least I suspect he got money of some sort, at the very least
If you know Lanny it wasn't money. An interview was done on this and his only demand was you do it the way I say so Macho Man induction can be done correctly.
So technically, with a Jewish mother, Randy and Lanny are Jewish. Who knew

I really wish he would have honored Randy's wishes and kept him out of the Hall of Fame because the way WWE did it was not respectful of the Macho Man. I mean Hogan inducting him. I watched and read numerous interviews given by Randy for over a decade where he went on and on about hating Hogan. And Randy's induction should have been the final one of the evening not the sophomoric Kliq. Lanny should have inducted him, and his widow should have accepted it. That would have been honorable and respectful.
You are way too concerned with unimportant details…he said he did it for Randy’s fans and yes, he has the right to do so as the living male member of his family…Lanny overlooked a lot of those WWE demands that you and a lot of us nerdy fans obsess over. It’s a show…Randy belonged in the HOF…and also it was messed up how Randy wouldn’t let Lanny go to LA

Macho Man belongs in the hall fame! He is one of the biggest names in wrestling ever! He is definitely a possibility for the Mount Rushmore of wrestling. Seems like lanny is bitter and uses him for his own gain to make up for his lack of success. Not taking anything away from lanny but he was no macho man.
