I have a Grilla Grill, evey once and a while since it fits perfectly I place the grate in my Weber propane and burn off the grease. Good idea with the smoke stack.
Proper #springcleaning is worthwhile preventative maintenance. I have my Yoder in a shed vented to the outside so its always #BBQishere for me. Even when it snows. Cheers sir.
Great video. Two points: use the CHILD size silicone bracelets, fits better Two, you missed a spot, namely the “door” for temp probes. It’s a plated metal, and gets gunked. Soot has a Ph of 9, so bust out the Allen wrench, pull it and soak it clean. Clean the area around the lid hole carefully. This is also the ONE inside area you want to treat with ACF50.
I just cleaned my yoder a few weeks ago. Will have to try the Silicone Black Rubber bands for the exhaust stack as mine is always leaking. #springcleaning #BBQishere
I’ve had several brands of pellet grills and it seems like these “nicer” pricier pits (I have a P&S Maverick 1250) always need more TLC on the outside than let’s say a Traeger or Grilla grills. I’ve had both within the last few years and while covered but the lower legs getting wet the finished seem to do well. My Maverick needed a whole overhaul of the paint on the lower legs and horrible expanded metal lower shelf about 9 months in. The cover only covers half way down…I will be having it modified to go to the floor to protect all the work I did to refinish the bottom. I also currently have a GMG Davy Crockett and the paint work is worthless much like the P&S. You leave any uncleaned grease on there and it flakes and rusts right away. Not to mention the finish is super hard to clean. The finish on the Traeger was quite impressive and durable. Two years old still going, no rust anywhere on the outside. #springcleaning #bbqishere
Well the Traeger is powder coated, but get a scratch in it and you are done. It will rust and you can’t really repair it. You can use ACF 50 on both of those and it will help. 🍻
@@RumandCook Very true. I’m as thinking about that as I wrote. The flat paint I used on my Maverick was exactly the same/probably better than the original. If ever have to revisit the body I know I can use flat high temp pain and it should be good to go. I am a do it your seller, so from that standpoint I prefer the Mavericks weak coating.
Hey I know this is an old video but i have a quick question if you see this. When you added the grease drip tray did it mess up the seal between the door and the grill? I added one and now there is a small gap between the door and the body. JW if anyone else ran into that. Thanks love the channel!
Hey There, might be a tiny gap, but if it is centered properly it should be pretty close. If the felt gasket is worn down around the rest of the lid, that will have an impact. You can easily order a new gasket and replace it within about 30 minutes. Might be worth doing. 🍻
I have a spot or two, nothing crazy. I do keep it covered through and don’t use it in the rain. Get yourself some ACF-50 and put a coating on it every 3 months. That will stop it from spreading and help prevent more. 🍻
Last time I cleaned out my pellet grill I was covered in junk head to toe. Probably shouldn't have used an angle grinder with a wire attachment. #springcleaning #bbqishere
How many nitriles did you waste to make this video? More than necessary for sure. Google “nitrile knit glove” and find a pair to buy. It will reduce costs and waste since they are reusable and would have worked for 95% of your video. (100% for some types.) To clean them just scrub with some dish soap and let air dry. Disposable nitriles, like you use, are good for moisture tasks. Mixing or slapping meat, it’s fine. Shredding meat (with cottons underneath for insulation) is fine. Using them for no moisture and no heat is just wasteful and costing you more. Seriously. Top result for the search suggested above gives me a full nitrile coated knit for $2.86, it’s reusable, and would have worked for your entire video since it’s not just a front coat of nitrile. Why ignore something so cheap that will reduce costs and waste. I will harp on this every time I see a video that uses disposable gloves where a reusable is entirely sensible and more effective. Gloves on for dirty things, off for clean, back on for dirty. At no point do you need to throw away gloves for cleaning. On a separate note, thanks for the sealing spray recommendation. I wasn’t aware of it but hopefully it’ll stop my next coat of paint from coming off.
❓ What Video Do You Want To See Next ❓ - *Comment Below!*

If you can burn it off that’s always great. 🍻

Can’t let snow get in the way. 🍻
Take your grates to the driveway and use a pressure washer to blast off the crud. Works very well with the bonus being no chemicals!
Yep that will work too! 🍻
Man! Jake that Yoder is looking brand new with that #springcleaning so happy tis the season! #BBQishere
Thanks much! 🍻

So far so good. It has worked well. 🍻

I try to clean and reseson my offset every 3 to 4 months but I love simple green to soak the grates in. #springcleaning #BBQishere
Yeah, have to keep them clean. 🍻
#springcleaning #BBQishere I have been using the Sheila Shine cleaner on all the stainless surfaces in my house. It is a great cleaner.
Yep works awesome. 🍻
I like to use LA totally awesome from the dollar tree when i clean my pits. It’s cheap and works well. #springcleaning #BBQishere
What is LA? 🍻
Great products. Been using them since I saw your first cleaning video. Takes a little work but makes a huge difference. #springcleaning #BBQishere
A nice clean smoker makes me happy :) 🍻
I love your videos, I really want to get a Yoder.
Thanks! Won’t disappoint. 🍻
Great reminder on cleaning, have to get mine done! #springcleaning#BBQishere
Get er done! 🍻
Thanks for the video, gonna try afc-50 #springcleaning #BBQishere
A few times a year is helpful for sure. 🍻

#springcleaning #BBQishere great video and tips! Thanks for running through this.
No prob. 🍻
Great tips for #springcleaning because #BBQishere!
Thanks 🍻
Hi, How are those silicone bands on the chimney holding up with the heat?
They didn’t work as well as I expected. I stopped using it. 🍻
I felt bad when I saw the grill grease on your sneaker 😢. Well worth it though when you look at the finished product! #springcleaning #BBQishere
Haha those are my old pair. I bought 3 when they were new just in case. Hurt when it happened though! 🍻
Good tips for #springcleaning now that #bbqishere. Does the new gasket need heat to fully adhere or is finger pressure enough?
Finger pressure is enough. It’s very sticky. 🍻
I bet #springcleaning is challenging in your #BBQishere bc of all the grills u have.
Haha it takes some work, that’s for sure. 🍻
Got my first pellet grill this year. Will have saved for next spring. #springcleaning #BBQishere
Congrats. 🍻
Congrats, you won! Please email 1rumandcook@gmail.com so I can confirm your email address. 🍻
You got time to lean, you got time to clean. #springcleaning #BBQishere
Yep for sure 🍻
I do it in the fall before I put it away for the winter. Great video again!! #springcleaning#BBQishere
Thanks! 🍻
Good work, but you have forgotten the one must and important thing, Rum & Coke.
Draw back to morning videos 😆🍻
PBW cant be used on the grill plates? But it can be used on standard grill grates? Is that correct?
Yes. Not safe for aluminum. 🍻
Enjoy the rum and coke, that was a hard days work. #springcleaning #BBQishere Thank goodness cooking is easier than cleaning.
Haha thanks. 🍻
Alwa6s good to keep em clean #springcleaning #BBQishere
Yep for sure. 🍻
#springcleaning occured about a month ago for me.
#BBQishere is a year 'round season.
Year round for me as well 🍻
Very informative video! #springcleaning #BBQishere
Glad you found it useful. 🍻
Gotta do a deep clean on my YS640. #springcleaning #BBQishere
The season is here! 🍻
Am I missing the link for the gloves?
Clean Space Project: bit.ly/BestNitrileGloves - 40% discount shown at the end of check out.
Do you still use the same anti rust product, I can’t find it anywhere
Yep, but you can use mineral oil as well. I have a link in the description in my Amazon store. 🍻
My spring cleaning is cook something hot and fast. #springcleaning #BBQishere
Well that will get you most of the way. 🍻
Unfortunately the wife saw me watching this and now is questioning why I haven’t cleaned mine! #springcleaning #BBQishere
🤣🍻
Will this process work on my Lone Star Grill pellet grill? #springcleaning #BBQishere
Yes sir! 🍻
#springcleaning # BBQishere
do you have problem with your base rusting
I have a spot or two, nothing crazy. I do keep it covered through and don’t use it in the rain. Get yourself some ACF-50 and put a coating on it every 3 months. That will stop it from spreading and help prevent more. 🍻
@@RumandCook I do keep it covered but here in WA state it is tough during the fall and winter.
Yeah that’s a tough one. You can also use mineral oil to help protect it. ACF-50 is a rust inhibitor so works well.
#springcleaning #BBQishere I should probably change my gasket out.
Helps keep the smoke inside. :) 🍻
Last time I cleaned out my pellet grill I was covered in junk head to toe. Probably shouldn't have used an angle grinder with a wire attachment. #springcleaning #bbqishere
Hahah! 🍻
If it comes off with elbow grease and cleaner, it's not Seasoning, it's grime.
Seasoning comes off the same way. 🍻

These ones are 5mm and hold up great. They are also $129/1000 with my discount code.
ACF-50 is super useful and will greatly extend your paint. 🍻
