The Candle Enthusiast can either of you guys help me out by recommending a candle that smells like burning apple wood or any kind of burning wood? I'm having a hard time finding an authentic wood smoke smell. Thanks!

Great video, Shane! I start Halloween "nesting" right around the end of July, so I appreciate these early spooky season videos. I grew up in the 80s, and I've never met a more enthusiastic bunch about Halloween. There was a definitive magic about the holiday back then.

Now, this collaboration with Doug from Spooky Villages had to happen. You guys have have Halloween in your blood ! Doug did a really great job of selecting some great new scents for you to experience. So many awesome spooky Halloween images were running through my mind as I watched your video.
So many fun Halloween ideas to try. One that really perked my imagination was Dark Carnival ! Oh my goodness !
I'd love to throw a Dark Carnival Halloween party and invite everyone !

What a great collaboration with Doug! I had never heard of this company, so I was excited to hear all about these candle fragrances.
The candles that sound the most amazing to me are Haunted House, Dracula 🧛♂️, Nosferatu and Lilith.

Why Halloween? That is the question that began my intense fascination with the holiday.
This was great, Shane! I have placed several orders with Dark Candles over the years and love their quirky, spooky esthetic. I strongly suspect you received a bad batch pour of Dark Carnival, because it ordinarily smells delicious! Bonfire has become a favorite go-to scent for me each fall (I especially enjoy it once warmed), and I also just love Apparition, which is gorgeous and can work beautifully for even springtime. Many of their fragrances are complex and darkly intriguing, sort of along the lines of Yankee's Haunted Hollow. Such scents as Graveyard, Coffin, Crypt Moss and Haunted House I usually burn only around Halloween. Yay Doug for introducing you to these!!! Thanks Shane, and early Happy Halloween! 🎃
Carol, you had me at Dark Candles! I only bought one med jar of WB this year from Yankee and then bought $80 of Halloween candles from Goose Creek because they had such a great selection, had I known about about DC they would have been my Halloween go to this year. Elizabeth Jeanne Walker I’m still testing throws. I’ll update you. Definitely give Dark Carnival a try. It smells amazing. Shane got a bad batch . Graveyard smells spooky, but it’s a light scent. I so wish it had a stronger throw. Falling Leaves smells like a mix of an antique mall and Eckerts Pumpkin Farm. I can’t wait to melt it. I have a bunch to test. They have variety packs that allow you to choose your scent. I have Graveyard, Haunted House, Coffin, Corpse, Crypt Moss, Falling Leaves, Pumpkin Farm, Autumn Harvest, Hocus Pocus, Halloween Hootenanny, Cain, Hallows Eve, Silver Bullet, Dark Carnival, and Cemetery Gates. Let me know if you have any questions about the scents and throws when you order. I actually received the Pumpkin Patch tart as a sample AND a whole clamshell of Autumn Harvest! My order shipped the next day. So fast shipping in October and generous with their samples.
my fave scent by dark Candles is Dragon's Blood which is actually a type of tree bark got it's name because of the color of the wood it's self

I am really intrigued by the second set of candles you reviewed! Those had a kind of elegant evilness about them (not like evil can be elegant. That actually doesn't even make sense but hopefully you got what I'm talking about)

So it turns out that there may have been something wrong with my Dark Carnival. Doug said that his smelled exactly like the description... whereas, mine did not. I’ll send Dark Candles an email. But yes, I think you would def get a kick out of the Vampire Pack! Thanks, Lara!

Wanted to buy the vampire collection but they only use priority mail which is anywhere between 52 /86 dollars which in pounds is still pricey for shipping 25/40 pounds on shipping I can get other Halloween candles on eBay etc much cheaper shipping
That’s a shame (the shipping I mean). I suggest searching for local (or at least within a reasonable distance) candle companies. Sorry about that. We need “candle-importers” in the world... like what we see in the wine industry.
