R.i.p. Gwen Stacy The love connection in the film was just so perfect and the romance, the music ,the view the actors just amazing The Amazing Spider man was just a hit !!!!
This song came into my life unexpectedly and I am addicted to it. Not so much for the words, but the melody captures my heart and soul because it is for someone I love deeply and endlessly, being far apart and not able to touch each other that grips my heartstrings and I only wish someday I can show this person the love I have for him will never die, never fade and I miss him every minute of the day and through eternity. I have never opened up my heart this way to anyone and he has mesmerized me and holds my heart and soul.
A very moving song. The haunting melody with heartbeat thumping overtones. The ambiguous yet descriptive lyrical interpretation of a torn individuals desperate attempt of coping with the maddening loss of love. Then of course the style and sound of which Matthew Houck delivers it. Sheer brilliance....
thank god there's still music like this out there to keep the magic of music alive. All the other justin bieber, nicki minaj, miley cyrus, lil wayne bullshit and everything else of modern music will die out in no time, this is the kind of music that will last forever. Thank you for this.
+Rusty Blade - I love this song, but talking bad about other musicians is not the right way to do it - Everyone likes different pieces of the cake - In their opinion as good as any other out there. Peace and out.
Honestly, had no idea this song was in a super hero film. I heard it on the radio while driving one day and nearly collapsed. Your comment pretty much sums up how it made me feel as well
arghh... I knew Gwen was going to die after I watched the first Spiderman; cus that's the way it happened in the comic books. It actually made me really sad, cus she was absolutely awesome and I don't think Mary-Jane will ever be able to live up to that. Emma Stone was so perfect for the role, she just broke my heart
Thats why its so sad is because the directors made sure they made Peter and Gwen become really close and Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are dating so the chemistry between both of them made it 10x more believable they also made you feel like you are Spider-man through out the movie that's why it leaves such an impact. The ending has meaning towards Spider-man, he is trying to stop time from going on hence why they are in a "Clock tower" and he is trying to stop time by holding a gear with his foot to signify that but yet he wants to be with Gwen but he has to choose between a relationship or fighting crime he cant do both and have time for both which is why he has Gwen in one hand and the green goblin in the other its to signify there just is not enough time for both and not even Spider-man can stop that or time. The ending was amazing and spot on, the movie really is able to grasp you and make you feel involved with the characters this is one of my favorite movies now because of that and to this day the only one of few that has made me cry.
Just watched the movie I just love this song. This is the first time I heard it.Love it. The movie was good she helped him become a better man.Loved it .That movie brought me to this site.
I can see how this song, with its haunting, heartbeat rhythm, might appeal to someone who has experienced a real loss. When you examine the lyrics however a very dark, negative picture of 'love' emerges. There is not a hint of a true lover, only a lovesick, disfigured individual seemingly relishing in the anguish and torment and cage his love has created for himself. "See the cage, it called. I said, come on in"
i think it's not negative...break up depression somehow..and by depression lot of time we touch our trueself which we lost sometimes in our makeshift chaotic bubble...
I saw everyone comenting a years ago ...bt nw m hea..n dis is more den I cudve ever imagine... nostalgia...I dnt ve words to describe...m waiting for dis song literally to come into my life..dis is something beyond...everything happens for a reason m happy 😇hope God Bless me my son n my family n all my surroundings... ❤️
I just found this song, so much of the song writers years of life is witten in his lyrics, i could get lost in his expressions, i see the after life, as being caught up in getting to know peoples lives, their minds, this man writes like those apostles in the bible, and expressions are like those in the bible, a gift from God, a deep love and affection, that is the meaning of love, and it is in your heart
love is a universe i've barely dipped my toes in, and even just that caused me immense pain, as if love is like bathing in the river styx. but love is you and me and everything in between, i miss you, i miss you.
You know what brought me here? A now defunct radio station based here in Cincinnati, 105.9. They brought me artists such as this, Courtney Barnett, Tame Impala, Conor Oberst, etc. So many more I could not list. If anyone else remembers this station, which ended a few weeks ago, say something please, I feel like a lot of us have lost dear friends :/
I'm with you Thomas, and the station too was my main go to, and is where I heard this wonderful tune that I wouldn't have heard anywhere else on Cincy radio. I very much miss that station especially when in my car. I had to find a replacement, and while there are an assortment of other fine college rock stations online, I went with KEXP in Seattle because they really do provide that certain "thing" that both you and I know we're looking for. Life without music would be a mistake, and settling for what commercial radio limits us to would also be a mistake. Keep on rockin' my friend, and close your ears to the stagnant ones who try to say that there's no good music being written anymore. They just chose to stop looking for it, and it's easier for them to say that it's all rubbish than to face that they gave up looking for it.
Hey thanks for replying guys! Yeah it broke my heart when they said they were selling the station, but I try to tell as many people as I can about the little radio station that could, and recommend all the great artists they showcased over the years. And KEXP is def one of the best for that college rock sound, but I loved how every hour WNKU would play a local Cincinnati artist... Now I gotta look up shows to see, if they're even still playing haha
At 3:10 or so I think he says 'So honey, I am NOT some broken thing, I do not LAY HERE in the dark WAITING FOR THEE'. Anyway, wonderful song, perhaps the best I've heard in 2013 so far.
Peter parker and gwen stacy brought me here, it's sad, it's moving, it made me cry. The ambiance, the chemistry, the connection is so real that it broke me.
Peter Parker: “Well, I mean...if uh, if we're gonna be friends, then we gotta...we gotta establish some ground rules.” Gwen Stacy: “Some ground rules?” Peter Parker: “Yeah. Some ground rules.” [Gwen laughs] Peter Parker: “Like that.” Gwen Stacy: “Like what?” Peter Parker: “That laugh...that laugh. That's off the table.” Gwen Stacy: “My laugh is off the table?” Peter Parker: “That laugh is off the table. You gotta figure out a more annoying laugh.” [Gwen tries to do an annoying laugh] Peter Parker: “That's still adorable.” Gwen Stacy: “That was not adorable. That wasn't adorable.” Gwen Stacy: “Okay I have a ground rule.” Peter Parker: “Oh, good.” Gwen Stacy: “Um...” Peter Parker: “What is it?” Gwen Stacy: “Uh...don't tell me that I look amazing with your big brown doe eyes. Okay? I'm really serious about that one.” [Emma rubs her nose] Peter Parker: Oh, no. Gwen Stacy: What? Peter Parker: “I just figured out the next ground rule.” Gwen Stacy: What? Peter Parker: No more of this... [he rubs his nose like she just did] Peter Parker: “No more...no more of this nose rub you do.” Gwen Stacy: This. [she rubs her nose again] Peter Parker: Don't think I haven't noticed. Gwen Stacy: “What am I supposed to do? It's allergy season.” Peter Parker: “This is killing me. I got it, you're just spitting in the face of my ground rules. I'm out.” [playfully he turns to leave] Gwen Stacy: “Come on!” [Peter walks back to her] Peter Parker: “First we get ice cream, and then I'm out.”
Dark night of the soul ..to mourn the loss of someone who isn't dead... betrayal does alter one and change them into something disfigured..may we all find eternal peace....
Some say love Is a burning thing That it makes A fiery ring Oh but I know love As a fading thing Just saw fikle as A withering string See honey I saw love See It came to me It put it's face up to My face so I could see Yeah then I saw love disfigure me Into something I'm not recognizing See the cage it called It said come on in I will not open myself up this way again Not lay my face to the saw Nor my teeth to the sand I will not lay like this for days now apon end You will not see me fall Nor see me struggle to stand To be aknoladged by some touch from his gnarled hands You see the cage it called It said come on in I will not open my self up this way again You see the moon is bringht In that treetop night I see the shadows that we cast In the cold clean light My feet are cold My heart is wire And we race out on the Desert plains at night So honey I am not Some broken thing I do not lay here in the dark waiting for the en.. Now my heart is cold My feet are light And I'm racing right On the desert plains all night Some say love is a burning thing That it makes A fiery ring O but I know love As a caging thing Just a killer come to call From some awful dream And you folks You come to see You stand behind the glass Looking in at me.. But my heart is wire And my bones are steel And I could kill you with my bare hands If I was a freak. (This is how I interpreted the song when I heard it, not the real lyrics but I always sing it like this when I'm listening) *Edit*: I changed "looking at me" to "looking in at me".
I loved hard and lost myself in the end. Now i can't even recognize what i see in the mirror. Its only a matter of time. Im so tired im so scared...i feel so alone..

same feeling
I can really feel what the singer is going through, Praise be to God for he is God of all situations.
Amen

Perfectly said
So intelligent
This was a well put comment!
"And I could kill you with my bare hands if I were free"
That’s very descriptive
thank god there's still music like this out there to keep the magic of music alive.
All the other justin bieber, nicki minaj, miley cyrus, lil wayne bullshit and everything else of modern music will die out in no time, this is the kind of music that will last forever. Thank you for this.
You forgot Rebecca Black as the destructor of musical magic, this song is without a doubt great though I must say
Yes, thank god.
+Rusty Blade - I love this song, but talking bad about other musicians is not the right way to do it - Everyone likes different pieces of the cake - In their opinion as good as any other out there. Peace and out.

Couldn’t agree more Emily

Yess I agree, Gwen and Peter relationship for life
Damn, i feel the same
Mary Jane sucks . Ew . She irritates me , she's the reason I never like the first Spiderman movies or any movie that she's in
I really feel bad......why ........
Thats why its so sad is because the directors made sure they made Peter and Gwen become really close and Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are dating so the chemistry between both of them made it 10x more believable they also made you feel like you are Spider-man through out the movie that's why it leaves such an impact. This is song is about a wild animal. (A wolf) being forced to live in a zoo.
Unrequited love, well, it takes us to dark places.
@@SalTarvitz Oh my. Thank you for that, truly.
So negative...and dysfunctional...with no hope or solution for the future and the joy it intends for us.
Here 8 years later. This is so beautiful 💙
Peter and Gwen brought me here. CANT BELIEVE SHE IS DEAD THIS IS JUST DEVASTATING.
They were one of my favorite on screen (and off screen) couple :'(

Peter Parker: “Well, I mean...if uh, if we're gonna be friends, then we gotta...we gotta establish some ground rules.”
Gwen Stacy: “Some ground rules?”
Peter Parker: “Yeah. Some ground rules.”
[Gwen laughs]
Peter Parker: “Like that.”
Gwen Stacy: “Like what?”
Peter Parker: “That laugh...that laugh. That's off the table.”
Gwen Stacy: “My laugh is off the table?”
Peter Parker: “That laugh is off the table. You gotta figure out a more annoying laugh.”
[Gwen tries to do an annoying laugh]
Peter Parker: “That's still adorable.”
Gwen Stacy: “That was not adorable. That wasn't adorable.”
Gwen Stacy: “Okay I have a ground rule.”
Peter Parker: “Oh, good.”
Gwen Stacy: “Um...”
Peter Parker: “What is it?”
Gwen Stacy: “Uh...don't tell me that I look amazing with your big brown doe eyes. Okay? I'm really serious about that one.”
[Emma rubs her nose]
Peter Parker: Oh, no.
Gwen Stacy: What?
Peter Parker: “I just figured out the next ground rule.”
Gwen Stacy: What?
Peter Parker: No more of this...
[he rubs his nose like she just did]
Peter Parker: “No more...no more of this nose rub you do.”
Gwen Stacy: This.
[she rubs her nose again]
Peter Parker: Don't think I haven't noticed.
Gwen Stacy: “What am I supposed to do? It's allergy season.”
Peter Parker: “This is killing me. I got it, you're just spitting in the face of my ground rules. I'm out.”
[playfully he turns to leave]
Gwen Stacy: “Come on!”
[Peter walks back to her]
Peter Parker: “First we get ice cream, and then I'm out.”
2018 and this song is still the best ❤
Dark night of the soul ..to mourn the loss of someone who isn't dead... betrayal does alter one and change them into something disfigured..may we all find eternal peace....
Some say love
Is a burning thing
That it makes
A fiery ring
Oh but I know love
As a fading thing
Just saw fikle as
A withering string
See honey I saw love
See It came to me
It put it's face up to
My face so I could see
Yeah then I saw love
disfigure me
Into something I'm not recognizing
See the cage it called
It said come on in
I will not open myself up this way again
Not lay my face to the saw
Nor my teeth to the sand
I will not lay like this for days now apon end
You will not see me fall
Nor see me struggle to stand
To be aknoladged by some touch
from his gnarled hands
You see the cage it called
It said come on in
I will not open my self up this way again
You see the moon is bringht
In that treetop night
I see the shadows that we cast
In the cold clean light
My feet are cold
My heart is wire
And we race out on the
Desert plains at night
So honey I am not
Some broken thing
I do not lay here in the dark
waiting for the en..
Now my heart is cold
My feet are light
And I'm racing right
On the desert plains all night
Some say love is a burning thing
That it makes
A fiery ring
O but I know love
As a caging thing
Just a killer come to call
From some awful dream
And you folks
You come to see
You stand behind the glass
Looking in at me..
But my heart is wire
And my bones are steel
And I could kill you with my bare hands
If I was a freak.
(This is how I interpreted the song when I heard it, not the real lyrics but I always sing it like this when I'm listening)
*Edit*: I changed "looking at me" to "looking in at me".

Jimmy Woods
Still one of my favorite songs ever. He hits the end of love notes perfectly.
Chill, man. Let the song bring people together. That's what music's about, not hating on people for the tv shows they watch.
Depressing as fuck. Can't stop listening though
