Fall in the Smokies means beautiful colors on the trees and animals out and about. On the Tennessee side of the mountains, you may see some bears, but on the North Carolina side, you could see some elk.

They were native species until hunted out. Buffalo too in the Kentucky, Tennessee area.

People, PLEASE stay away from the wildlife. Follow signs posted. Give them their space, in THEIR space. You get too close and the elk reacts, that elk can end up euthanized...because of YOUR poor behavior. Take your photos and move on.
