at 6:55 you say TPMS controls the air pressure inside tires? I'm pretty sure these little tiny sensors don't have a built in air compressor. I think they only monitor tire pressures.

Does the MS908P access the Hybrid specific Modules in Hybrid vehicles? Mainly interested in the Traction Battery Control Module, DC/DC Converter, etc. Does the MS908P access and display Live info such as the Traction Battery State of Charge (SOC) in percentage, Battery voltage in volts, Charge/Discharge Current +/- amps? Hey Kodi. Great question ! But unfortunetly not becuase the Pro can only hand 12 volt and while the MS908CV can handle the 24 Volt. Its a hardware thats preventing the PRO to handle the MS908CV software and capabilites. You just have to decipher which direction will solve more problem
I know the MS905 Mini is no longer being produced anymore and read a notice from another retailer that Autel has discontinued production of the MS908P Maxi Sys Pro (and I'm assuming the MS908 is no longer being produced anymore either.) I read complaints on Autel forum about the quantity and quality of the DS708 updates for car makes took a nose dive after Autel put the former effort of the Windows based DS708 update engineers toward the development of updates of the Android based Mini, MS908 , and MS908 Pro. Now that these 3 platforms are discontinued and have an older version Android OS than the current MaxiSys Elite and the MS 906 series, can those who buy leftover inventory of the 905, 908, and 908P expect to get the same level of quantity and quality of updates to their Maxi Sys car software as the Newer Android OS platforms ELites and 906 get , or taper off like DS708updates and how much long will they be supported by updates? I'm not talking about fluff like system optimization updates, and added support for language of Swahili, I'm talking about Meat and Potato added car coverage, Bi-directional active tests and special functions etc. Can you ask Your Personal engineer why Autel can't fix it's F@..user forum navigation when signed in so folks can more easily help one another to get answers than using You Tube Comments seeking answers.Lol:-)
Hey IFNJO , The longevity of the tools really depend on the sellers who sold you the tool. I can only share with you what my clients have experienced . For example: I have recently updated a DS708 for a long time customer (Since 2010) As you know the has been discontinued for years know . But I have good relationship Autel and I know the right people and I was able to organize an update even though its not for sale. So in a nutshell I can get at least 8 -10 years out of my clients tool. As long as you have access to the software.. you should have the tool for a while. For the discontinued models they special functions will be the same as the update hardware verisons. Regarding your last request.. You should contact your local dealer and recommend this request. I dont use the forums and neither my clients since they can just call me when they need information. I think its better to talk to a human being as it saves time . But thats just my opinion.

Update support for the DS708 was allegedly ended Dec 31of 2017 for the rest of DS708 users with only a few makes having 2016 coverage and most makes not past 2015.Guy must be happy and really lucked out that the newer Android DS808 car model coverage your engineer friend must have graciously supplied for his old Windows system DS708 actually happened to work out ok on the DS708. :-)) I was looking at a MS 905 Mini but lucky I found and bought my nearly new Maxi Sys Pro used from a distressed shop owner for only $1500 over a year ago and just left it registered with Autel in the original owners name, and fortunately no warranty issues occurred during the one year update period. Was always following the forum years ago and support participated and it worked fine to get information until people were complaining so much about special functions no longer worked or after system software restructuring after Ford Lawsuit, then Autel pulled support off it's user forum from answering users questions, and did something to the forum "so after you sign in" the page loads up in virtual crawl to make user forum practically useless and discourage participation. So I guess you kinda like Moses leading his chosen people to the promised land showing the way through the Autel desert and somehow miraculously able to part the Red Sea of Apathy with some divine intervention connection going on with your engineer buddies or something :-))

Hi Tomas, It does have some of those features ( online coding) but its vehicle specific. For component protection it does not have. I have to install the ODIS software to do that function. I would recommend booking a consultation with me so I can verify the functions your looking for with my developer . This way you wont by the tool and be disappointed when the function your looking for is not there

I've just paid Autel uk £375 for an update for my ms906, 4 days so far and nothing. I bought my ms906 used, i am in the UK, and i registered the tool online, on Usa site as Uk one you can't register a tool on. Then i was told 'not' to register on Uk or Usa sites?? What? I asked Autel how to delete previous owners account from my ms906, they won't tell me! I keep pressing the update button on my ms906 just incase Autel have given me the update, but it just comes up previous owner's details?
I know the Maxi Sys Pro has the capability to do some J2534 reflashing of modules off the tablet for some BMW, Mercedes, and Volkswagen models from right off the tablet with files downloaded off Autel server as long as you are within your 1yr update period. After the update subscription is over ,the ability to download the programming files to perform reflashing programming off the tablet for these 3 makes ceases unless you buy another year of updates I might be wrong, but does most if not all of the Maxi Sys advanced coding capabilities expire after update subscription expiration, advanced coding accesibility reliant on having a current update subscription and also comes off Autel's server, or is the Advanced coding ability built into the software itself and won't time out like the on tablet ?
In Short Does the "Advanced Coding ability and accessibility" (for BMW, Mercedes VW )end along with the Programming access , with the end of the free update period?
The PRO is only 1 Year ( depending on were you purchase it.. I offer 1 or 2) The coding will always be embedded in the tablet even if your subscription expired. The programming aspect will discontinue if your out of a subscription. Tell me do you own the tool or you gathered this through your research.
Thank you, I wasn't sure if much of the advanced coding that sets it apart from the minimal Coding abilities of a DS808 or cabled MS906 was dependent on having a current update sub and access to Autel's server. I see that the updates for the Pro and Elite cost are pricey and about $1200 USD. and currently are or were recently called Total Care Updates , which is also supposed to cover the scanner hardware too. If you don't buy another update for a year or two after your free update period is expired , than the Total Care end of the warranty for the scantool hardware would no longer apply if you experience hardware or battery failure, is that correct to Assume? Also a regular MS908 offers the same level of advanced coding as the Pro or Elite?, the updates cost only about $700 USD because it does not have the J2534 and it for goes the on tablet programming of some VW, Audi , and BMW cars with files downloaded from Autel's server, correct? If during the one year of free updates you find that you have not used the programming capability for BMW, Mercedes , or VW very often , can you just update the Maxi Sys Pro or Elite for $700 as a regular MS908 and forgo the on tablet programming capability ? If not able to downgrade update as a regular MS 908 with the J2534 Maxi Flash Elite or Maxi Flash Pro VCI paired, could you downgrade update the Pro or Elite as a regular MS908 it if you obtain and pair a regular MS908 VCI , (or even better the smaller illuminated MS906BT VCI) and then update it as a regular MS 908 and just save the original Maxi Flash Pro / Elite VCI for programming off a laptop? I think a lot of folk with a Pro or Elite that don't see enough of a need for reflashing of BMW, Mercedes , and VW makes still bought the Pro or Elite for the larger screen and to get the Jbox to get their toes wet to use off a laptop for programming other car makes like US domestics and Asian makes with a OE subscription. I do think that more folk after the free update period would at least purchase a $700 update before selling their used Pro or Elite platform after a couple years and opt to buy a new platform versus pay $1200 to update if they aren't seeing enough need to be programming BMW, Mercedes , and VW vehicles after the free update periods are over.

The information you are finding doesnt reflect the experience of the clients I represent so I can only validate what I offer in terms of warranty and support etc. Some people get analysis paralysis and some of the information the find isnt accurate or up to date. I dont have any client personally who sold their tool to avoid the update. Thanks your videos are informative but I don't have a specific problem with an Autel platform I that I need any consultation with to work through. I'm just trying to find out for myself and other people considering this tool , that after the free updating period is over and I or others have decided that the on tablet programming side for the 3 German Hi end makes of cars may not be something I do often enough or something that I still to pursue and risk bricking modules costing $1000s from files possibly downloaded from a questionable unresponsive server in China. ( For example the user forum has become virtually unusable after sign in, if you want to ask and answer any people's questions, so now I'm skeptical if the programming files being hit or miss. Will Autel now allow you to Forgo the J2534 programming side of a Pro or Elite and let you choose to update them cheaper after the free update period is over as a downgraded regular MS908 and just not have the programming server access anymore for BMW , Mercedes, and VW? I read If you have a regular MS908 and purchase the J2534 Maxi Flash Pro/Elite and just happen to pair it to the regular MS908 tablet , it was my understanding a few years ago that it becomes a Maxi Sys Pro for good and no going back , the cost of updating it will then be $1200 instead of $700. Curtis Your clients are probably smarter and little more well heeled than I to pay more for the Tablet initially, but in the long run will save time and money getting the support from you that they really should be able to get directly from Autel Support and from others on the user forum regardless of where they purchased the product and should feel confident about the instructions provided on the tablet when programming off the tablet. I do think the 90 % that do buy the Maxi Sys Pro by price alone are doing so to get the generic J2534 device device in a most cost efficient manner and less than 50% will actually program Mercedes, BMW, and VW models from off the tablet all that often and balk at the $1200 update cost , sell the tablets used in 2 years and just upgrade to Maxi Sys Elite. I bought mine used for $1500 with a bill of sale and copy of original invoice with most of the update period remaining. I didn't even bother to re-register it in my name. I love the tool but think it a little too hit or miss to be messing with newer Hi end German cars on the programming side. In the past 9 months I Did code a VW Beetle radio successfully and tried to program update all the modules on a older 2006 BMW X5 but it did an impressive check of the module list , but there wasn't any updates available. I think Autel would sell more updates for $700 letting you forgo the on tablet programming and have the option to update it as a regular MS908 .

Hello, you dont need a shop you just need a credit card! Learning programming is kinda difficult since there are alot of things you will encounter with little instruction. I would like to help you but it would take away time for me to consult who paid for the tool. What I can tell you is the MS906 does NOT have the ability to program a PCM module. You would need to purchase the PRO or the ELITE that comes with the j534. The MS906 is limited on coding and does not have programming capabilities ( since it doesnt have a j2534)

And yes these tools do have key programming and its reletively easy to do and the overall coverage is impressive for a universal diagnostic tool. Many of my clients saved a lot of money by doing the key coding themselves versus sending it to a dealer. Is key coding a problem you see often?

Hey Oscar. The Elite can only read the TPMS light on the dash. It does not have the software and hardware to test the sensores on the tires. You need the TS601 for that.
I love how it don't tell you which tire is left front. Speaking of the Autel MaxiSys pro and the abbreviations it uses to identify each tire in the tpms mode
The Global region you live can be a questionable factor for non corrupted updates for your tablets as well as whether or not The J2534 is going to work for programming ECUs off a windows laptop with a paid subscription from an OE website. It only work if you have a good reliable non interrupted high speed internet connection , the OE website page actually supports your geographic region with a language you can readily read and understand, and that the OE manufacturer is actually willing and able to support your part of the globe with their re-flashing files for models not readily sold in your global region. The Laws of Right to Repair and access to J2534 programming files outside of the USA may not apply universally across the globe even if 16 pin Global OBD2 connectors are pretty much universal.

The client whom I sell to will get a complete kit, ( as the kits locally and online are missing serveral vital adaptors) 350 Training videos ( that cover how to use the unit and other topics in the Auto Industry) 1 on 1 Accesibility with me as your personal consultant. ( My clients get my skype cell number and email so they can call me for any software issues or hardware issues) Direct access with the engineer who created the software ( My clients will benfit from this relationship since we are able to get ansers through the source. We can tell you what the tool can and cant do with step by step instuctions.) We can also detect any software related issues by reverting back to older software or sending new software to solve particular problems) There are more benefits that I offer but the main problem I am solving is accesiblity and competent 1 on 1 support. im disappointed with autel pro.. always getting the same error "vin decoding failed" and autel technical team either failed to know the reason.. totaly unhappy. .
There could be man factors why thats coming up. But even though our tool does solve alot of problems its not perfect. In fact you will not find a universal tool that does everything. My advise to you is to send a data logging and have your sales person follow it up for you . Then they will release and update later to solve that problem.

Im pretty sure if you used the j2534 to connect to the OEms website they will allow you to complete this function. Also what I discovered from going to hundreds of mechanics shops is the top repair shops have several tools they use to solve problems. I asked them why and they said that each diagnostic tool has there strength and weaknesses . Yes our tool does have its weaknesses in certain programming task. If you do alot of key coding on this particular vehicle then I would advise getting a dedicated key coding machine.

About 90 percent of the people who purchase this tool, buy from from online vendors or from seller who dont know anything about this tool. And when you get stuck in a situation like this you get very "below average" or no technical support at all. I work with the engineer who made the software so my clients get a totally different experience. I just wanted to make the clarification so people who are trying to educate themselves know what to expect when buy online who has know after service package versus when you buy from me.

Well right of the bat I can help you save a hell of a lot of money just on the simple fact that in the UK.. the prices are in Pounds and your paying more and getting less. If you choose to buy locally, you will only get the Maxisys Ms908 ( this is not the Pro with the j2534) and the Maxisys Mini. If I were you I would suggest investing in the Pro MS908P or the Elite. Reason being is because your nephew will be able to utilize the j2534 Re Flashing capabilities. And unlike any other sellers who just sell this tool. Also assess their skillset and etc. This way I can take this data and align the client with the right tool. Can autel do online coding? For example can it do volvo cem module coding and airbag component protection in VW group?
Hi Tomas, It does have some of those features ( online coding) but its vehicle specific. For component protection it does not have. I have to install the ODIS software to do that function. I would recommend booking a consultation with me so I can verify the functions your looking for with my developer . This way you wont by the tool and be disappointed when the function your looking for is not there

I've just paid Autel uk £375 for an update for my ms906, 4 days so far and nothing. I bought my ms906 used, i am in the UK, and i registered the tool online, on Usa site as Uk one you can't register a tool on.
Then i was told 'not' to register on Uk or Usa sites?? What?

You can use it out of subscription. Autel wont lock your tool
I know the Maxi Sys Pro has the capability to do some J2534 reflashing of modules off the tablet for some BMW, Mercedes, and Volkswagen models from right off the tablet with files downloaded off Autel server as long as you are within your 1yr update period. After the update subscription is over ,the ability to download the programming files to perform reflashing programming off the tablet for these 3 makes ceases unless you buy another year of updates
I might be wrong, but does most if not all of the Maxi Sys advanced coding capabilities expire after update subscription expiration, advanced coding accesibility reliant on having a current update subscription and also comes off Autel's server, or is the Advanced coding ability built into the software itself and won't time out like the on tablet ?

The PRO is only 1 Year ( depending on were you purchase it.. I offer 1 or 2) The coding will always be embedded in the tablet even if your subscription expired. The programming aspect will discontinue if your out of a subscription. Tell me do you own the tool or you gathered this through your research.
Thank you, I wasn't sure if much of the advanced coding that sets it apart from the minimal Coding abilities of a DS808 or cabled MS906 was dependent on having a current update sub and access to Autel's server.
I see that the updates for the Pro and Elite cost are pricey and about $1200 USD. and currently are or were recently called Total Care Updates , which is also supposed to cover the scanner hardware too. If you don't buy another update for a year or two after your free update period is expired , than the Total Care end of the warranty for the scantool hardware would no longer apply if you experience hardware or battery failure, is that correct to Assume?
Also a regular MS908 offers the same level of advanced coding as the Pro or Elite?, the updates cost only about $700 USD because it does not have the J2534 and it for goes the on tablet programming of some VW, Audi , and BMW cars with files downloaded from Autel's server, correct?
If during the one year of free updates you find that you have not used the programming capability for BMW, Mercedes , or VW very often , can you just update the Maxi Sys Pro or Elite for $700 as a regular MS908 and forgo the on tablet programming capability ? If not able to downgrade update as a regular MS 908 with the J2534 Maxi Flash Elite or Maxi Flash Pro VCI paired, could you downgrade update the Pro or Elite as a regular MS908 it if you obtain and pair a regular MS908 VCI , (or even better the smaller illuminated MS906BT VCI) and then update it as a regular MS 908 and just save the original Maxi Flash Pro / Elite VCI for programming off a laptop? I think a lot of folk with a Pro or Elite that don't see enough of a need for reflashing of BMW, Mercedes , and VW makes still bought the Pro or Elite for the larger screen and to get the Jbox to get their toes wet to use off a laptop for programming other car makes like US domestics and Asian makes with a OE subscription.
I do think that more folk after the free update period would at least purchase a $700 update before selling their used Pro or Elite platform after a couple years and opt to buy a new platform versus pay $1200 to update if they aren't seeing enough need to be programming BMW, Mercedes , and VW vehicles after the free update periods are over.

The information you are finding doesnt reflect the experience of the clients I represent so I can only validate what I offer in terms of warranty and support etc. Some people get analysis paralysis and some of the information the find isnt accurate or up to date. I dont have any client personally who sold their tool to avoid the update. Alot of themusually buy the update in order to fix certant software related problems ( Situations that people arent aware of since they dont know what its like to own the tool after its out of subscription) Also clients that specialize in BMW or BENZ need the update for the programming. Thanks your videos are informative but I don't have a specific problem with an Autel platform I that I need any consultation with to work through. I'm just trying to find out for myself and other people considering this tool , that after the free updating period is over and I or others have decided that the on tablet programming side for the 3 German Hi end makes of cars may not be something I do often enough or something that I still to pursue and risk bricking modules costing $1000s from files possibly downloaded from a questionable unresponsive server in China. ( For example the user forum has become virtually unusable after sign in, if you want to ask and answer any people's questions, so now I'm skeptical if the programming files being hit or miss. Will Autel now allow you to Forgo the J2534 programming side of a Pro or Elite and let you choose to update them cheaper after the free update period is over as a downgraded regular MS908 and just not have the programming server access anymore for BMW , Mercedes, and VW?
I read If you have a regular MS908 and purchase the J2534 Maxi Flash Pro/Elite and just happen to pair it to the regular MS908 tablet , it was my understanding a few years ago that it becomes a Maxi Sys Pro for good and no going back , the cost of updating it will then be $1200 instead of $700.
Curtis Your clients are probably smarter and little more well heeled than I to pay more for the Tablet initially, but in the long run will save time and money getting the support from you that they really should be able to get directly from Autel Support and from others on the user forum regardless of where they purchased the product and should feel confident about the instructions provided on the tablet when programming off the tablet.
I do think the 90 % that do buy the Maxi Sys Pro by price alone are doing so to get the generic J2534 device device in a most cost efficient manner and less than 50% will actually program Mercedes, BMW, and VW models from off the tablet all that often and balk at the $1200 update cost , sell the tablets used in 2 years and just upgrade to Maxi Sys Elite.
I bought mine used for $1500 with a bill of sale and copy of original invoice with most of the update period remaining. I didn't even bother to re-register it in my name. I love the tool but think it a little too hit or miss to be messing with newer Hi end German cars on the programming side. In the past 9 months I Did code a VW Beetle radio successfully and tried to program update all the modules on a older 2006 BMW X5 but it did an impressive check of the module list , but there wasn't any updates available. I think Autel would sell more updates for $700 letting you forgo the on tablet programming and have the option to update it as a regular MS908 .

Hello, you dont need a shop you just need a credit card! Learning programming is kinda difficult since there are alot of things you will encounter with little instruction. What I suggest is to book a j2534 training session by going to auteltech.co.za when have a vehicle. This way I can set up your laptop and install the drivers and software in order to assist you step by step.

Hi Dauda, ( I got your email by the way earlier) Im only allowed to assist my clients with technical support . I would like to help you but it would take away time for me to consult who paid for the tool. What I can tell you is the MS906 does NOT have the ability to program a PCM module. You would need to purchase the PRO or the ELITE that comes with the j534. The MS906 is limited on coding and does not have programming capabilities ( since it doesnt have a j2534)

Hi Phillip, Good question my friend. Yes the Maxisys cando both 12v and 24v Diesel. And yes these tools do have key programming and its reletively easy to do and the overall coverage is impressive for a universal diagnostic tool. Many of my clients saved a lot of money by doing the key coding themselves versus sending it to a dealer. Is key coding a problem you see often?

Hey Oscar. The Elite can only read the TPMS light on the dash. It does not have the software and hardware to test the sensores on the tires. You need the TS601 for that.

The Global region you live can be a questionable factor for non corrupted updates for your tablets as well as whether or not The J2534 is going to work for programming ECUs off a windows laptop with a paid subscription from an OE website. It only work if you have a good reliable non interrupted high speed internet connection , the OE website page actually supports your geographic region with a language you can readily read and understand, and that the OE manufacturer is actually willing and able to support your part of the globe with their re-flashing files for models not readily sold in your global region. The Laws of Right to Repair and access to J2534 programming files outside of the USA may not apply universally across the globe even if 16 pin Global OBD2 connectors are pretty much universal.

The client whom I sell to will get a complete kit, ( as the kits locally and online are missing serveral vital adaptors) 350 Training videos ( that cover how to use the unit and other topics in the Auto Industry) 1 on 1 Accesibility with me as your personal consultant. ( My clients get my skype cell number and email so they can call me for any software issues or hardware issues) Direct access with the engineer who created the software ( My clients will benfit from this relationship since we are able to get ansers through the source. We can tell you what the tool can and cant do with step by step instuctions.) We can also detect any software related issues by reverting back to older software or sending new software to solve particular problems) There are more benefits that I offer but the main problem I am solving is accesiblity and competent 1 on 1 support. If feel for whatever this is not something you really want.. I do have a PDF from AUTEL US that gives you the suppliers that you can purchase from. I just dont know if they will be able to consult you after the sale if you have a software problem or if you need assistance on how to do programming. Most of the time they outsource support to Autel US . While I do my own tech support.
im disappointed with autel pro.. always getting the same error "vin decoding failed" and autel technical team either failed to know the reason.. totaly unhappy. .
There could be man factors why thats coming up. But even though our tool does solve alot of problems its not perfect. In fact you will not find a universal tool that does everything. My advise to you is to send a data logging and have your sales person follow it up for you . Then they will release and update later to solve that problem.

Im pretty sure if you used the j2534 to connect to the OEms website they will allow you to complete this function. Also what I discovered from going to hundreds of mechanics shops is the top repair shops have several tools they use to solve problems. I asked them why and they said that each diagnostic tool has there strength and weaknesses . Yes our tool does have its weaknesses in certain programming task. If you do alot of key coding on this particular vehicle then I would advise getting a dedicated key coding machine.

Hi Ivan, 2 things my friend, my support and "Autels" support are 2 services. About 90 percent of the people who purchase this tool, buy from from online vendors or from seller who dont know anything about this tool. And when you get stuck in a situation like this you get very "below average" or no technical support at all. I work with the engineer who made the software so my clients get a totally different experience. I just wanted to make the clarification so people who are trying to educate themselves know what to expect when buy online who has know after service package versus when you buy from me.

Well right of the bat I can help you save a hell of a lot of money just on the simple fact that in the UK.. the prices are in Pounds and your paying more and getting less. If you choose to buy locally, you will only get the Maxisys Ms908 ( this is not the Pro with the j2534) and the Maxisys Mini. If I were you I would suggest investing in the Pro MS908P or the Elite. Reason being is because your nephew will be able to utilize the j2534 Re Flashing capabilities. And unlike any other sellers who just sell this tool. I offer " over the shoulder" training that will show you how to sign up on the OEM sites and buy a day subscription and carry out that programming task. Also assess their skillset and etc. This way I can take this data and align the client with the right tool. You can self diagnose yourself but the information online is surface level so even if you find the right tool, there are things you will run into that will be costly.
