Since that grand finals at super smash con, I've always thought that this matchup was awful for game&watch. The fact that Miya now has a win on both Onin and Acola is incredible.

how is it awful? Game&watch has a tool to deal with everything steve has. If anything its a bad mu for steve
@@DGSnowolfmaybe but it's still gnw vs sword and he's still dying at 50 to random combo starters, I'd say it's even but hard for game and watch because they have to just play incredibly
@@DGSnowolfgnw is the perfect weight and fallspeed for steve early percent combos, where as Steve is awkward for gnw to combo, and doesnt get combod as long as most characters. Gnw doesnt have a reliable way to get past blocks, Gnw cant reliably edge guard, ledge trap, or juggle since steves block, minecart and recovery are so good. most of what gnw wants to do steve is good against. Theyre both light characters but gnw dies significantly earlier to steves moves, not even accounting for diamond. i mean gnw died at 45 to anvil with good DI at bf top platform height in game 2
@@CHOPPINxLORDS GnW can edge guard Steve SUPER well. Like you see it in a lot of miyas matches against acola or the one against Onin here that Steve just can't use up B or side B to recover cause he will get back aired back offstage until he dies. He cant anvil cause of bucket, combined with GnW up air steve actually struggles to land or return back to stage hard in this MU. also he's one of few characters that can out of shield steves up tilt pressure on shield with his up b
