Ngl I felt kinda offended when my therapist checks her watch and yawns during our discussion

It’s probably nothing personal. Just wanting to stay on track (with the watch).

They dont care. Don’t waste your money on them. At the end they will give you some cheap ass advice that a drug addict by the sidewalk can do(maybe even better). Or give you some medication which you don’t need 90% of the time. Therapy is a joke until an unless you have gone through some extreme trauma like I dont know like kill someone or shit like that.

@couergarnet no. Abuse is a very valid way of seeking help if abuse or some deeper issue is effecting your life. If there's something stopping you from feeling empathy or compassion or maybe something stopping you from going to school or doing your homework everyday, you have your right to seek help when you feel that you need to.

Imagine telling your therapist about all your personal issues and trauma and stuff you have a lot of trouble admitting and then they yawn or check their watch

My therapist either pulled out a Calendar or pulled out her laptop to print out helpful resources I can use until her next visit. It was a “soft close” that I appreciated.
Of course I caught her making subtle glances towards the clock every now and then, but that was just to keep track of time.

My therapist says,"As our time is almost up, I would like to give you the following tools to use this week". Then she gives me helpful suggestions to write down in my "therapy notebook" so I can review during the coming week. (I also write down questions that come up so I remember to ask.)

Ive be very offended by a yawn to tell the session is ending! Feel almost like we don't matter and we are boring her or him!! My therapist yawn one time 10 mins in but told me it was because of a new medication she was taking for her thyroid, and she apologized so i wasn't offended

Loll I always know when my therapist is subtly like “time to get out” when she stands up 😂 otherwise I would go on forever.

Pulling out the calendar is a great idea, no? 😂
I’m a counselor trainee still and sometimes I have the hardest time ending sessions on time. People often get more comfortable at the end of session and go deeper or …just drop a bomb when session is over in 5 minutes.

Yeah. My doc wants me to see a therapist but they are useless pretty much. The most recent therapist I had would inhale deeply REGULARLY throughout my appointments and I thought it was just rude. She seemed like she didn't really want to help me or that I was a bother to her. Plus, she told me that it was my responsibility to come up with a game plan to help my self and she would execute. Like, if I knew how to help myself, I would just do it myself. Dumb.

I’ve just began seeing a therapist after not seeing any for years. I tried to do it on my own. Didn’t quite do the trick. Still don’t know what will come of my therapy, but I obviously needed to try. It’s disheartening for people to see comments how it’s useless and negative things. What if it’s their last hope? What if it prevents suicide?
