I just started trying this this morning and it works for now at least! I didn't know this was a thing until I tried it and tried to find videos like this online. I imagine myself defying and standing up to a dark force that is trying to harm me. Every positive thing I do for myself is an act of defiance and an attack against the darkness that wants to consume me. I'm done playing defense full time; time to play offense! Thank you for this video! ❤

My therapist says,"As our time is almost up, I would like to give you the following tools to use this week". Then she gives me helpful suggestions to write down in my "therapy notebook" so I can review during the coming week. (I also write down questions that come up so I remember to ask.)

Just curious, if free will gets stripped from us because of evolution (e.g., govt), how does this affect the God's free will he promised to us?

There is barely any information out there on why God would allow people to have mental illness. I think it’s an issue that has to be threshed out for each individual. A therapist cannot fathom the depths that some of us have been to. The complicated Web of mental confusion that gets you there and you live in and you must find a way out. You do not know this, you very apparently do not know this kind of pain. I would suggest you don’t talk about things you have not been through, you’re Trying to heal people without any kind of personal understanding of what it’s like. There are no tools you can buy to fix it. Take your disposition with you on your way to the nail salon work out your own salvation.

My therapist either pulled out a Calendar or pulled out her laptop to print out helpful resources I can use until her next visit. It was a “soft close” that I appreciated. Of course I caught her making subtle glances towards the clock every now and then, but that was just to keep track of time.

I’ve just began seeing a therapist after not seeing any for years. I tried to do it on my own. Didn’t quite do the trick. Still don’t know what will come of my therapy, but I obviously needed to try. It’s disheartening for people to see comments how it’s useless and negative things. What if it’s their last hope? What if it prevents suicide?

Ive be very offended by a yawn to tell the session is ending! Feel almost like we don't matter and we are boring her or him!! My therapist yawn one time 10 mins in but told me it was because of a new medication she was taking for her thyroid, and she apologized so i wasn't offended

Pulling out the calendar is a great idea, no? 😂 I’m a counselor trainee still and sometimes I have the hardest time ending sessions on time. People often get more comfortable at the end of session and go deeper or …just drop a bomb when session is over in 5 minutes.

Be careful what you tell a therapist. Especially thoughts of suicide. They can force you into an asylum. This goes on your permanent health record which can prevent you from getting certain jobs, higher insurance rates and so on. So consider carefully what you tell these people
