Should have cut costs by cutting the engraving. Then made engravments an extra fee, if desired. It would allow for them to lower the price, potentially to a place where people would be willing to pay for the novelty of it, and then also have optional add-ons that can potentially add extra revenue. Make it cheap enough for consumers to be willing to spend on a whim and then ptentially get them again with customization stuff they can add on later.
Ive seen little lights before in front of receptionists desks, a little clip on light that illuminates when they’re on a call or completing detailed paperwork. Such a bloated price, I bet these are all over wish/Temu etc for $4

The “screen real estate” issue is not real. Make a border around the screen of the whole device (thickness determined by the screen size). That would be even more obvious than a button and not bulky....
I wonder if this only works with your phone because most meetings are held on the computer. I can see the value in the color attribute but no one is going to pay that much for a mute button that turns red or green. And as many people said, it isn't a good look to have 4 c-suite people pitching a product that is overpriced. Maybe it is overpriced to pay for all those executives.
Im ngl i would co aider investing.... if it was 5-9 bucks. A 40 dolar price point for a literal button tgat ONLY glows 2 colors that analog cuts your mic is wild. ALSO. If they can do MORE for less money they can knock that 40 buck price down 75-80%
I talk a lot to customers and a big button thas also good to see for coworkers coming into the office is not that bad of an idea. Give it 3 colors, one for Talking, one of muted and one of "not in a call" and its a nice gimick. I think the price is just to high and you dont really need a big investor for something like that. Its not rockets sience
It actually has four states and you can choose the color for each state: 1. In meeting on mute. 2. In meeting mic on. 3. Not in meeting and OS mic muted. 4. Not in meeting and OS mic on. Since you can choose the colors, you could make states 3 and 4 have the same color. My kids come into my office and they know immediately if I'm on mute or not, so they don't start talking when I'm in the middle of a business conversation. If I were using in an office situation, I might make my states 3 and 4 both green (I'm not in a meeting), and then use red/purple or something for states 1 and 2.
Honestly this wouldn't be awful if it came with a wireless light for outside your room, kind of like a recording studio, so you can tell when you can knock while someone's in a meeting. Still probably not worth 40 dollars, but there's some utility there

Mark's browser extension was a fantastic idea, but in all honesty, this is a problem for Microsoft and Apple to solve with an obvious indicator button in the toolbar.
I think its nifty, a lot of people like more tactile devices.
a lot of modern microphones and headsets have an switch that can mute yourself with, also it pops up on the screen whenever you flip that switch. this is not a good product
They addressed that. This is primarily supposed to be a visual indicator so that you don't think you're muted but actually aren't.
A lot of modern earphones don't have a mute switch, a lot of people don't use telecalling based headsets, most use stuff like Airpods
@@mechanomics2649 that’s why he said it literally tells you on the screen if you are muted or not. This product is only for ppl with no technological knowledge whatsoever
@@Buckets50It is also for co-workers walking up to you from a side they can't see your screen from. I think that one colleague who is in the habit of walking in jokingly asking what [insert nasty nickname you came up with] was whining about this time, makes the button useful to prevent him from doing that while you are still on the phone with that person.
I know it is situational and the price tag is an obstacle, so I am not saying the product is great, but I do think it adds something on-screen indicators do not offer.
My keyboard literally has a light on the mute button to tell me if I'm mute or not. Peter is right: it's just a huge button that goes red or green.
I didnt know there was a dragons and sharks crossover, really cool!
Also I wonder if Peter let them know just in case that Jenny is out...
Don't worry Barbara made a video call to inform them that they were both out.
Great pitch! It’s a shame they were too prideful of their valuation and/or didn’t know Daymond well enough to know that they needed to take his offer quickly. Daymond is from New York and doesn’t wait long at all for you to make a decision...especially if you wait long enough for him to hear a reason why he shouldn’t invest! 😄
cringe
I'd much sooner take up extra space on my screen than on my desk lol. Having a cluttered desk is one of the worst feelings when you're working
Should have started their focus on bring a lower price with vheaper material's. Only start the stainless steel stuff when they proved they had something
IDK i kind of like it. it could have evolved into a programmable macro button as well, and can be used in reaction time training kind of games, the light change with the addition small vibrator motor are cool haptic feedback. Something small for kids to play, This thing has a lot of novelty value but the price is just mind-blowing. Sharks only care about sales or obvious sales potential which they lack. Mark gave them a really cool tip to market it.
It's not even a bad idea but I wouldn't pay more than like, 5 dollars for it. A button with an indicator light on it simply shouldn't be that expensive
They should have jumped at Damon’s deal
Most likely a deal would never be made off camera lol. Reading about these shark tank pitches it seems that most actually fall through.
These guys are basically selling an off/on button for your TV that already has a power button lol
This reminds me of the message light Joel and Barry made in Risky Business.
Am I missing the point? Is there not already a mute button within the zoom platform??? Who cares if it's smaller, it does the same thing, just click it
It was way too fancy. Hardware is an excellent solution to the mute/unmute problem, but the pricepoint was crazy.
I think buying in for the patent was a good idea but they were too busy selling and clearly saw this as their baby.
it can be useful but the engraving is a waste of money for both buyers and manufacturers, it only exist to give the product a more "luxury" look, but that's not an apple product, that's just a rgb button
thats dumb, i thought it'd be some sort of software that'd auto mute you somehow
I actually liked the CEO's idea. Just sell it to businesses who would buy custom engraved versions for all their employees. Not sure it would work or how to market it that way but I think that's a smart idea if you could figure it out.
Nobody cares for having your business logo inside your company. Putting your logo on stuff is useful for exposure, you don't need to get exposure towards your own employees.
@@markkNL companies buy weird tools for remote employees all the time. Oftentimes a manager will have a budget they need to use up and looks for things like that to buy. Engraved item with employee logo and their name that also has some use to solve an annoying problem? Sure, why not
@@markkNL and to move on your point, plenty of companies buy stupid swag for their loyal customers too. Same idea
They should sell it to a company that does engraving lol
It’s smart for organized conference calls
The most useless product ever. Every video conference call has a mute button built into the software. Just pay attention to see if you're muted or not.
I dont agree on the "Worst pitches" part of the title, its actually not a bad pitch. The product is.
I don't think it's too bad of an idea, but I think Peter had a good point, race to the bottom
Make it for a dollar, sell it for 10. A big selling point would be to show others in your home if they cant talk when they walk in the room. Its a great prodeuct that would sell a decent amount
Just too expensive at retail. I wouldn’t pay more than $10 for this (admittedly pretty fun) gimmick.
"I'm gone I'm out I'm history." Oh Kevin 😅
Damon never invests, replace him with someone with some money to throw around.
“I’m Ty, like the tie that you wear” was brutal
I don't think it's a bad idea. But to me it's something you would throw into a swag bag as a promo and not a full business in and of itself. Maybe one item in a larger product line.
It's amazing how many things exist that don't need to
Actually I don't think that was a bad pitch at all.
It only is a bad product.
This useless gizmo needs a CEO, a CFO, a COO, a CMO, and 20.000 € to turn a light on and make it change color.
They should have muted themselves and taken the offer immediately before the shark changed his mind
They made 2M after shark tank
I highly doubt that
Source: Trust me bro
Source: A quick google search confirms it. @@GFxStudiosbyGlen
Given that their website only has 19 reviews, I don’t believe you
It’s not the worst idea I’ve ever heard of.
I never understood the product. Is it plugged to your laptop and can work with any app? And I have to bring it with me everywhere I go?
Ive seen little lights before in front of receptionists desks, a little clip on light that illuminates when they’re on a call or completing detailed paperwork.
Such a bloated price, I bet these are all over wish/Temu etc for $4
I needed one of these just now.... When listening to their sales pitch. 😂
I have these, it’s a game changer if you have multiple meetings at once
"push to talk" is an option in like every voice/video program. I always use it
By reading this while I was not in such a program during a call, I finally realize this is what I should have set all along. When I see the option in software itself, it just seems like too much of a hassle, while in reality I talk so little during calls that it would be perfect for me.
Thanks for unwittingly being helpful!
The presentation was average. Bad acting, but a bit funny. The product is hard to sell. Maybe they can do partnership with the product that use ligth to indicate if you are in a call.
Definitely not one of the 'worst pitches', as a matter of fact this was quite a good pitch considering how terrible the product is. They even got a (brief) offer.
If they made it smart, with a speaker, microphone. adaptive noise cancelling. orange light for when sound quality is bad or probably suggestion that you should mute button then it could be a great product. But its just a button that goes red and green, so for those reasons im out.
I'm from Sacramento and I'm embarrassed.
They’ve actually sold $1.2 million worth though and Amazon reviews of their $40 item are pretty good, so idk
Is that you, Parm?
I actually really like the idea of this. I have ocd and I’ll be on zoom meetings and have to check over and over if I’m muted and my camera is off. I thought it was a good idea.
You know where there's a mute button? On literally every conferencing GUI. All of them. It's literally right there.
Im ngl i would co aider investing.... if it was 5-9 bucks. A 40 dolar price point for a literal button tgat ONLY glows 2 colors that analog cuts your mic is wild.
ALSO. I remember... a few years back i bought a cheap $10.50 pair of wired earbuds at the airport. It had a mic and a MUTE BUTTON FOR THE MIC. As well as volume controls. Ended up lasting me 1.5 years.
If they can do MORE for less money they can knock that 40 buck price down 75-80%
I love when start ups have more CE something or others than employees
Marks like you need to find a way to sell it. Yea bro they are on shark tank lol
I think that guy was in the hellmans commercial
Either the timing or the editing of the Sharks goong out was so khaotic. I expected Barbara to suddenly say, "I'm out"
Honestly this wouldn't be awful if it came with a wireless light for outside your room, kind of like a recording studio, so you can tell when you can knock while someone's in a meeting. Still probably not worth 40 dollars, but there's some utility there
Capitalist innovation in a nutshell😂😂😂😂
