White lights make such a difference in dimension for these displays. People try to avoid them, but they enhance everything! Great job and I got some amazing tips!
I just ordered the purple light bulbs you recommended. The light panels I have don’t have a deep purple like I want. Thanks for always sharing your supply list! 🙂
Where you don't need a ground (3-prong),I would also suggest you use SPT-1 or SPT-2 wire and vampire plugs (male and female). They also sell vampire C7 sockets. You can also get E26 (Standard Socket Bulb) adapters to E12 (C7 type bulbs) and vise versa. This would save you a ton of money on the many extension cords. You are correct with LED lighting. I would also suggest a smart plug that has power consumption monitoring. This way you can see the load gradually go up as you add items to it. Keep up the great work!!
Awesome Halloween display!! 🙂I totally agree with 100% that lighting will add an immeasurable amount of impact and it's inexpensive. Thank you for the lighting tips!
I was going to ask you for a behind the scenes on lighting your display after I seen your 2023 walk through video! You are already on top of it. Thank you for sharing!
My favorite is the witch and moon. But the whole thing looks great! You are so creative. I'd be interested in hearing your favorite craft from each year??..
Thank you so much I appreciate that. This year I really love the 15 foot wide white spider. Last year I really love the giant jack-o’-lantern, and the year before that I love the witch.
Exactly the type of video I was looking for.your display is amazing ..I’m so glad you listed everything you use.I bought some solar spot lights from Amazon and they were no good in just a day .so I’m switching over to wired lighting and I didn’t know which ones to buy but thanks to your video I will now..awesome.and happy Halloween 🎃
I thought the witch/moon display was going to be too small when you were lifting it up to that tree, but it turned out _really_ good. The proportions are a lot closer to how the moon might actually appear in the sky. Well done!
I use a lot of animatronics like maybe 12 and lots of blacklights. What do you recommend as a great way to plug everything in and not have a mess or tripping my breakers ?
We pick up those special effects light bulbs at Home Depot… spinning multi colors.. I think one looks like spider webs that move around. It adds a lot more depth and even motion to static props. Your yard would look cool with some of those.
I use remote controlled LED color changing puck lights in my pumpkins. They take 3 AAA batteries and the batteries last 4 weeks per pick at 6 hrs a day turned on.
Amazing video and display. Two things, converting the flame bulb to a battery pack is easy and cuts down on cords. Another is using motorcycle LED lights on battery packs (one pack will power 6 spotlights) for secondary lights. Van Oakes RUclips channel covers the motorcycle hack.
Love your channel! Could you please do a video on yard haunt vandalism and how to deter/prevent it from happening. I just had my yard haunt destryed by vandals a few days ago. Still upset over it!
@@cindyclaws I am probably going to get a camera system of some sort. I had fencing around everything, but they just got in by pushing on the fence door and bending it enough to get the chain link fence entry door to open. Oh no this made me so sad reading this. I’m so sorry this happened to you. I hope it doesn’t crush your Halloween spirit. I should make a video about it

Awesome display!! Love seeing your different setup each years! Question for you your pumpkin inferno I see rods in the back what are those? I bought one this year and just looking at options to secure it down. Thx
Hey there sorry for my late reply, I’m not sure why you mean by rods, there is no rods on my inferno. They do come with guy wires (2 cables) that attach to the base and are extremely important for stability. Maybe that’s what you saw?
No clue on foam board….is there a thickness you recommend? What tool do you use to cut out the letters? (Referring to your Halloweentown sign.) Hot glue to attach? Anything special before paint?
Love love love your display. And amazing lighting, obviously. Which leads me to my question. If I’m not lighting huge trees (basically just accent lighting on the house and small decorations), do I want spots or panels? Thanks!!
That depends, do you want them to be multi colored or simply a soft white light? If you want just soft white light then you need 10w landscape spot light (it’s what I use to light up big props on the video at 6:57) if you want color the. I suggest using the panel LED’s seen at 2:40
Oh I def want colors for holiday decor (already have white up lights on the corners of the house). Sounds like the panels will be best. Then I can change their colors for different holidays. Thanks again!! 🙌
Love the dispkay and info. Curios how you did the spotlights in pvc pupe on the roof. I can see the pipe and tee fittings but how did you get the lights on there or are they just sitting on top of the pipe with the docket and wires inside?
Several of the multicolored LEDs you use are 30W. Looking by at other options from your link, these can go up to 80W. Would these be too bright or too much power being used and would you recommend the 30W you use instead? Also, any ideas for a replacement backdrop as I don’t have the amazing large trees you have?
Two vitally important follow-up questions: 1. How much room does it take to store all of those decorations? 2. What kind(s) of candy do you hand out to trick-or-treaters? Happy Halloween! 🎃 edit: Okay, I saw where you responded about the sheds you have for storage. :D
So many helpful tips! I was wondering about the rustoleum fluorescent paint - I had read mixed reviews especially about frequent clogging - did you have any issues with this?
I have a question, what if you are not using LED lights and using other type of lights what should you do if you use those and how can you tell how much your electricity bill will be compared to LED lights?
LED is the only thing I use. The other option is incandescent which consumes a lot of electricity and you cannot use as many connected together. So I do not know what to tell you but I definitely recommend you using LED lights only.
Question - Why not use 1-2 60-100+ watt LED with a remote/app instead of 5+ 20w purples to light the trees up? Plus, if you ever get tired of using purple for the trees, you can change the color later. This isn't a criticism, just wondering if you have a reason. I've been working on lighting for my house this year as well so I definitely appreciate videos like this. That's a lot of daisy chaining, but I guess as you said, it's low voltage with LEDs, so it's fine. I'm trying to figure out a way to light up my entire house without blinding my trick-or-treaters. I've tried placing 60w LEDs back 25+ feet from my house but it still catches people in the eyes due to the layout of my house. Frustrating.. Do you have a background in construction?
The issue is that the pine trees are so tall that we need a lot of light to light it up. LED panels that are 100W or more can be very expensive but these bulbs are $10 apiece and its base is six dollars so it’s just cheaper for me to do it this way. I do have the same issue of blinding people because of how bright the lights are on the front of the house and honestly I haven’t been able to find a good enough way to light up the house without it blinding people people. I’ve never worked in construction or electrical, I’ve just taught myself how to do it over the last few years
@@bmp4223the way they’re using them though (protected with the plastic and not on the ground) helps a ton. And use electrical tape around the plug and socket.
