Short Service commission is a big no for future generation. You will be left bereaved, dejected, depressed, hapless and hopeless after 10-14 years. After completion of tenure you will be left without pension, fair ECHS schemes and good options outside bcoz you will be loosing on the age as well as corporate experience. It's better to join in in jawan Cadre than to join as SSCO bcoz you will get chance to serve country as well as take care of your family after 15 years bcoz you will be atleast getting pension.. SSCO entry in our country is an injustice to the youth of nation..They are being allured at young age and left orphaned afterwards at a sensitive stage without any financial benefits or ECHS schemes, when their kids are small or parents are stricken with multiple diseases... Afterwards they have to work at 40% of the last pay drawn in PSU as there is no pay protection and corporate world is still not mature to understand their place, bcoz military ranks, military degrees etc. are of no avail to them. So, conclusively it's better to join in men Cadre than to repent afterwards as Ex-SSCO...
Is it true sir ? And how many get pc ? Because sir many officers promote that no problem to join as a ssc bec 70 to 80 % get pc and so on plzzz can you clearfy.
@Aspirants ...SSC to PC conversion is not even 10% especially after 2006 case..which is also done through board which is normally biased which u will be appreciate once u join...But if u consider career as a SSCO as a stepping stone for other career in the future then its okay to join as SSCO...

Col nehru sir .. Plz can you give me your point of view plz as you are retd officer I am in 2 year if it is then i will put hard for IMA also
@Aspirants Well u r chatting with an SSC officer..and Gen , Col ranks are from PC not from SSC Cadre.. before 2006 most of the male SSCOs were given PC but after 2006 no PC to SSCOs and 3-5% who get PC now are a part of rat race which you will realize once you join...See I don't want to demoralize you but I want that if at all u r joining as SSCO then be prepared for a second career after 10 or 14 years and start preparing for it since the day one of your commissioning....All the best
