Creating Subassemblies

How do you drag the assembly???? I have created a satellite assembly but for the life of me I cannot drag it to the subassembly area!!!!!
I tried holding all three buttons, and alt, shift, and ctrl versions of each and drag and nothing moves. I am ready to kick my dog I am getting so frustrated
