As a huge fan of the books, I was SO excited about Euron. "I am the storm." Chills.
In the books he was basically a physical manifestation of the drowned god. His lips are pale blue because he drinks shade of the evening ( the same stuff those Qarth warlocks take), he cut out the tongues of the crew of his ship (The Silence) to ensure his secrets are kept and so he could have some peace and quiet, has a magical horn called Dragonbinder that can allegedly control dragons (which he found in the ruins of Valyria), keelhauled and r*ped his own brothers more than once, he has pale skin with black hair and an eyepatch over his right eye (which, according to Theon, conceals a "black eye shining with malice"), owns a black suit of armor made of Valyrion steel, has sailed all across the known world (including Asshai), claims to have walked the ruins of Valyria, and even claims to have had a dragon egg at one point which that he threw into the sea after a Myrish wizard couldnt hatch it. He is vile, heartless, and utterly terrifying. Despite all of that, his crew love him and willingly serve, likely because he keeps very little of the loot from their plundering. He sends his brother, Victarian, to Mereen to court Daenerys in his name and to give her and her dragons a ride to Westeros. He plans to take her as his queen, use Dragon Binder to take/tame her dragons, and take the Iron Throne.
In the show, he's just kind of a dick and behaves like a horny old drunk.
