It still wouldnt make sense that they come out of his wrists, like wouldnt slinging hurt his skin or the web producing organs if he tore them so much? I prefer the mechanical web shooter version of this power
@The Manager you can see him grabbing his webs in the movies so it’s not like he’s just swinging without holding his webs and dangling from his wrists he quickly grabs the web and starts swinging, but yeah there are good questions like how long can he shoot his webs for or do they only have a certain length for each web shot? As much as I LOVE the animatronic Gobby mask, the regular mask just works better to me. It focuses more on his "human" side. Also I heard somewhere that perhaps the "web-shooters" were actually just going to help Peter _control_ the organic webbing. This idea makes loads of sense when you consider that perhaps the scene of him learning to shoot his webs at the crane was done much later, when they decided to go full organic.
It's still pretty much confirmed that he has some form of web shooter when he's wearing the suit, since it doesn't just shoot through the material. In some scenes you can catch glimpses of what looks like a web shooter on his wrist when he has the suit on. I believe The Canadian Lad has a video about this movie where he points it out
Considering they took this from James Cameron's scriptmemt, his story mentioned Spider-Man made his own web-shooters from a watch, cables and batteries with a weird nozzle to help his aiming better when swimming. It's also to help Peter be more human to himself because he feels he's a freak with these holes growing out of his wrists.
I always felt that they should've mixed the concepts of organic webbing and web shooters. Like have Peter's body make the webbing, but to release it from his body and in so many unique ways (web blasts vs standard web lines), he needs to web shooters to do so.
I drew up a concept for a spider man who was able to shoot webs only out of the hand that he got bitten on. So he only designed one webshooter to put on his other hand, also making him a mix of organic and and techy
I always thought this as well. It fixes the issue that people have with organic webshooters where it makes Peters intelligence less significant. It also fixes the issue of howcome knowbody else can make the synthetic web that a teenager with no money can make.

People including Raimi would only credit James Cameron's script for coming up with the organic webbing idea and not mention that it was Peter David who originally conceived of the organic webbing concept for his creation, Spiderman 2099.
I read the early 1999 script for Raimi's Spider-Man that had Doctor Octopus in it and he was described as nothing like how he did in the concept art. Instead, he was described as having jet-black hair, very pale and fat as if he'd never stepped outside of his basement before. The tentacles were more like the Ultimate and SM2 with them being held up around his waist. But after Norman and Outto have a brief argument after being fired by Norman Osborn, there's an accident in the lab that causes the green smoke to fill the room and Outto's mechanic arms go haywire and weld into his flesh and we later see him shirtless watching the parade fight on TV in his apartment and we see his torso is horribly burned with the metal. He doesn't really have much in the plot, but more of a set-up. His motivation in the script was to get revenge on Norman Osborn. He was also the one to attack Jamison, asking if he could find someone who takes the pictures of Spider-Man to tell Spider-Man to get Goblin for him. But Peter steps in to reveal himself and Ock threatens him to find Spider-Man (a la SM2.) The entire third act was hugely different. There was no saving the kids, no fight in that abandoned building, no Osborn being killed. It was instead set in a foggy winter morning where Norman gives letters to MJ, Peter and Harry to all meet up at Oscorp where Goblin tries to kill Harry and Peter as eventually kidnaps MJ where Peter has to buy a Spider-Man costume after he burned his original one earlier, and he chases him on the bridge, where Doc Ocks's there, telling Spider-Man to kill Norman. But Goblin doesn't die in this version. MJ jams a pumpkin bomb in his glider where it explodes and he falls into a giant spider web and is arrested by the FBI with Doc Ock watching at the distance in rage that Spider-Man didn't kill Osborn, setting him as a more established villain for a sequel and getting revenge on Spider-Man someday.

2:56 Didn't he say he wanted organic webbing because he felt like if Peter was able to make his own webshooters he would stop being an ordinary man and would be more of a genius, taking away from the everyday guy becomes hero concept?? I feel like you didn't include the full context behind his decision.
alot of the unused concepts made it into 2002 spider man game on ps2 including the alex ross suit and when u change spider man suit it also changes green goblin original design and believe or not in the game they somehow made him use web cartridge even tho the movie he has organic webbing but alot of the stuff u mention is in the game activision somehow pulled it off. so its not really unexplored material, but it is good to look back to on what could've been.
Yep you're right, yet he's able to regenerate web in a very slow pace in the game. So I guess the headcanon would be that these "web cartridges" are just refills for the sake of game balancing. But that goblin suit change in game (alex ross goblin) is my favorite ngl, it captures the Halloween aspect of the character.
I think the choice of making the webs organic was a good choice for this interpretation. It makes total sense that being able to create organic webs would come with the rest of the spider powers. Also keep in mind that X-Men was pretty big at this time so having mutations where you get all of the actual powers of the spider makes sense
I think the best way to have both the organic and mechanical web shooters would be Peter losing his powers in Spider-Man 2 and being forced to make web shooters for a little bit until his powers returned. But that's just an idea.
Dang, that Goblin mask scares me and I'm not even a kid! Seriously though, I never had a problem with the Goblin's appearance in the movie, but I sure do now having seen what he could have looked like!
Organic webbing was something I thought was really great about Tobey's Spiderman, and it surprises me a little that most people prefer mechanical web shooters. Glad it got a bit of a joke about it in No Way Home 🙂
I feel like the reason why people call the black and red suit, the Alex Ross suit, and not the David Williams suit is probably because people found Ross’s take on the suit much more recognizable and iconic.
I would've preferred that goblin design so much ,I feel they didn't do him justice the first movie ,then they corrected it in no way home .I think William Defoes face was sufficient 🤣🤣
Love the concepts, but I'm happy with the suit we got. And I never understood the organic web shooters not being a part of his mutation in pretty much every other interpretation of Spider-Man. Like, you're telling me his only mutations were his strength, vision and sense instead of having organic webs like spiders do?
The black Spider-Man suit HEAVILY resembles Assassin Spider-Man, I wonder if Marvel were inspired by the original concept suit when making Assassin Spidey (A really cool Spidey, his web shooters were replaced with guns and he was trained by Logan). LOVE that animatronic Goblin, would've preferred it, but it certainly is haunting and looks uncomfortable.
The cut web shooters were only gonna be there because peter felt like a freak with organic webbing so he would use the web shooters to make it seem like he made shot it out of the webshooters
I will say this, if they ever made a horror like spiderman movie then it should be with the green goblin batman beyond: return of the joker style. With him psychologically dismantling peter into despair and depression.
Well it makes sense in the movie. He just stole a military flight suit and glider and made a custom helmet. I agree it wasn't the best choice but you can't say the logic in universe isn't there at least
I miss when Spider-Man villains were scary like in the 90s. They drop the ball not using the goblin mask. The Green Goblin is supposed to be scary/evil. Could’ve done so much with the mask when it came to showing emotion.
He was scary without the mask, how the fuck could you tell emotion with the mask on? Dude looked like a Power Rangers villain, mostly everyone agrees not having the mask was so much better and showed how crazy Osborn was
@@Tryhardblackguy That power ranger comment is so tired. And you’re only saying that because that’s how you’ve seen the movie. But I guarantee if they used the animatronic mask it would make a bigger difference. The have scenes when he has the mask off. He can still take it off. The point is that when he is in Green Goblin mode, we should see his Goblin face move as well.
@@Tryhardblackguy You're living up to your namesake of "TryHard". Just saying "everyone agrees with my viewpoint" doesn't make it the case. He worked in the first film because there were scenes both with and without the mask on...because the whole point is that he had a split personality.
@@raveoreynolds6049 Ya but if the mask was animatronic, it would allow him to emote more with the mask. Allowing him to have both scenes with and without the mask, but still being able to convey emotion better than just his eyes when the lenses go away like in the actual movie. I like both but I think it's pretty simple logic if they got the animatronics to work properly that it would have been the better choice. Tho the budget would have significantly been effected so I'm glad they didn't go with it since the "power ranger suit" isn't that bad imo.
In my head spiderman can make organic webbing but since it comes out of his ass he prefers not to use it and instead makes web shooters My own little head canon

Like you get beaten by a radioactive super spider and you dont get organic web ? Like why being called spiderman if you cant make web by yourself. Sam raimi is just the best thank you for this masterpiece of a trilogy
The animatronic mask looks more like it would be Osborne's actual face but transformed into the Goblin's. This would make the self-reflection scenes different as he would not be able to address the helmet when he "talks" to the Goblin. He would have to just quickly transform in and out of the Goblin. Would be interesting though.
The original suit in the comics actually was supposed to be red and black like the Alex Ross concept with the blue parts being highlights but it changed over time
That goblin mask is godadmn nightmare fuel. I get why they didn’t use it but it’s still so cool. Ultimately Dafoe makes so many creepy faces on his own that in No Way Home they just had his face exposed.

2:56 Didn't he say he wanted organic webbing because he felt like if Peter was able to make his own webshooters he would stop being an ordinary man and would be more of a genius, taking away from the everyday guy becomes hero concept?? I feel like you didn't include the full context behind his decision.
Thats why I prefer them personally. Anyone can be a hero, but not everyone is an engineering prodigy lol
The black and red one looks so much like superior spider man
alot of the unused concepts made it into 2002 spider man game on ps2 including the alex ross suit and when u change spider man suit it also changes green goblin original design and believe or not in the game they somehow made him use web cartridge even tho the movie he has organic webbing but alot of the stuff u mention is in the game activision somehow pulled it off. so its not really unexplored material, but it is good to look back to on what could've been.
In the PlayStation 1 game Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro released in 2001, you can play as Alex Ross's Spider-Man costume
Great video, thanks for the plug.
Oh hey that’s a nice surprise, thanks for commenting. Wasn’t expecting you to show up.
@@WarpingFist It's good to see you.
Who cares about how scared those kids are.
Rent
Ngl I really prefer the organic webshooter instead of the mechanic one it kinda makes more sense to me
I love the Alex Ross suit hopefully it appears in Spider-Man 2 the game
Really love these cut content videos, you should do more for other superhero movies.
"The amazing spider man!!!"
The amazing spider man: 🧍♂️
5:00 damn this one looks comic accurate almost same like tasm 2 suit
Facts though.
Dang, that Goblin mask scares me and I'm not even a kid!
Seriously though, I never had a problem with the Goblin's appearance in the movie, but I sure do now having seen what he could have looked like!
fantastic thumbnail i have to say
Organic webbing was something I thought was really great about Tobey's Spiderman, and it surprises me a little that most people prefer mechanical web shooters. Glad it got a bit of a joke about it in No Way Home 🙂
I feel like the reason why people call the black and red suit, the Alex Ross suit, and not the David Williams suit is probably because people found Ross’s take on the suit much more recognizable and iconic.
0:02 I wish it wasn’t Sony Pictures that released Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man
Thank you for making this video man
U should do videos like these on the whole trilogy! Great Video
Dude, that Green Goblin animatronic mask was awesome!
4:10 this suit is actually unlockable in the 2002 spiderman movie game.,
..he said that it was about 30 seconds later
@@digithardt Oh sht my bad. I was a bit overwhelmed with nostalgia lol
7:17 tbh that mask makes Green Goblin look like an Oni which would've been a cool take
I would've preferred that goblin design so much ,I feel they didn't do him justice the first movie ,then they corrected it in no way home .I think William Defoes face was sufficient 🤣🤣
Am I the only one who absolutely loves that red and black suit?
Yes. Yes you are.
@@Wojtek_Ch😂
Spider-Man in the thumbnail looks like he's got his mouth stitched shut.
I used to prefer helmet design over the animatronic design but honestly in motion the animatronic mask is so cool
Honestly had they wore that animatronic mask then this would turn into a comedy film
nice video man!!
It’s funny how the original suit by Alex Ross predicted the Superior Spider-Man
Imagine that "WAKE UP,SPIDER-MAN!" jumpscare with this mask: 6:47
I can see why it was not used and i agree with this reason.
7:04 that looks like Dr Doom
Bro was sounded forced to make that dragon ball joke💀💀
I remember a magazine about Tobey's web shooter, saying his webs could hold 36 tons i think, which as a kid i thought it was real lol
i cant believe this was a year ago
time goes by way too fast
Would love a series like this for other films as well! Also congrats on 700!
Love the concepts, but I'm happy with the suit we got. And I never understood the organic web shooters not being a part of his mutation in pretty much every other interpretation of Spider-Man. Like, you're telling me his only mutations were his strength, vision and sense instead of having organic webs like spiders do?
One of the test videos make the animatronic mask tester while wearing that robe like attire makes him look like a twisted yoda
TASM 2 Goblin looks dope
It’s insane how only 20 years ago, a Spider-Man movie was unheard of.
I need some explanation from the artists who gave a tactical military looks for the green goblin
In my head spiderman can make organic webbing but since it comes out of his ass he prefers not to use it and instead makes web shooters
My own little head canon
I kinda like that one dull colored goblin mask, the one with the armored scales and mask, the eyes are a little off though in my opinion
4:07 it was cool to see such a costume in the movies and I also wanted to see instead of the green goblin the main villain was the doctor octopus, who, as in the sequel, was played by Alfred Malina
And that goblin mask would've been so much better
Your content is very informative! Keep up the good work
I love the first Spider-Man movie I wouldn't change a thing about
I’m glad we got the Spider-Man film we got.
That mask woulda been siiiick
If he had the web shooters and the Dafoe’s had the Goblin mask this movie would’ve been perfect
2:57 Well, Sam Raimi just pulled it out of his ass. Web shooters exist not only to be cool, but to emphasize Peter's brain power.
Can you please do a spider man 2 and 3 cut content next like this one!?
@@WarpingFist okay great I am for the third one after that 😊👌
@@WarpingFist also my favorite spider man suit of all time is the Alex ross/David williams suit I hoped that we can get a marvel legends figure of that someday around 2022 perhaps because of it's similarity to the superior suit it's based on of
ruclips.net/video/4ktH_a1BqfI/видео.html
Everyone is fawning over the animatronic mask meanwhile i fucking hate it and im grateful it wasnt used lol, looks so corny and i feel would have aged the movie 20 years.
The goblin mask is underappreciated tbh, i think it looks evil af and even though it covers Dafoe's face, the eyes and mouth opened and let him emote a bit in some key scenes.
Spider-Man 1 : Animatronic Head of Goblin will be too scary.
Spider-Man 3 : Venom
dude i feel like im the only one who likes the goblin helmet we got, never understood the power ranger hate
fucking hate the web shooters, makes no fucking sense. Those who thinks organic web is stupid really dont have a brain. Like you get beaten by a radioactive super spider and you dont get organic web ? Like why being called spiderman if you cant make web by yourself. Sam raimi is just the best thank you for this masterpiece of a trilogy
6:26 I really wish this was in the film or in Tom Hollands green goblin
Now Amazing Spider-Man 2 is not my fav but goblin face design I fw he was actually turning into a goblin
The goblin should been like this 6:12
Good thing they didn't use the original concept of green goblin otherwise it would've scared away the audience away while pissing themselves
That Green Goblin mask is ridiculously cool
I know the old one use cgi suit sometimes, but when they don't the suit are much better than the current Spiderman suit that is cgi 100% all the time
The animatronic mask looks more like it would be Osborne's actual face but transformed into the Goblin's. This would make the self-reflection scenes different as he would not be able to address the helmet when he "talks" to the Goblin. He would have to just quickly transform in and out of the Goblin. Would be interesting though.
The Alex Ross suit looks a lot like Hollands Suit in Far From Home.
Sad i want that goblin
I prefer the organic webbing than webshooters.
Those tools are liable.
Tobey Maguire spidey is the perfect example.
I really wish they found a way to use the animatronic mask
The original suit in the comics actually was supposed to be red and black like the Alex Ross concept with the blue parts being highlights but it changed over time
I always thought the organic webbing was a mutant gene like X-men
That goblin mask is godadmn nightmare fuel. I get why they didn’t use it but it’s still so cool. Ultimately Dafoe makes so many creepy faces on his own that in No Way Home they just had his face exposed.
Y’know, looking at some of the concept art you pointed out, it almost gives the impression that the artists were trying to draw to Sam Raimi’s reputation at the time of being a horror movie maker (It’s likely the artists knew him from his Evil Dead trilogy).
If you guys watch the full screen version of spider man 2002 you can see the websters on his wrist when hes shooting the can of soda
goblin mask like that almost scares me lol 😂
I think the reason Sam Raimi didn't include web shooters is because spider man would sometimes run out of webs and I'm pretty sure Raimi didn't like that so that's why organic webbing is in the movie
